Good communication and prompt payment.

They are not worth one star I found this website though a compare website and I read the reviews first so I thought they were a good company. But how wrong was I so I did the pay work for the item and I told them it was not good condition. And they received the item on the Monday I soon received a email saying that they where going to bank transfer the money and then a few hours later they what to change the money to less than what was signed and agreed on then they could give me a couple of pound more. And they are still messing me around with the money as I pointed out to them they should have said the lower offer in the first place instead of change after they emailed me the receipt with the first price. To me they should have just told me they received the item and after they checked it then email me the receipt with a price to see if I agreed on that amount but they didn’t do that

Was a simple, easy and straightforward experience although I was actually skeptical about the whole thing as I’ve never sold tech online before. Updates each step of the way and payment very fast. Highly recommend

It was so quick and easy to sell my old phone. After looking at reviews for several companies, and prices offered, I decided on We Buy Tek. I filled out a form online on a Monday and they sent me the packaging and the label, which I received on the Tuesday. I posted my phone to them for free that same day. The following day (Wed) it was received by We Buy Tek and they text me to say they had received it. By early afternoon, I had confirmation my phone was as I had described and the money was in my bank. Everything was so quick, easy and without cost to me. An absolutely wonderful experience from beginning to end.

Avoid this company.

I traded in my old iPhone 11 with a cracked screen. It was still working, but the screen was damaged, so I deliberately selected “Broken” when getting my quote because that was the worst condition available. The quote came back at £66.

This wasn’t the first time I’d tried to trade it in either. On two previous occasions, I completed the entire trade-in process, received the confirmation email and even had the postage pack sent out. However, when the confirmation email arrived, I noticed the condition had been changed from “Broken” to “Faulty”, despite me specifically selecting “Broken”. Because of that, I refused to send the phone and simply let the trade-in expire.

I tried again later, exactly the same thing happened, and again I didn’t send the phone.

The third time, I decided to send it anyway to see what would happen. Sure enough, after they received it, they reduced the offer from £66 to £26, claiming the phone was broken rather than faulty and therefore wasn’t as described.

That’s the problem. I did describe it as broken. I deliberately selected the worst condition available every single time. Somehow, by the time the confirmation email arrived, it had been changed to “Faulty”, which was then used to justify a huge reduction in the offer.

By that stage they’ve got your phone, so your choice is to accept a much lower payment or pay to have it returned. I accepted the £26 because it wasn’t worth the hassle of getting it back and starting the process elsewhere, but the whole experience felt incredibly misleading.

Based on my experience, I’d avoid WeBuyTek and use another trade-in company instead.

Update 24/07/2026:

Following my original review, the company contacted me to discuss my complaint. Unfortunately, rather than addressing the points I had actually raised, the conversation simply became another attempt to justify their position.

When I finally tried to respond and explain why I disagreed, the call conveniently became “difficult to hear” just as it was my turn to speak. At that point I ended the call.

This has only reinforced my original opinion. The issue was never properly acknowledged, and my concerns were never genuinely addressed. Instead, I was repeatedly given explanations that completely missed the point of my complaint.

My review therefore stands. In fact, after today’s experience, I have even less confidence in this company than I did when I first wrote it. If I could leave minus stars, I would.

I got a quote on the website to sell my old phone. I quickly received the postage kit and as soon as WeBuyTek received it they emailed me. The same day they sent a further email to say they had checked the phone and would be paying the quoted price. The money was in my account within the hour. Highly recommend.

Never heard of the company until I googled it & to be fair wasnt setting my expectations high. Ime pleased to say they went above & beyond. Package to send the phone was sent promptly, the postage was Royal Mail 24 Hrs & sent a text message to say they'd recieved it & made payment the very same day. What can I say.... 5* Service. Would Definitely Use again for sure !

Great with quick payment. Sent my phone off to them, the offer was (as expected) reduced due to the broken screen, but still more than Apple pay. Tested and paid out within 2 hours of them receiving the phone.

Great service - Although I didn't receive the full price I initially hoped for, after the phone was re-evaluated, the revised offer was fair. Overall, I'm happy with the experience and would use them again.

The same old story !

They offer an attractive price, but inevitability find something wrong and 'revise' their offer down. Down to an insulting level. To improve customer experience I would suggest that they revise their website that permits customers to more accurately describe their phones in order to avoid this charade.

I ultimately got the price I was originally quoted, but We Buy Tek certainly tried their best to not pay it!

I sold my iPhone through them recently. My iPhone was in perfect working condition, but with a cracked glass casing, hence why I processed the sale as "faulty", as the website clearly states that deep cracks to the casing is accepted under the "faulty" category.

After We Buy Tek received my phone, I instantly received a notification to say there was a problem and they were HALVING the offered price due to "white spots on the LCD screen" and "cracked casing" meaning the phone was unsellable. The screen had absolutely no problems when I sent it off and the cracked casing was supposed to be acceptable under the faulty category, so I quickly declined as this was unacceptable. I received an auto-reply to say that someone would be in touch with return details.

I then very quickly received an email to say a manager had approved a slightly increased amount, no questions asked, which seemed odd to me. If they truly though the phone wasn't of any value as they were claiming, then why increase the offer immediately with no other questions? I replied to say ANY reduction isn't acceptable as the screen had no issues at all when I sent it and I asked for proof of the alleged damaged LCD screen, plus the cracked casing was the reason I sold the phone as faulty. Luckily I had taken multiple photos prior to packaging and sending, so I attached these too.

Funnily enough, I received no "proof" of the LCD screen damage and then suddenly received full payment of the original offer, but no email or response to clarify, so I asked for confirmation of what had actually been processed and what had happened. Upon the reply to this request, I was told it was an "error" by the technician who reviewed the phone and mis-diagnosed the issues, and that mistakes happen.

I agree that mistakes happen, but I am not naive enough to believe that in this case given the timeline, and I have seen other reviews which state very similar experiences from this company.

I wouldn't use this service again, as I would not trust them and I believe they just wanted to try their luck at knocking down my price without reason and hoping I either wouldn't have proof or would just give in and accept a halved offer.

I would advise others to use with a lot of caution. Make sure to take photo evidence.

I sold my old iPhone 14 Pro which was broken. I was offered £60 as trade in from my network provider but got £260 from WeBuyTek. The process was simple and payment was quick. Would recommend.

The time involved in the receipt of phone to cash in my bank was exceptional. I put my phone as faulty as it had a cracked back and many scratches and the price was honoured. Very happy.
