We sold our company's property over two years ago. We cleared all our bills. During this time, we received water from ABC company only and did not receive a single bill from XYZ company nor paid them any amount.

In February this year, we received emails from XYZ company demanding water supply arrears. When I told them that you were not our water suppliers. Moreover we sold the property over 2 years ago and I had cleared bills of ABC company which were our water suppliers
I received emails from three people asking for proof of sale. I sent them the land registry.
After this, I found that their emails were removed and I could only see my emails.

However, early this year, I received letters from UK Search Limited, acting on behalf of XYZ company, asking for money.
When I told them that we only received water supply from ABC and not XYZ company, and if they could provide any evidence that XYZs has provided me Water Supply and not ABC or that if we have paid anything to XYZ company for supplying water?
They disregarded my request and threatened that our account is on hold.
I wrote back today "I have told you categorically that we have been getting water supply from ABC company, and not from XYZ company. Then how can you force me and threaten me to pay? Is it not my right to ask for the evidence?"

I have been contacted numerous times by this company on behalf of utilita, advising me to pay money that I don’t owe. After requesting they listen to recorded calls between myself and utilita, to confirm I was told I had no outstanding balance, they said they would put my account on hold. I was then sent an email with a quote from utilita, saying I need to contact them myself in writing to request the calls! I am now receiving letters and emails. I do not have the time to chase up phone calls on behalf of a company that are ‘chasing’ me for debt that I was advised I did not owe.

This company is an offshoot of Unicom/Verastar, structured in a way to obfuscate the true nature of their business. They employ a scattergun approach to debt servicing, which means they send anyone with any vague connection (old address, similar sounding name) threatening letters demanding money. They have been operating for 20 years, which in itself is incredible. It is the system that allows these fraudulent operators to exist that is at fault, as individuals with better things to do, they prey on us to capitulate, sadly this proves successful regularly enough that they continue with their barely concealed fraud. They appear to target elderly and other vulnerable groups in particular, those who assume that they are acting in good faith. Disgusting doesnt even start to cover it. The lawyers who make this possible should be ashamed.

If I could leave no stars at all I would. Being harassed with countless emails about a water debt for an address I wasn’t even living at! They are absolutely disgusting and clearly don’t know what they’re doing. If you receive an email from this company do not pay as more than likely the information they have is rubbish!

Uk search have send me 3 letter dated same day same account number and also email me then are just bully's every time u ring the it are u going too pay the amount it fell like harassment got no customer service skills it a business and not here too help people with heath issues

Yet another person being accused of having a debt with affinity water yet never living down south ever uk search weren't helpful so I have been in touch with affinity water and am sending them the proof that I'm not the person that owes them a debt it seems they have a list of names and no proof who's the right person I shouldn't have to spend my time trying to prove they made a mistake

I'm in shock at this company's conduct. They accused me of owing Affinity Water. I have never lived anywhere near Luton. All I can tell is that they're contacting anyone anywhere with the same name as the person who actually owes the debt. So it is up to me to provide proof that I am not that person. Surely it's up to them (the accusers) to provide proof? This company ought to be investigated for bad practices.

*UPDATE*
After a week, they have written to confirm that they are passing my "case" back to Affinity Water (honestly never heard of the company) and closing my file. So I'm adding a couple of stars because they took the time to inform me.

Awful company. I submitted proof that we didn't live at a property that we are being charged for by affinity water and now being told we didn't submit such evidence. Just wasting time. If they're so good at "finding you" they should be competent enough to find the information that you weren't living there for that period anyway!

Edited update: they definitely hadn't even given Affinity the evidence, as I went to them direct myself in the end! All apparent debt owed cleared because we didn't actually owe it.

Been getting contact debt letters saying I owe over £600 of debt to southern water they now sent me a letter from there socialisters saying if don’t pay on 7 days they taking me to court . I’ve gone on there website to pay with money that a family member lent me as I don’t have that kind of money so called debt for website to tell me I don’t owe nothing and can’t make a payment for no debt . What is going on debt debt letter now a socialist letter and now to say on payment site there no debt I suffer with severe mental health and this is really effecting me x

I have been contacted (although, given the frequency, 'harassed' would be more appropriate) by UK Search for weeks now (last contact today).

They purport to be chasing an unpaid utility debt on behalf of Ecotricity. This is nonsense as my account with Ecotricity was closed in October last year, and the final bill paid. I have acknowledgement of the account closure and of receipt of the money in settlement of the final bill. I have, obviously, not heard anything from Ecotricity since.

Why UK Search Limited should, out of the blue and for no reason, suddenly start texting, calling, and e-mailing me I have no idea.

There is an obvious and serious query here: how did they know I ever had an account with Ecotricity and how did they obtain my personal details?

Appalling that this happens and I will be taking it further.

Uksearch have no legal powers, they are just tin pot debt collectors. Just tell them that you don't owe the debt to them and to stop wasting their time.
Do Not Be Afraid of them they are nothing.
The owner of the company is Clifford Poole, the boss of the office is John Kirwin. Tell them that you will only speak to them.
They are a bunch of pariahs, leeches that live of the financial troubles of others.
Remember....
THEY HAVE NO LEGAL POWER....THEY CANNOT ENTER YOUR HOME.

My parcel never arrived. All money wasted on scammers, bad review all the way. I wouldn't recommend ever.

Well what can be said for these horrible, dictating bullies?? I Provided evidence as asked, this was due to me unbelievably residing at a residence on the date of arrears incurred with Welsh Water. Total Nightmare!! They DO NOT correspond with the company they collect for at all & you play by their rules...No one wants to be black listed in the current climate and thats their ethics.....Pay or Else.They send automated messages scaring the hell out of you! I'm hoping to god I dont hear from this terrible company ever again & my dispute with Welsh Water has hopefully been resolved!!! Beware!!! These are very malicious predators!

I receved a letter from uk search limited,claiming I owe money to affinity water, for a property I have absolutely no connection with. So far uk search have ignored our(mine and my landlord) requests for stop sendind this false letters, or to provide the Proof info showing I owe this debt, because i belive that they know for sure I have never lived at that property, that is on the letter.
Even though I never been an account holder At any contract with Affinity Water.

Got numerous emails and calls , they're even harassing a friend whose phone I borrowed once, refusing to accept it is not my number ( they have reported it to police). They keep demanding an ' income and expenditure ' form be filled in before accepting my £5 a week offer which I refuse to do because it's an invasion of my privacy, they will not fill one in if I send them one so why should I? I'm just ignoring them now and will pay what I offered.

This debt company keeps sending letters and texts saying I owe 600 pounds for octupus energy when I'm not living at the property any more my mum was the bill payer and before we left my mum paid octupus every thing she owed we moved out off the property 28th Feb 2023 even have all paperwork to prove we sold then moved out 28th Feb you are after the wrong people to scam we will be taking action iff these scammers keep harrasing me then the buyer moved in on 28th Feb me and my mum moved out this debt company are chasing me when all bills were paid before we left we've rang octupus they have told us we owe nothing they even said ignore these letters and texts as it probably a scam in fact octupus energy have told us the buyer off the property switched his energy supplier in middle off may this debt is from 28th Feb 2023 to middle off may iff there is a genuine debt the buyer off the property owes the money as he switched on middle off may so didn't pay from 28th Feb to middle of may stop texting or sending me letters as I owe you nothing you will get nothing out off me you are wasting your time get a real job and stop trying to bully and scam people

Have been continually contacted by this company who, after being told I have no knowledge of a debt and that information is wrong continue to aggressively contact me. They ignore the FCA rules and are aware that I suffer from health issues, physical and mental. Despite my now contacting the FCA and Trading Standards I will now complain to the Financial Ombudsman and Information Commissioners.
They are chancers who just bully and threaten individuals and no matter now many times you tell them to leave you alone or provide proof they continue to threaten.

As an addendum to this, yet another made up name Chantelle gives a generic response. Like the Cydney who emailed me. What next, Chardonnay or Chenise or Malbec etc etc. These people are charlatans and bullies and the bull they give of being experts in their field is a cover for people of dubious standing. How proud to work for a bunch of thugs who threaten people in dire need or are to weak to take on these ar##wipes. Have you noticed there is no direct email to this Chantelle. The name is Mr.Rossi, first names are unprofessional and depict a friendship which we do not have and never will. How can an imaginary person these people use fill you with any kind of trust? It is about time these companies were abolished, vultures looking for pickings at a massacre........

They have mailed me for a debt from unknown supplier.
I have tried to solve the issue by emailing them but I had to wait 6 days for their reply with zero information.
Update 8/2/2022: I was told that they are waiting the company to forward them the invoices etc. So I am adding 2 stars.

Told me that they will write of 20% of the bill. If I paid that day, I did now the company that was owed are waiting the 20% paid by me because it’s outstanding 😡
