We discovered a screw in one of our car's tyres yesterday after the tyre pressure monitor kept coming on. I spoke to TSG and they gave me the option of plugging or new tyre. I took the car up yesterday and they went for the plugging option as the puncture was far enough from the rim. No cost of new tyre ! My wife needed the car that evening for work. The job was dealt with very quickly despite work being done to other vehicles. We have been going to them for over ten years and they are honest, hard working and always friendly. I cannot recommend them enough

I contacted TSG Motors Ltd because my car would not start. They jumped the vehicle and drove it to their garage, stating they would diagnose whether the issue was the battery or the alternator and call me back with the results.

However, no one called me. When I proactively called them at 4:00 PM the following day, I was shocked to be told that a new battery had already been ordered without my knowledge, consent, or any confirmation of the diagnosis. I was then presented with an unexpected bill of £120.

This is extremely important because under the UK Consumer Rights Act, a garage has no legal right to execute chargeable work or order parts without the customer's explicit prior agreement on the price.

When I challenged this lack of transparency, the mechanic became incredibly rude and hung up the phone on me. When I spoke to them again, they used a hostile ultimatum—stating they would strip the new battery out and leave me to drive it home with my dead battery unless I paid the unagreed price. This is exactly what ended up happening: they put my old battery back in, left the engine running, and I had to drive it straight home. The complete lack of communication, unauthorized ordering of parts, hanging up on a customer, and aggressive attitude make this garage completely untrustworthy. Avoid at all costs, and if I could give zero stars I would!
