Premium Plus - Home Moving FAIL
Paid for the Premium plus packing & unpacking service, thinking we could do without the stress of moving. BIG MISTAKE!
Firstly, they loaded up their trucks with our entire house and decided it was a good time to take a 1.5 hour lunch break with all our items sweating in the truck (plants, food stocked fridge and freezer as well)
Upon arrival at our new house, we had maintenance issues in the kitchen, so we asked the guys not to unpack there - which we take full responsibility for.
However, the overall care and handling with the rest of the items was appalling & there is no excuse for the abysmal after-sales customer service.
My wife’s wedding dress was left crumpled on the bed intertwined with our dog’s bedding. Our dog’s used pee pad was put into my wife’s wardrobe with her clothes. Clothes that were pre-packed and neatly folded, were delivered completely creased shoved into draws and shelves.
Curtains were left rolled up on a chair in our bedroom. Mover’s blood stains were left on the surface of our chest of drawers. Our living room, bathroom & master bedroom were left with boxes unpacked. Cables were rolled up and tossed into corners.
Coffee and olive oil were spilt all over our kitchen items & electronics. Bleach & cleaning products were packed in the same box as food. Our fridge was badly dented. Our AED650 cat tree was broken. (This alone was worth more than the amount that they were offering to refund)
Suffice it to say, the entire experience was anything but “stress-free”
We were refunded a small amount, after 3.5 weeks of constant follow ups, but this did not even come close to cover the cost of the damage, let alone the cost of pressing all of our items that were badly creased in the move.
As per their responses to only the 5star reviews, they claim to be ‘obsessed with customer satisfaction and go above and beyond to achieve it.’ Based on our experience, this couldn’t be further from the truth.
We were also also left to deal with the ‘subcontracted’ company ourselves, despite hiring Trukker and never being advised or agreeing to another company being used.
The company did send the men back to help us unpack a second time, but the attention to detail and care of our items was just as bad, if not worse, than the first time. We ended up telling them to leave and doing most of the unpacking ourselves, so much for paying AED1000 extra for a Premium unpacking service.
