Policy change surprises - AVOID!
After a year as a regular customer, I finally reached the point where I could no longer tolerate the experience with the Panama bank, Towerbank. Over time I put up with very high and increasing international wire fees, slow and disorganized customer support across email, WhatsApp, and even through a dedicated representative, and a glitchy mobile app that I reported multiple times. The debit card experience was also odd and outdated, with no Apple Pay or Google Pay support, which is unacceptable in 2026.
The final straw was learning sudden and secret internal policy implementation as of the start of this year, which limits who you can send or receive money from, effectively restricting your freedom to transact and steering clients toward higher fee channels. After moving half a million dollars of volume through this bank last year, I decided to withdraw all my funds and take my private banking elsewhere. I will not be recommending or referring anyone here going forward. For anyone considering this bank as a crypto friendly option, I strongly suggest reconsidering.
