We booked our wedding in stella palace, crete through the wedding travel company ,once we booked up with Sarah,we were introduced to Sue,who helped plan our big day ,we had the most amazing day !we where skeptical about booking an abroad wedding but sue made the whole experience effortless,she went above and beyond to plan our day with us ! I’ve had such a fantastic experience with Suzanne Cranmer! She has been so helpful, informative and supportive throughout the whole planning process.

Suzanne always replies to my messages so quickly… even when she’s meant to be out of office! Nothing ever feels like too much trouble, and she has always given me the best advice, especially at times when I honestly didn’t have a clue what I was doing.

Planning a wedding abroad can feel overwhelming, but Suzanne has made the whole process feel so much easier and has always been there to reassure me, answer my endless questions and guide me in the right direction.

We got married in Malta in May 2026 and our wedding was genuinely incredible. However, I want to make clear that this was because of Mirraine and the fantastic team in Malta. Unfortunately, our experience with WTC throughout the two years leading up to it was completely different.

We already knew which venue we wanted to book, so I cannot really comment on this part of the service, though I remember the sales rep being quite rude and extremely pushy about securing the date.

Over those two years, WTC were virtually non-existent. I genuinely cannot even remember the name of the WTC planner allocated to us — that is how little contact we had.

From our experience, it felt like once they get your deposit (and get their commission) the service disappears. They weren't checking in, asking for updates or seemingly keeping track of where we were. There was no sense that somebody at WTC was overseeing our wedding journey and making sure everything was progressing.

Once we'd been put in contact with Malta, it felt as though WTC considered their involvement largely done. The exception seemed to be when payment was required.

There were no regular "How are things progressing?", "Anything you're waiting for?" or "Have you completed X, Y or Z?" check-ins. The actual planning, guidance and support came directly from Malta.

We weren't expecting WTC to do everything — we expected oversight. Someone checking deadlines, making sure meetings were happening, communicating with Malta and guiding us through the journey we'd paid a destination wedding specialist to help us navigate.

The legal process is a perfect example. Malta gave us helpful guidance, but I don't recall WTC ever checking whether our important paperwork was completed or on track. Not doing it FOR us — simply checking it had been done.

I also had to chase WTC FIVE times just to get our first meeting with the Malta planners arranged. By the stage we should have had THREE planning appointments, we'd had ONE. There didn't seem to be anyone keeping track of whether their own timeline was being followed. Again, just another example of the lack of communication between WTC & Malta, meaning again we ended up organising these ourselves.

We also had an issue over additional guest pricing. We were quoted a price by WTC, which we budgeted around. We were later told it was significantly higher and asked to pay immediately — around £900 extra.

We challenged this and initially received pushback. It wasn't until we formally complained that it was properly investigated, and Tracy (after sales Manager) found evidence confirming we HAD been quoted this price. We weren't asking for a discount — simply for WTC to honour the price their own team had given us.

That £900 had been allocated to our videographer. Had we simply paid this, we wouldn't have had our wedding filmed. Thankfully we challenged it and now have those memories forever.

This summed up our frustration: very little urgency around planning our wedding, yet sudden urgency when payment was required.

I understand why we chose a destination wedding company. You assume they'll take some workload away, guide you and act as the link with the overseas team.

But based on our experience, we may as well have booked directly with Malta. Once connected, we communicated and worked with them ourselves and WTC had no further involvement.

By the time our wedding arrived, WTC didn't even cross our minds because they'd been so absent. We received no message before the wedding — no final check-in or even "Have an amazing day". Afterwards? Still nothing. No congratulations or asking how it went. For a company we'd trusted with such an important event, I think that speaks volumes.

Thankfully, Mirraine and the Malta team were the complete opposite. They delivered the most incredible wedding and we cannot thank them enough. Our wedding was everything we'd hoped for — I just cannot credit WTC for making that happen.

My advice is to look specifically for reviews from couples who have completed the ENTIRE planning process and had their wedding. (Not just the 5* reviews they ask you to write straight after booking).

I would also seriously explore booking directly with the planners in your destination. They are the true heroes!

Our wedding was incredible. Unfortunately, our experience with WTC was not.

Enquired about booking a wedding and found Eliza the adviser that called me quite rude. Felt like from the start of the call she was putting me off but proceeded to tell me they were the no. 1 wedding planners. Not sure how they actually get bookings with that attitude from the start but will definitely be booking elsewhere.

From start to finish, the wedding travel company was absolutely amazing! Everything was completely straightforward, from initially booking our wedding in Cyprus to sorting out all the finer details along the way. Communication throughout the entire process was fantastic—a special shoutout to Suzanne, who was incredible. Anything we needed, she was always there to help, and even our last-minute changes were handled quickly, efficiently, and completely stress-free. I would highly recommend this company to anyone thinking about getting married abroad!

Proceed with extreme caution. My daughter had been eagerly anticipating her wedding in Greece, but due to medical reasons, she has had to reconsider. This is not a last-minute cancellation; the wedding was booked only four weeks ago for three years' time in 2030. As of now, The Travel Wedding Company has not incurred any expenses but is still charging my daughter £3,500 for cancelling. They may arrange a lovely wedding, but we will never know the standard of their weddings, as my niece, who was also planning to book with them, has chosen not to due to my daughter’s experience. If you commit to them, make sure you book exactly what you want the first time, because you will be charged for any amendments. It appears to be all about the money; the experience is not something that’s difficult to arrange. The true measure of any company lies in how they respond when challenges arise, and they are failing spectacularly in this regard.

We had our destination wedding in Sorrento on 03/09/26.
Our ceremony was at the Cloisters of San Francesco and our evening reception at the Forgeiners club.
It was honestly the best day of our lives.
Everything was perfect.

We booked our wedding through the wedding travel company and they have been extremely helpful with booking our wedding in sorrento.

We have just returned home from our wedding and I honestly don’t think I have the words to describe how perfect it was. It was everything we had ever dreamed of and more. A huge part of that is thanks to the incredible Fatima.

From the very beginning Fatima went above and beyond to make our wedding everything we had imagined. She took care of every detail, ensured everything ran seamlessly, and took away all the stress allowing us to simply relax and enjoy every precious moment of our special day.

I genuinely cannot thank Fatima enough for everything she has done for us. She didn’t just plan our wedding, she made our dream a reality. She was there for us every step of the way, her care, dedication and attention to detail were truly exceptional.
What makes it even more special is that Fatima has become so much more than our wedding planner, she has become a very special family friend and we feel incredibly lucky to have met her. We love her dearly and will always be so grateful that she was part of one of the most important and happiest days of our lives.

Our wedding day was truly the best day of my life and I will treasure those memories forever. Knowing that Fatima was there to make sure everything was perfect gave us the freedom to be fully present and enjoy every second.

If you are dreaming of a wedding in Sorrento and want someone who genuinely cares, incredibly dedicated and will go above and beyond to make your vision a reality I cannot recommend Fatima highly enough.

Our actual wedding in Cyprus was absolutely amazing, but I would never book through The Wedding Travel Company again.

We chose a specialist wedding company because we expected organisation, communication and reassurance. Instead, I spent far too much of the build-up to our wedding chasing for information and worrying about arrangements.

We were also their first wedding of the season, yet at times it honestly felt like we were the test run.

One interaction particularly stuck with me. With the threat of war and escalating conflict in the region before we travelled, I contacted them because I was understandably worried about whether Cyprus and our wedding could be affected.

I wasn't asking them to predict the future. I simply wanted some reassurance. Instead, the response was essentially “if anything happens, we'll let you know”, delivered in a way I found snappy and completely lacking in empathy. I was made to feel like a bridezilla simply for being concerned about my wedding and family travelling abroad.

Communication continued to be poor, and when we arrived we had been given two single beds despite being there to get married, our family was scattered around the hotel and my daughter's room had a leak.

This was a major overseas wedding with a large group travelling, a wedding package and additional decorations. I expected a company specialising in weddings abroad to understand the practicalities and importance of what they were organising.

Afterwards, I went through their formal complaints process rather than immediately leaving a negative review. That got me nowhere satisfactory, and eventually I was left with the option of paying to pursue it further through ABTA arbitration.

I'd already given them enough of my time.

Our wedding was incredible, but that doesn't excuse the service surrounding it.

The Wedding Travel Company should have made organising our wedding easier, not more stressful.

Would I get married in Cyprus again? Absolutely.

Would I ever book through The Wedding Travel Company again? Absolutely not.

We have recently booked our wedding in Greece with the travel company & Angel has been very efficient and attentive throughout the process. Thanks for your help in getting us to this point. We look forward to our wedding in 2028
