Great Customer Service

Really poor experience

Really poor experience. I have a degree in medical science and an A Level in physical education - the curriculum, training, staff and level of standards for The Training Room is really poor. If you want to be a PT I really recommend going through a better route - this WILL NOT give you what you need UNLESS you’re already competent and just need the qualification… even then I’d still strongly advise anyone to go with another company. If I could give zero stars I would.

Tutors make things difficult

The course revision structure is very fashioned and robotic. You will become familiar with one tutor then next minute they have left the company. The tutor will then be replaced by somebody who takes weeks to reply. Feel ripped off paying for this. Got my qualification else where

Awful, should be taken to court!

They should NOT be allowed to be operating, they went into administration and now re opened as some sort of gym and instead of refunding me they are sending me letters demanding money and threatening me! Disgusting they should not be allowed to be operating! Stay away!!!!!!!

Absolutely awful

Absolutely awful. No support whatsoever, then it turns out they have gone into administration and have not heard from them since. I have tried to contact them many times regarding a refund, however no one is answering the phone or emails. Scam company who should be shut down.

Wasted time and money, lies and false promises

Joining The Training Room was one of the worst decisions I’ve made.

In 2021, after deciding to pursue web development, I was contacted by a TTR sales rep who sold me the Full-Stack Web developer course. I was misled—promises were made that either didn’t materialize or were outright lies.

The course cost me over £2000, and with a full-time job, I was told it would take just three months to complete. In reality, it took nearly two years, with me working evenings and weekends. The course's time limit was two years, which could be extended. This is time and money I’ll never get back.

One of the main selling points was learning React, a highly sought-after JavaScript library. The sales rep emphasized its importance, claiming there was a shortage of developers skilled in React, which would give me a competitive edge. However, after finishing the first half of the course, React was nowhere to be found. After following up, I was told it would be covered in the second half, but when that arrived nearly a year later, React was still missing. I was then told it had been removed entirely because students complained it was outdated. They offered no refund, instead offering the outdated module if I requested it.

Some of the instructions or information given throughout the course was incorrect our outdated, I would be required to contact the tutor who would provide me with the necessary workaround or correct information, yet sometimes I would wait days or even weeks to hear back from the tutor. A lot of time was lost because of this.

Career support was another key promise. The sales rep assured me that TTR had connections with major tech companies like Twitter, HP, and Facebook, and would arrange interviews for me. When I finished the course, I contacted the third-party company, Hatch Digital, who were supposed to help. Instead, I was given links to two jobs listed on job boards. One was for a software developer position, which was completely unrelated to the web development skills I’d learned, and the other was a Web developer role an hour away. I applied but heard nothing back. After following up, I was told I would only be contacted if something else came up. I agreed to expand my job search radius, and that was the last I heard from them.

Two years of so-called career support, and despite countless applications, I haven’t landed a single interview. I could go on, but I plan to file a formal complaint with the company.

Edit: A reactive change of management does not absolve the company of the poor service and quality of product that I received. Am I just supposed to accept this massive loss of time and money because they went into administration and changed management ? (while I was completing a course with them I might add..) If the company is improving on their service and tarnished image from the prior management, then how do they intend to make this right?

Signed up to a course for 4K and guess what didn’t get anywhere with it.
Out of 60 people 5 would be chosen for the job for a data company before signing up I asked if I don’t get the role will there be other opportunities they clearly said yes they are linked with millions of companies and nothing happens after
I am now trapped paying 4K and no communication from them what so ever this was back in 2021 we are now in 2025
They are just scam artist please please avoid DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY WITH THEM

Disappointing Lack of Empathy and Support from The Training Room

I enrolled in The Training Room’s Level 2 Gym Instructor and Level 3 Personal Training courses on January 27, 2022, with a three-year completion period. Unfortunately, life took an unexpected turn when I suffered a near-fatal accident on April 18, 2024, leaving me in a coma for 10 days and with severe injuries, including a fractured pelvis, subdural hematoma, multiple broken ribs, and a punctured lung. My recovery was extensive, requiring me to relearn basic functions like walking and eating, but despite these challenges, I remained committed to my studies and completed over 80% of the course.

As the course deadline approached, I reached out to The Training Room to request an extension, providing comprehensive medical documentation to explain my situation. Their response was unsympathetic and dismissive, declining my request without a valid justification. Despite their own policy indicating that students who completed at least 80% of the course would be eligible for an extension, they ignored their own criteria and refused to offer any flexibility. Their email also stated that no appeals would be considered, demonstrating a complete lack of support for students facing extraordinary circumstances.

It is deeply disappointing to see an educational provider display such a lack of compassion and understanding. Genuine institutions should recognize legitimate and well-documented reasons for delays, particularly when those reasons involve life-altering injuries and medical recovery. The Training Room’s refusal to accommodate even a modest extension suggests a rigid, impersonal approach to student welfare.

For anyone considering enrolling in a course with The Training Room, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. There are many other course providers with higher ratings, better student support, and more flexibility for those who encounter unforeseen challenges.

This company consistently responds to negative reviews with a standardized, generic statement rather than addressing concerns individually.

I do Not recommend this company.

I asked so many questions before starting this course and my main concern was that once I signed I would not get support. I was told absolutely I would get support, however, that was not the case. I have found the new learner experience very poor!

I asked for assistance finding the self-test option on my screen and was told to contact my tutor. I had no idea I had a tutor as no one contacted me and It is quite a process to find who they are. I messaged my tutor who said he's not my tutor and my work can be passed to anyone. His email was quite condescending.

I also did not know that I had to book the assessments and was waiting a while to find out how.

No one answers the phone, There is one member who looks after the course enrolments who signed me up is nowhere to be found, I mean the list goes on.
I am very disappointed, I was looking forward to this course.

I do NOT recommend this company, terrible experience.

If you respect your mental health think twice.

I’m writing to update you on my situation. After nearly two weeks of waiting for my videos to be marked, I received the news that I have failed and cannot resubmit, despite submitting them on time and following guidelines. This disregard for my efforts and the support I requested, including the EHP plan, is unacceptable.

I’ve spent £2000 on this course, and your lack of empathy and support has left me feeling completely unsupported. Automated responses with no real effort to address my concerns highlight the unprofessionalism of this company.

I have removed the names as requested, out of courtesy, but I will not make any further changes. I see others have included names without issue, so I expect equal treatment. I will be speaking to a lawyer and sharing my experience publicly.

This company has made my life a misery, and I demand to be treated fairly and with respect. Please address this matter seriously and leave me alone if no further support is offered. The absolute audacity, nonsense.... Honestly they don't even deserve zero stars they deserve minus. Despicable....

I signed up for the level 3 personal…

I signed up for the level 3 personal trainer course a few months before they went into administration and taken over.
When I signed up to the course, the “sales” team were very enthusiastic to get me signed up, lots of emails, phone calls with information etc, but I must say as soon as I was signed up and paid, I had 1 email from my tutor with a few poorly laid out excel and word sheets, and then nothing…… no further check ins or anything. I slowly made my way through the online course but found it all very confusing. The “LAP” that we had to complete was a little all over the place. When I emailed my tutor with questions, I would get an email back that seemed to answer everything but my original question. Time went on and numerous more emails sent to which I had no reply. Resulting me searching the training room website for their customer service details, this is when I discovered they went into administration and had been taken over?! Very strange all existing students had no information about this considering this course cost just short of £2000. Getting in touch with their customer service team questioning if I am still enrolled onto the course, to my relief they replied saying yes, and assigned me to a different tutor, thankfully this tutor was brilliant, replied instantly and was very knowledgable and reassuring. As I was getting closer to the finish line of the course, I got in touch with my tutor to say I’ll be filming my final videos, and asked a few questions, I got no reply, a couple months went by, I then had to get back in touch with customer services to ask what’s going on, I then found out my tutor had left! (Again, no communication about this) and they assigned me to my 3rd tutor, who again, was very good and helped my through finishing my course.
In summary, I finished my Level3 with the training room, but the course was by no means a smooth ride, and considering I completed a chunk under the “new” management, I found the communication appalling, especially with tutors leaving and having no email or phone call to say so.
I was down to complete a level4 nutrition course with them, but after the countless delays and stress from my Level3, I decided to take the loss of money and deal no further with the training room.
