Stunning location shame the pub wasn’t the same. Second visit, second chance on service and the same poor non smiling don’t want you there staff. Won’t be coming back. I’ll take my boat into Henley instead.

Found service very slow, waiting one hr exactly for our dinner, looked over cooked especially the roast potatoes, my husbands beef roast dinner was supposed to be pink was well done. No one to check on us or keep us updated, quite surprised as we’ve been many many times before, always had no complaints. Shame really.

This used to be a decent pub restaurant. It has a great location on the river. We hadn't been for a while so we thought we'd check it out. It is dreadful. My wife ordered Sea Bass and I had seafood linguine. Both were terrible; tasteless and bland. The service was even worse; with the exception of one young chap; the staff are surely and unhelpful. What a shame, the location deserves so much better.

My veggie burger turned up cold
I asked for mayo
20 mins later the mayo came
Others had to wait for food
I asked for a replacement as food was cold
The food came back 2 mins later microwaved including burger bun.
Inedible trash
No apologies no refund no food eaten
£ 21 out of pocket and staff ran off after pointing out the errors.

I’m disgusted that no resolution was offered and the treatment of our party was shocking. Whoever is the landlord, learn to manage!
Rockingham is loads better

Been to GandD many times always enjoyed the food, very tasty and plentiful at a reasonable price. However, on last visit we chose our table but had to ask a member of staff to bring a cloth as it was sticky from previous spilled drink. The table next to us the chap was using a vape blowing out our way, this made us feel very uncomfortable. Also, we saw a couple of dogs on leads that came into the area we sat. So, a little disappointed with our last visit.

Booked a deluxe double room, but on arrival was given keys to a pokey twin room which did not match the online description. Decided not to stay after owner/manager confirmed to me and booking.com that I would be refunded. I'll update this review when I can confirm I have been refunded.
UPDATE: still no refund after 4 weeks. I now have the hassle of getting a refund via the credit card company. The room description on booking.com has not been updated to match the actual room, so I now believe this is a case of intentional mis-selling. The rooms do NOT have a view or a terrace, and are described as deluxe doubles, when they are actually hugely overpriced small twin rooms.

Pub in Tonbridge, great food, (highly recommend the hamburger, and the scampi), friendly staff, fun events on throughout the year, including live bands.

My husband and I had an early supper here, for the first time, on a weekday evening. Unsurprisingly it was not even half full, but that's the way we like it! Nice and quiet.
Yes, it is on the pricy side, but we found the food excellent. I had the fish and my husband had meat.
I agree with other reviews, staff in general could have been more professional, the usual inexperienced young staff with no training and no idea how to behave.

The guy serving behind the bar was great. The food we eventually got was extremely good. Unfortunately we had a wait of nearly a hour for our food to be served. We were not in a hurry but a sorry for the delay would have been appreciated. The same waitress was very rude regarding our dogs on our visit.

Fabulous to find somewhere where, as a coeliac, I can choose anything from the menu, and what a choice. The chef spoke to us about the specials (thai), and even brought out tasters so we could check the spice heat. The food itself was really great with generous sized portions.

Nice place inside . Very over priced. Rip off will not return crisps £1.90 blackcurrant and coke £3.90.

staff are okay,facilty is okay for me.location is superb. The downside is that the wifi signal is very poor. It is difficult to get a signal inside the room. I need to go outside to get a signal.

Service was warm friendly Layla our waitress was excellent the food was really tasty and well cooked reasonably priced spotless clean highly recommend it

Went to this pub yesterday staff were pleasant food was nice little bit pricey I had double vodka and coke £5.70 I thought not too bad
Then I decided to have a CAN of Diet Coke £2.50
What a rip off certainly won’t be going back again

We were four friends and four babies with no reservation on a Friday lunch time, however that was no problem at all for Ioana, who arranged a table with highchairs quickly for us and helped us all get settled. She was super attentive throughout our lunch. The food was excellent and we will most definitely be returning, just without the children next time!

Food was amazing as always pub is clean no issues there but my god the waitress needs a lesson in customer service and manners the basics please and thank yous won’t go amiss either

Had food with a friend at this establishment, although it was not as crowded as it usually is presume to the cost of living situation which is understandable, the food was excellent no complaints

I have found the quality of the food excellent and polite friendly service at the George & Dragon Epping excellent.

What I am not happy with is that I reserved a table in the drinking area for Friday night, but when arrived I noticed the table was being used by other customers.

I complained to the manager about this and her response was “people take off the name cards on the tables so what can I do?”

This is unacceptable and poor management skills. This caused inconvenience to me and my partner. The manager should have the authority to challenge any customer who removes a name card on a reserved table and if necessary remove the customer from the pub.

I would return to the pub because of the quality of the food and friendly service, and comfortable seating areas.

Some rude staff, Manager worse! And spoke to staff rude infront of customers. Fifthly dusty room and bathroom. Only nice thing was the beds was made up nice, however they was hard. The dining room in the pub had sticky tables. Breakfast orders was all wrong and when asked to be corrected was made to feel like it was our fault. Maybe the place was nice back in the day but not in this day.
