I was given a Square Meal voucher for Christmas, which I genuinely cannot spend. Despite Square Meals' claims, there is no list on the website of restaurants that accept vouchers, and no way to search that way on their site. For some reason they have an enormous list of pretty much every restaurant in London which makes it seem like they all accept the vouchers, and then you book a table and it turns out that they don't accept them at all, or you can only get a seat in their bar, but not in the full restaurant. If I could find a URL of a page which features restaurants which actually accept the vouchers, I would just book and go. What an incredibly frustrating and annoying gift to receive from someone who was trying to be generous. If anyone knows a restaurant that accepts these damn vouchers in North or central London that's worth going to please do let me know. I'd love to spend the hundred quid.

Treated my daughter to lunch in her lunch hour. We chose the steak from the lunch deal. The starter was great, much better than we expected. We both had the steak which was amazing. Perfectly cooked and very tender. Bonus was that we finished our meal in time for her to return to work, as requested. Definitely returning.

I see what the company was trying to do with the whole concept of gift vouchers linked to your card HOWEVER it just isn't as simple as it was advertised. There was a few issues. I got gifted a voucher from work for squaremeal and I will tell work never gift anyone this. It is the worst gift ever.

First problem was that not all restaurants accepted the smart vouchers. So you are limited by choice.

Second issue is that I did all the steps to ensure I get the money redeemed. It was suppose to be an automatic process but I haven't gotten an email to ask if I want to use the voucher and get my money back.

Third problem is that the website it horrible to navigate. There are several ways to get to the same page of a website but sometimes it doesn't have the filter bar so you cannot filter tot he restaurants that accept the voucher.

I am still getting in touch with squaremeal to try get my money back. I went to a restaurant I never wanted too but because it the was the only one near queens park that accepted the voucher and ended up spending £90 or food that I didn't enjoy. This is more stressful than it needs to be.

UPDATE: customer service did get back to my request after I sent a query form. They responded the next working day and swiftly sent me a link to allow me to use the £40 voucher my workplace gave me and I managed to get the money reimbursed into my bank account.

The service was swift so I could not fault them on that! Thank you team. However I personally don't like the concept of these gift voucher where you use your money first then getting reimbursed, so I left it at 3 stars mainly due to the concept of it all

Came to Gaucho Covent Garden for my husbands 50th birthday. Food was great, crab starter exceptional. Sadly no mention of my husbands birthday even though I’d sent a message beforehand.

The atmosphere is always great. Lovely cocktails and food. Staff excellent; very freindly and attentive.

A great experience as always, and no hanging around !

Food was the amazing and service really good

I would mark as zero if I could! Web site is very confusing, process is confusing. I have tried multiple times to book and had restaurants refuse the vouchers even when they were on the Squaremeal site as accepting vouchers. I tried calling restraints in advance but they weren’t sure of the process either. As a last attempt to salvage my gift vouchers I purchased items from the online shop using the vouchers but they charged my credit card instead! Complete sham, AVOID!

Everything about our visit to to The Crown was excellent with the exception of noisy children in the dining room. We moved back to a table in the bar to enjoy our desserts in peace.

Excellent food, service and prices

Bistro Freddie is truly lovely. The atmosphere is warm, friendly and happy. There's no blaring music to kill conversation, but it's noisy enough to be private. The style is Paris bistro meets Shoreditech trendy. The food is really good, an appetising menu prepared in front of you, so that you want everything. Particularly recommended are the cod, any steak specials, and the pie - which is for two. The side salad is fantastic and huge. The desserts look wonderful but I've never had space for one. The service -better called hospitality really - is great. You feel like you're an old friend. They are warm and welcoming, they look after you, when you want something else they appear. And it always seems to be full, which give the distinct impression that others share this view. I've eaten here multiple times, because you always know you'll have a great time, the food will be excellent, and you'll get to enjoy the company of those you are with just as if you were in the kitchen of one of you, in some sort of fantasy version of that Russell Crowe film where he's a rich city trader who's left an old house in Provence, goes there to sell it, and falls in love. Hugely recommend.

Scam website. Do not use this website. They allow you to book reservations at restaurants that do not even accept reservations. They will charge you a deposit, and when you get to said reservation, you will realise none of the sort exists. They even allow you to book a table at places which do not even accept reservations.

Good food good service good value a great lunchtime stop on a long journey

Was a great experience at Ilford Big Moe's with family; comfortable and spacious setting. Food didn't take ages to come, and when it did, kids loved it and nothing remained on the plates! Also parking in nearby extensive car park was very cheap; only £2 for 2 hours!
