Dreadful Customer Service
Bought a pole chain saw a year ago which was used once. The fitting between the pole and the motorised chainsaw is made of plastic and broke off making the saw useless, the support from Coreservice (Spear and Jackson) was shocking, broken promises and a complete lack of interest, you have been warned.
Great customer service
Have a wooden handle garden fork (10 year guarantee) which broke this weekend. Sent email with picture and already received a response that a replacement fork will be sent out. Great and efficient customer service!!!
The masonry paint is shocking
The masonry paint is shocking. Very thin and I needed three coats. Then days later, it rained and the paint ran. Very disappointed.

Spear & Jackson cordless mower battery failure - Argos and S&J both useless
Battery failed in October 2022 on my S&J cordless lawnmower model S2434CR bought at Argos. It *should* be covered under the 3 year guarantee but Spear & Jackson customer services and Argos are blaming each other. Meanwhile I still can't mow my lawn and am now looking at spending £69.99 on a replacement battery from a mower spares company online.
Very disappointed with the customer service from both parties.
My advice is avoid Spear & Jackson products purchased from Argos like the plague.

Shocking customer service.
I used a lawnmower 5 times and it hit on a rock - this is my error and that's not in question.
I contacted their CS to see if they can repair it for me, they said no as it's my error and they advised me to ask a local repair company. I contacted a few individuals who all said never to buy from them as all their parts are in China and a never available.
I emailed the support team to see if they could meet me halfway and send me the parts needed and they said they don't have them and can't do anything about it - HOW does the manufacturer NOT have parts to their own products?!
They consistently said that as it was my fault, they can't direct me to a store for a replacement or to fix.
They then advise I complain to Argos instead.
I am/was willing to pay for the parts and the repair but their support function is absolutely dire and so unhelpful. I won't be buying anything from this Brand again

This company has the best customer service I’ve ever come across in my 60 years. From the first email to them explaining my problem it was all resolved by midday the following day under its 10yr guarantee.

Brand new Steam Mop and Spear Jackson refuses garuntee
Bought a brand new sealed Steam Mop online. Used less than 5 times over approx a year and it stopped generating steam. Called Spear and Jackson and the lady outright refused to help, stating that they dont give any warranty and its only via where you guy it from. And then went on to try and insinuate it may not be new even thought I informed her it was a new and sealed unit. Basically trying to avoid honoring any guarantee on the product. Even though I told her I bought it mainly because it states clearly on the box that it has a 5 years guarantee. This is absolutely appalling and I cant believe a UK based firm advertises a 5 year guarantee but wont honor it themselves but pushes it onto the place of purchase only. What if the online place is out of business or wont assist ?
Insult to injury I only bought this mop because my elderly Mum is ill and struggles with a manual Mop ! First and last I will ever buy a product from them.

Wow! I purchased a garden digging fork 1570 AL in 2019. A great garden fork - the tines didn't bend :)
This week the head snapped off. I remembered it had a long guarantee so I got in touch with Spear & Jackson. I received a rapid response, asking for a photograph. As soon as they received the photo they undertook to provide a replacement, which arrived just 2 days later. Thank you Jane Attwood!

The s/steel fork is well made, so why use poor quality timber for the handle? It makes no sense...very disappointed 😥
Spear & Jackson Corded Leaf Blower
Bought Corded Leaf Blower via Argos in Oct 2020.
It has been used 8 times to collect dry leaves. On the 8th occasion the collection bag split at the top, due to poor stitching (you can see where it was stitched but thread must of ran out so was stitched again above the holes (creating a weak point) No problem I thought as it has a 3 year warranty.
Email sent to customer services at Spear & Jackson. Reply within hour to contact customer service at Positech as S&J licence the product to these guys to make it.
Email back from Positech to say Warranty does not cover the bag as its classed as a "Consumable"
Email to Positech to say manufacturing fault (Look at the photo)
Email back from Worx (? another chinese company) to say sorry no warranty claim as we dont know how many times you have used it ? (no mention of the obvious fault) but here is a link to buy a new bag !!
Email sent to all involved that I will publish my reviews on FB, Insta, You Tube, Trustpilot and also email the MD of Spear and Jackson.
Email back to me from S&J to say hold on lets see if we can sort this for you.........

A 10 year warranty that works!
I bought a garden fork about 3 years ago with a “10 year Warranty”….I did not have the receipt and couldn’t recall where I bought it, so when I sent in a photo of the bent Tine, I wasn’t hopeful….I couldn’t have been more wrong, friendly support people, no quibble replacement, I’m glad I made the purchase now and happy to leave a 5* review…..well done Spear & Jackson

Bought a S&J Electric Grass Trimmer from Argos only to find when assembling the product at home that the spool cap, a plastic injected molded part, could not fit the catch it was intended for, indicating zero quality control. S&J customer support could only suggest that I take the product back to Argos for a refund. They didn't seem bothered in the least that the product was completely useless.
Spear and Jackson dug me out of a hole!
I had a Select digging fork (5 years old) replaced as a defective tine broke. It was a really good tool.
Customer service were excellent; a very prompt, courteous - but succinct emailed response, asking for a couple of relevant details, an outline of what was needed to replace the fork and an expected timeline for replacement.
I received the replacement 8 days later - well within what I was expecting.
Brilliant service.
I could not recommend the customer service more highly.

Bought some razor sharp lawn edgers and the handle kept sliding off, contacted customer service and they couldn’t have been more helpful. Would definitely by this brand again only problem I have ever had but quickly sorted.

Load of rubbish hardly powerful enough to cut thin wood let alone logs .
Will cut ship lap but takes bloody ages that's how bad it is and very heavy with the two battery's.
