Absolutely don't buy anything from S P , no one will touch them for any out of warranty work , they senseless do not have any repair centres, DONT Buy.

Bought a lawn mower from Argos last year. Two of the clamping handles lost their retaining pins and I emailed S&J for replacements, they said they didn't deal with mower to email Core Services. Core services after asking for the model and Ser No said they don't deal with this, to conatct Argos. Rang Argos who gave me a number for S&J support, who would then pass me back to Argos for a replacement?? Rang the number they gave me, itsays they are open 9 - 5 Mon to Fri and then cuts out - It's 2:30pm on Friday. Needless to say S&J will not be getting anymore of my business.

Firstly it NOT CHARCOAL GREY. It is pale grey. Very thin so multiple coats required. You buy cheap you get cheap. Only sold at b+m I believe

Very disappointed with after sales service - my S& J lawnmore suddenly stopped working. No dealer appears to want to repair their products and there appears to be no after sales support. I was asked to take it back and ask for a replacement by their customer support service - cheaper that way!!

About 2+ years ago, I bought a Spear And Jackson 2 litre Pressure Sprayer. Used it a few times in the first year, cleaned it and put it away until recently. We are re decorating a room so wanted to wet the wall paper in order to strip it. Out came the pressure sprayer. filled with water and pumped up ready to go. Whilst walking from the kitchen to the front room the sprayer began spraying all on it's own but not from the nozzle, from the hole where the pump shaft enters the unit. This happened several times that day with water spraying every where it shouldn't. To cut a very long story short, I contacted S&J by email asking for advise. After an exchange of a few emails with a lady named Joyce I was amazed when she told me a brand new sprayer was on it's way as a gesture of goodwill. This is the finest treatment I have received from any company. To replace an item that is around 2yrs out of warranty is simply amazing customer service. S&J seem to have received poor reviews on here but I can only praise the polite friendly and efficient manner this lady dealt with the emails. To replace the item as a gesture of goodwill was simply fantastic. It is a pity more UK companies don't provide such a great customer service that Spear And Jackson have provided me with.

While in use I lost the bolt holding my folding saw together.
A quick phone call, part despatched (free!), saw repaired and back in use.

Bought their sand paper. Absolute rubish. Spend more time changing the sheet on my sander than I was sanding. Rips very, very easily. Paper is really too thin. Cheap but useless...

Border fork started to crack purchased in 2923 contacted customer services very helpful Tracy sorted a replacement and delivered by DX cannot fault the service I received Thank You Tracy

Brought the slate grey decking stain tried it on a small section of the decking which turned out to be a wise decision as after it rained most of it was washed off. Don't bother it's to expensive to waste!

Last weekend I painted my new fences with spear and Jackson charcoal paint,3 coats very happy with it,this morning after lots of rain last night,this morning, it has washed some of it off,back down to bare wood???anyone else had this problem,???

I have found Spear & Jackson fence pain excellent, much better than Ronseal and easily equal to Cuprinol, its such a pity it is not more widely available and by the way its much cheaper than either of these brands.

I bought grass trimmer yesterday. Came home put it in the charger battery burn Even my house plug as burn plz Aviod to buy this item plz I'm really disappointed to spend my £98. Really painful.. Avoid the items

Had a "Neverbend"stainless border fork with a 10 year guarantee and a prong broke after 4 years use. Contacted Spear and Jackson and sent proof of purchase and photo of broken item. A replacement was agreed and sent within 2 weeks.
Very pleasant staff on phone and very efficient

purchased one of their hover mowers feb this year, 12 month guarantee. Because the mower is too big and heavy to use , for me, I decided to sell it. But i needed to enquire whether the guarantee would be valid if i sold it on. I tried ringing one of their depts friday Recorded voice said open till 5pm,this was at 4.25pm then sorry we are now closed.!! Then rang them this morning.got an extremely rude person on other end of phone who did not allow me to finish a sentence without interrupting , very offhand, very rude. told me the guarantee is NOT valid on the mower if its sold to another person.That I will check with trading standards.the machine itself should carry the guarantee not who ownes it surely. May i suggest to spear and jackson they recruit staff capable of a professional and polite manner when talking to customers on the phone.
Will not buy your products again, god help customers who have to deal with their rude unhelpful staff!!!

2nd lawnmower now gone within 3 years / summers

I bought the 24V Cordless Grass Trimmer in November 2022. I was using the strimmer a few days ago for the first time this year, and after about 10 minutes of use it cut out and wouldn't start. After looking online for potential issues, I unscrewed the casing on the motor and spotted the problem fairly quickly. One of the two contacts to the motor has snapped and detached from the circuit board. I don't expect a product that's 16 months old to break like this. And given I bought it in November 2022, in reality it's had one summers use and that's it.

To make it worse, Spear and Jackson told me to take it back to Argos. Then Argos tell me it's not their problem as it's over 12 months since I bought it. What a joke. I won't be buying anymore products from Argos again after this, and obviously won't be wasting my money on Spear and Jackson tat either.

I had to come here today to review the excellent after-service I received from Spear & Jackson sales in Sheffield S4.
I called and spoke to a lovely lady (unfortunately, I forgot to ask her name) on Friday, March 22nd, regarding losing a bolt and wingnut of my pruner while in the garden. She took my name and address, and behold, today, Saturday, March 23rd, at 11 a.m., I had a parcel in my letterbox, which happened to be the part at no cost to me.
I want to say thank you to the lady and I appreciate the kindness and efficiency of the service, especially in these days of companies charging ridiculously for anything and everything. Thank you, guys, and you have a customer for life!

Despite my pressure sprayer being out of warranty, S&J provided a replacement part for this both speedily and at zero cost. Their brand remains as strong as ever to me.

Bought a Jackson & spear garden fork from Lidl lasted less than 10 seconds snapped fork clean off. I’m no muscle man but a granny so not through brute force. Disappointed especially with the price of it.

Great products and customer service. 10/10...
