Overpriced, Repetitive Merch and Annoying Staff

Paid £30 per ticket for entry to London film and comic con 2023 (used to be great fun....now overprice repetitve tat at extortionate prices and only place to sit is the filthy floor - also rubbish selection of food and what's worse the rude crew staff swarming around around Matt Smith made me feel like 1920s class system was still a thing....apparently we can't even look from a mile away. Its now becoming a event for the elite. Would not recommend...spend your money on groceries and watch the celebrities on TV instead xxx

A real disappointment

A real disappointment. Tickets were overpriced considering there was nothing really available but stalls for merchandise. Paying to go to a huge merchandise market might be OK for some but really missed any of the immersive experience and other fun (and inclusive) activities at Comic-Con. Avoid this awful event.

Another Showmasters unhappy customer……

I bought 4 tickets to see Clarke Gregg last year for the July 2022 London Comic Con, but as usual it was a no show from Clarke. I wanted a cash refund but I was told no, Shitmasters Events only give credit vouchers! So I have the vouchers but they have now exchange them for tickets to see him this year, but I am unable to go. PLEASE REFUND MY MONEY FOR THE TICKETS!!!!

Would strongly recommend avoiding any…

Would strongly recommend avoiding any events organised by showmaster. They take your money but if any issues arise they completely ignore you. Basically the way I see it they are obtaining money through deception and its amazing they are allowed to trade like this. Avoid if you don't want your money stolen.

Purchased 2 tickets to see Clark Gregg…

Purchased 2 tickets to see Clark Gregg in July 2022, the actor cancelled and the tickets "rolled over" for November. He has now cancelled again. I asked for a refund and didn't get any response other than my comment being deleted and I was blocked. Awful joke of a company, seems like a complete "con" indeed. Avoid.

Avoid purchasing from this company

Due to untimely passing of the queen, we asked Showmasters to refund our tickets or move us to an alternative event. Bear in mind that the police are discouraging unnecessary visitors to London due to the predicted crowds, showmasters refused to refund the tickets. Not only that, but the email reply was short and inconsiderate the grand scheme of what is going on. Avoid purchasing from this company at all costs.

Very poor customer service

Sadly, what should be a fun event is let down by the Showmasters customer service team. They don't reply to emails and they delete comments from social media calling them out on it. Apparently the social media team is run by volunteers who don't have a clue what's going on. If you order anything from these guys, triple check you've chosen the right photo/input the right details because you'll be ignored if you need to make any changes.

Avoid at all costs!

Would be a zero star rating... but unable to give that

I am owed over £500 in signatures and send in items that have not been returned between last October and now. Avoid at all costs, its disgraceful that they are so badly run when they seem such a big organisation. (over £1million in capital according to their accounts) They are all about getting the money in, and not customer service.

Refund of £95.00 still outstanding after 8weeks

I bought a photo ticket with William Shatner for the Star Trek Convention due in October this year. The Convention was cancelled and my entrance ticket was automatically transferred to LFCC in July, which I attended and enjoyed. BUT despite several emails requesting refund (including my original order number as requested) no replies as yet, I am still owed a £95.00 refund for the photo booking. Disgraceful service.

Disgusting and disgraceful bullies

Disgusting and disgraceful organisation, treat everybody like garbage and simply as cash cows. No care for anybody but themselves and their money, the owner is a creep and a bully. I was removed for no reason other than bullying and harassment, I was a carer for my disabled friend and they asked me to leave separating me from my carer. This company doesn’t listen to criticism and refuses to improve themselves. They treated the artists alley horrendously and their security are bullies and have been known to sexually harass people. The owner himself is a giant manchild who can’t take any criticism whatsoever, their refund system is illegal, offering vouchers instead of refunds after they broke the agreement themselves. No wonder they are slowly going out of business

dreadful customer service…avoid

Have received dreadful customer service from Showmasters. Sent an item in for signing for LFCC 8 July and sadly the guest was a no show. To be fair I got a refund fairly quickly but trying to get my item back is proving difficult. Be aware that Showmasters only prioritises the return of actual signed items (the ones they made money from). You are penalised if your item was not signed. So far I have waited nearly a month. When I emailed again I received a very curt reply, no apologies just the comment that “no one has complained before”. Well having read Trustpilot I think that’s a bit untrue. Avoid this company like the plague if you value efficiency, politeness and anything vaguely resembling customer care.

Showmasters let themselvs down....

I go to comic cons all over the world, without a shadow of a doubt Showmasters are the worst company to deal with.

It is widely known and accepted that some guests will be more popular than others and they just can't do autographs for everyone who wants one sometimes.

One idea was to offer 'virtual' que tickets - you go to the signing area and are given a number - they then call numbers up to a given number to avoid mass queing.

This means to get a low number you will have to que from about 6am, then when the halls open there is a mad and sometimes quite dangerous scramble with hundreds literally running up narrow stairways to the signing area.

They then came up with a guest 'diamond pass' - a package which includes a photo shoot and autograph and in some instances a talk ticket where the guest is doing one. This was supposed to guarantee you getting that guests signature. However, you pay a sometimes very steep premium for this. I should point out that unlike most other comic cons, you cannot pre-purchase an autograph with Showmasters, the diamond pass is the only way to do this.

As an example, let's say an autograph would be £50 on the day, the photoshoot £50 and talk £20, so that's £120, the diamond pass could be priced at something like £150, so a £30 premium. To offset this most come with a 'gift'. But, you expect to get the signature.

So a few years ago they had Robert Englund doing a photo shoot in full make-up as his character Freeddy Krueger. So I bought a diamond pass, only to be told on the day he would not be signing. The fact was the time it would take for him to be made-up, do the shoot, get the make-up taken off, do his talk, along with breaks and lunch, it was never going to happen. Add to that the amount of DP's they sold.

So I was offered a voucher for the value of the autograph. However, I said the whole DP premium should be refunded as I could have booked the photoshoot and talk in advance without this (it's only the autos you can't pre book except as part of the DP).

They refused saying I had the 'gift' - a t-shirt that will never fit me which i offered to give them back.

Unfortunately, as with people buying season tickets for the footie teams, people buy with their heart and not head with these things and Showmasters are well aware of this.

You also get banned from their forum if you dare say anything remotely negative - I got banned for bringing this issue up.

It is widely accepted that guests may have to cancel - no problem with that, it's the nature of their business, they don't work 9 to 5! Schedules change. However, if you book something which cancels, you are legally entitled to a refund. Showmasters instead offer a voucher with a refund only after...2 years! Messages to them are largely ignored.

I should say there are a couple of things they do get right - your photos are printed in the photoshoot area so if there are issues like blinking you can have it taken again - at Wales they make you go to a different room and by the time you get your photo the guest's shoot has usually finished and it's too late to have it taken again.

Also, they don't charge for selfies - it's the guest discretion on the whole. Most cons are now charging a fortune, Monopoly's events are far better organised and a nicer atmosphere, but some selfie prices yesterday were through the roof. Showmasters do also try to offer some guests at very reasonable price - one guest from a very famous movie about a time-travelling car was priced at £20 for auto, the same guest is £35 at Monopoly's upcoming shows, and they will likely be charging for selfies with her too, at London we had these for free and still paid for the pro shoot as well.

They advertised guests from the cancelled Star Trek show for London Comic Con instead, however one said he was never booked for London and they shouldn't of done this, people who then paid for this guest were refused refunds! Vouchers again, which most did not even receive in time to use at London, meaning Showmasters were just sitting on their monies.

It's a shame Showmasters let themselves down with this arrogant and dismissive treatment of customers.

London Film and comic con shambles!!

Attended London Film and Comic Con on Saturday 9th July 2022 and it was a shambles!!
This terrible experience is purely down to the event organisers Showmasters and not Olympia as the event was vastly oversold and incredibly poorly organised. We felt like sardines in a tin from the moment we arrived, twenty plus minute queues for a bottle of water and there were even queues just to use the damn stairs!
We came to see two specific celebrities but their queues were a joke and it was clear they were oversold as well. Didn't manage to see either of them despite paying for their tickets which was over £120 combined and on top of all this, Showmasters denied any responsibility for the event being oversold and terribly run, plus they don't offer refunds so i'll never see that money again. Profit grabbing and incredibly poorly organised and staffed event. I shan't be attending another one of their events again

Most reviews seem to have no understanding of how these shows work

There are no meet and greets. The diamond pass is for a photo and autograph. Not a fast lane into the show or an extended time with guest.

Food costs are set by venue or stands not organisers

With proper planning you can get the maximum out of the show with no stress at all. Big guests included

I sent the team the following email 2 weeks ago the moment I left their awful event and never got a response so I’m hoping that this review will help people avoid using such an awful company!

Hi there,

I am writing this email to express my extreme disappointment at the treatment that I received at the Saturday Comic Con day.

I paid for a Saturday Diamond Pass to ensure a photo and a signature from David Harbour, my partner had GA tickets. We both got to the venue for 09:00. My partner was inside by 09:15, I didn’t get inside until 10:25.

My M&G with David was one of the first slots so I was panicked that I wasn’t going to meet him. After the most painful interaction with one of your staff members, I was finally directed to the area where the meet and greet was. There wasn’t a single ordered line or queue, it was a massive free for all crowd gathered around this one singular closed off booth. Having people from the event SCREAM at you from across the room that this is where you need to go, is very unprofessional. The amount of people I had to push past in order to get to my place in the queue, including disabled and vulnerable people was just disgusting.

Now I knew going into this that David Harbour was going to be very very popular. However, getting less than 2 seconds with the man is now exactly what I would consider a meet and greet. I wanted to tell him how him and his wife inspired my partner and I to get married in Vegas. When I did that, I was shouted at by one of the stewards AND the photographer to hurry up. Do you have any idea how embarrassing that really is?

We left and my partner joined the queue to meet him as he paid £70 for a photo opportunity only to be turned away and told that there was no time for David to meet everyone and that he could come back the next day for another chance, when we already made plans for the Sunday and they didn’t offer a refund on the spot.

And then onto the actual signature part. Again, not a single queue structure in site, just crowds of people trying to push their way to meet a man that would only be there for 30 more minutes. My ticket clearly stated that I was allowed 1 signature and the chance to purchase 2 more when I got to the booth. When it was my chance to get stuff signed, 2 ladies on a table just before David looked at the 3 times I was carrying and said yep you are absolutely fine to get those signed head on up. I get to David, only to be told by the lady right next to him that due to ‘’not having bought the vouchers’’ that I wouldn’t be able to get anything else signed. I specifically ask the two ladies just before this if I needed to do anything to get all my items signed as I KNEW I had to pay and they both said it was absolutely fine. So this is the second time in a day I was stood in front of a man I adored being mugged off by your incompetent staff. And the worst part is David had to apologies on their behalf for their poor treatment.

After 3 hours I had absolutely had enough and was ready to go home but before I did that, I realised I never got my diamond pass gift bag. It wasn’t handed to me at the entrance and it wasn’t anywhere to be found on the convention floor. I asked one lady who told me she had no idea where I could collect it from and to ask someone else who might know the answer. I ask a gentleman who says the exact say thing.

So I really need you to clarify something for me;
1 – Where do you get off charging me £196 for somethin and treating everyone like crap on the day?
2 – Why weren’t the gift bags easily accessible?
3- Why did it take over an hour of queuing to get into the building when we paid EXTRA money to ensure a faster line?

As a resolution, I would like a refund for my partner of the £70 he paid in order to meet David and never got to do, his details will be at the bottom of this email. I would also like the gift bag that I was due to receive to be posted to my home address as its something I paid for, therefore its my property so you need to make adequate plans in order to get this over to me.

You as a company should be beyond ashamed of yourself with the treatment you showed the guests and us as customers.

I really hope you do better next time.

Disgusting shambles

My partner attended their recent London Film and Comic Con and the whole thing was a shambles! He has now been block from commenting on their FB page after leaving a comment explaining why he had such a poor experience. A company that cannot take constructive criticism has no business operating. Their event bordered on dangerous in the heat and the staff were rude and even aggressive at times with paying customers. So many people left this event disappointed and feeling scammed!

Showmasters are s**t

Right; where shall I begin! Booked 4 tickets to destination star trek in October. Suddenly receive emails informing me I have 4 complimentary tickets (ha ha) for re scheduled at a different venue for a date in July which I couldn't attend. Also wasn't a specific star trek event they just crammed it into a general comic con event. Been emailing them etc ever since for a full refund as I didn't cancel they did! No joy at all and worse still my grandson kindly bought me a ticket for a photo with William Shatner which of course was also cancelled, and he wasn't attending rescheduled event anyway. My grandson is still waiting for his refund too. Will never book anything else through them. Disgusting service.

Absolute disgrace of a company

Absolute disgrace of a company. Amanda Tapping cancelled her appearance at LFCC 2022, then they refused a refund & refused us to see someone else with the money we paid for Amanda Tapping! Disgusting. Then, we waited inline for over an hour to buy autograph vouchers only to be told there were none left yet the bloke behind the desk was counting them? Nothing but liars. They oversold the event (which is still dangerous due to covid), the organisers and staff were very rude & would argue with you continuously. They have no passion or respect for people spending money. RUDE RUDE RUDE people. Do not ever go to an event by these people again, they should be shut down. Absolute conning disgusting, disgraceful company with awful rude people working for them. The bloke behind the table flogging vouchers was the one who got me, he was so rude & I honestly hated talking to him. If I was rude back I’d have been thrown out. Disgrace & an utter disappointment of a company. I will never pay money to them again & I usually go to all events. #CANCELLFCC #CANCELSHOWMASTERS

Absolutely disappointed and…

Absolutely disappointed and heartbroken. Literally everything for the event was oversold. The main star guests were neglected, used, and even yelled at. You couldn't even believe it unless you were there. The staff was severely undertrained and clueless, the queues took HOURS and got very dangerous with people fainting due to the heat and lack of water (only about 4 venues selling water and the queues were extremely long). Queued over an hour to buy autograph vouchers only to find out the staff ran out of them and had no idea how to get more.

one big CON!

i guess it’s called comic con for a reason… it’s one big massive con! absolutely poor organisation. there was no queuing system. no order to the day at all. the staff were useless and rude. the guests that appeared at the con were clearly exhausted, not having long enough breaks or possibly none at all because too many tickets were sold making them forced to rush. staff members at one point were shouting at one of the guests to speed them up when interacting with a child. im absolutely devastated and feel so incredibly sorry for the guests that had to go through the overwhelming stress and being super over worked. not fair to the fans that spent over hundreds of pounds to be there and not fair at all to the guests who took time out of their own schedule to be there. absolutely disgusted.
