I bought a 2011 BMW 520D Tourer just before Christmas. Fantastic car in almost brand new condition. Really good price, full leather every auto couldn't be happier. Had a smell of fumes getting in after a while of driving, they sorted for me and gave me a courtesy car. I've seen some negative reviews but I'd have no hesitation buying again. Thanks Jim, David and team.

Called company regarding my non runner smart car , I was very honest with them from the start they gave me a price and I received the money within 30 minutes . The guy who collected my car was very friendly checked the body work and as I said I was very honest from the beginning explaining what was wrong and the bodywork of the car . Car was taken away no fuss . Will definitely recommend this company . Thank you +++++++

Sorry but anyone complaining about their Scrap Car service is just naive or expecting far too much from their vehicle. Had an offer on a Jaguar XJ6 with a U/S engine. They asked lots of questions about the car before making the offer. Just be honest or if you don't know what the car is like tell them that, but don't expect lots of money for something that you haven't described correctly (which seem to be the theme running through other Reviews). Collection driver turned up on time when he said, spent quite a bit of time looking round the vehicle and took a video, which he said he'd send to his office. Got a call back from their office 5 minutes later and had a brief conversation and they paid the full price that they had originally offered. Money was transferred immediately and before they started loading the car up. Good work guys and thank you.

Bought an Audi a3 s line in January 2022. The price was quite high but apparently because the timing belt was replaced with all other parts (water pump, shaft seal, oils pump belt etc.) so I was ok with it. 3 years later after doing 25 000 miles I’m finding out well it wasn’t quite right. I’ve ended up doing the whole thing and paying £1200 because I had been lied to. Honestly don’t know what to say..

Good experience using Shore Cars to buy my vehicle that had an engine seized. Agreed a price prior to collection - a couple of unforeseen issues on collection. Collection Driver was very knowledgeable and friendly. Price was renegotiated which I thought was a fair price. Payment was made within minutes.

Great service the price I was given for my bmw was the price paid,recd payment into my bank in minutes, nice friendly staff hassle free collection this morning, will definitely be using shore cars if needed in the future 👍

They agreed to give me £325 then turned up and offered £50. Made out they were doing me a favour.
I refused.

28th February 2025. The company agreed a price to buy my 80 year old Father's accident damaged Skoda Octavia, but when they came to collect they reneged on the offer price and drove off with it for just £25. Shameful and dishonest. I reported the incident to West Sussex Trading Standards and I wasn't the first to have done so.
8th April 2025. The same vehicle has today been listed on their website for £9995 ! Buyers beware.

Dealing with ShoreCars was a great experience. The office staff I spoke to before the sale and during the sale were very nice. The collection driver was also very pleasant when he arrived he checked over the vehicle and reported back to the office. The office then called to finalise the payment. They paid the full amount that was agreed due to the fact all the details I had given them was correct and the car was in the condition I had told them. The payment went through within minutes. Over all a great experience. I would recommend this company and advise when you give them the details of your vehicles condition you tell them the truth that way you should have no issues.

This happened a few years ago, went to look at a vauxhall insignia ! The mileage and the price of the car seemed an exceptional deal (alarms bells should be ringing , obviously too good to be true)
Allegedly this was a Cat N write off which had been repaired .
Upon looking at the photos from when the car was written off the mileage did not add up to the new mileage stated on the car.
When asked about the mileage being so high at first they said the previous owner drove to Malta and back ….. complete lie .
Clearly what they had done here was Clocking (changing the actual mileage to a lesser figure to make the car more appealing to buy.)
These guys are absolute con artist fraudsters.
There were soo many things wrong with the place…. Working out of a shipping container on a farm in the middle of nowhere. Whole atmosphere was dodgy

I was in contact with a man called David, stay clear , he played dumb on the situation but 100% knew when confronted through his own slip up .

I gave a completely honest account of the car and damage to the bumper. The agreed price was £399. The driver inspected the car and did a video which he sent to the office. I had a phone call saying one of the cylinders was not firing properly (basically a load of bull!)
He knocked £150 off the agreed price. I should have told him to forget it but wanted to get rid of the car.
Basically don’t believe the price they offer you because they will cut the offer on collection!

Do not trust this company! Scam!!! Will be reporting to the police

Tired to sell a car. Agreed a price and then had to cancel as we got a better deal they expected us to pay £600 cancellation fee and tried to get a legal team involved! Absolute scammers. Report to trading standards.

Do not trust this company, they agreed a price for our car as it’s engine had gone , but it will be fixed and sold on by this company with a good profit, on pick up the price was £ 400
less than the price given , stating a lot of bull , if it wasn’t the fact that we needed it removed quickly I would have sold it on to another company.

I found Shore Cars to be an excellent counterparty.

The turbo on my BMW failed and it was going to cost a lot to repair. Rather than fork out for an expensive repair on an ageing car I decided to try and sell it as a non-starting vehicle. I registered the details on one of the aggregator websites and within 24 hours received what I considered to be a fair offer from Shore Cars. The next day they collected the car and paid via bank transfer within a few minutes of inspecting the car. It was very slick.

That said, they did knock me a couple of hundred pounds on collection, which was a circa 3% reduction on the offer price. In hindsight, I probably could have negotiated with them but i took it on the chin.

I think a lot of the bad reviews stem from other customers not being honest about what they are trying to sell. You also have to accept that the initial offer they make you is conditional on their inspection of the car. If you're honest with them, and yourself, you'll be treated fairly.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Shore Cars to anyone that needs or wants to sell a car quickly.

Can't fault the service. Price agreed. Transporter turned when they said it would. Whole transaction was very smooth.
Overall, great service.
Whilst car was damaged, I hope they can salvage something and get it on the road again!

KEEP WELL AWAY! This is, without doubt, one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with. After an accident our car was deemed uneconimic to repair and so I searched for a 'breaker' company. Long story short, I was promised a certain figure for the car. I (foolishly) agreed and, up until the day the recovery vehicle arrived, everything was sweetness and light.
Anyway, on the day, all of a sudden the vehicle was worth much less than the agreed price because of 'defects' I apparently failed to mention. This was just a ruse to drop the price on the day. They kept me waiting over 3 hours and offered me a ridiculous price (part of the scam strategy). I argued the case and managed to renegotiate a better price. However, I still ended up with £300 less than originally agreed.
So, I say again, DO NOT use this company. You have been warned!

Well, If I had read the reviews before doing business, I would not have done the deal. HOWEVER, my experience was excellent and they were a pleasure to deal with.

Engine went on my Evoque and I decided to sell it as was. I had a bid in from Shore Cars, along with others, but I accepted theirs. When they checked the car on collection the money was paid, as agreed.

I think the key here after reading the other disgruntled people's reviews is perhaps the description they gave was not entirely truthful, hence the renegotiation on price.

So, no hesitation in recommending them - I speak as I find and they were great.

It is a very unreliable and doggy practice. Agreed the price to buy based on a damaged car quote and reduced significantly by pointing out issues about the car that is not running as expected. Never use them!

Absolute rogue. Totally unscrupulous dealer. Do not have any dealings with this guy ever. Bought a car last year from him on the strength of the written report and photos shown in his advert. Told him I am being treated for terminal cancer and was relying on his honesty as I was unable to travel to view the roadworthy car. He saw me coming. Charged me double what the car was worth as it was totally unroadworthy, would've failed an MOT and hadn't been driven for at least 20 years in my opinion. Just got the car back from an extremely expensive restoration that should never have been required. Totally disgusted by this experience and I am taking advice presently from legal sources.
