It was a good experience from start to finish everyone turned up when the said Richard the salesman and kitchen designer was good.Stuart the kitchen fitter was brilliant and did a great job. We used the plaster and electrician that Stuart got us they were brilliant and did a brilliant job I would recommend them to my family and friends and I already have.

We have just had a home office designed and installed, we can not recommend highly enough the finished product and service SKO gave from start to finish, the design was done quickly and fitted our needs, the price was amazing too compared to other quotes and the install was perfect finishing on time with no mess at all.

I am saddened to have to write this review as this is my second kitchen from SKO and members of my family have also had multiple kitchens from them. After spending 50k over the last 5 years with SKO I have had a really bad customer service experience with my latest kitchen.

I purchased the kitchen and have my own kitchen fitter who has fitted many kitchens for me, this is my 4th kitchen in 15 years.

SKO supply all fixtures, fittings, screws and brackets for you but don't label any of these items or tell you what each bag of fittings is for, this is clearly because they like to upsell their kitchen fitters and get you to use them.

After fitting my whole kitchen and all my appliances and doors and drawers and units the kitchen fitter fits the worktops and SKO supply some small black clips with screws already in them to fit jointed items together and to strengthen joints. These can be used to fix worktops but SKO prefer you to use metal L brackets.

I know this as today is the first day I have been informed of this despite my kitchen being ordered and delivered 3 weeks ago.

My kitchen fitter fitted the clips to the work top and one of the plastic clips snapped as it was screwed in causing the screw to go through the work top. I informed SKO immediately and sent photos showing all of the other clips had been fitted fine, without a problem and this one was the one that snapped.

SKO have refused to replace my worktop, despite them being the ones to supply the fixings for the whole kitchen.

After speaking to them today I was told the following:

1. You have to use the metal L brackets to fix the worktops which we supple but...
2. You have to use 10mm screws to do this.

I then asked where the 10mm screws were that were to be used for this and I was told "we don't supply those screws you have to supply them yourself."

I then asked when I had been told this and the gentlemen left the phone and swiftly came back with a changed story. The new story was...

"We don't actually supply any fixings for your worktops at all, you have to supply everything that is needed to attach the worktop to the units"

I have now had to request as a legal document evidence in which SKO prove that at the point of sale they informed me that "they supply all fixtures and fittings to fit all appliances, all cupboards and all cabinets and doors, and drawers but none of the provided fixtures are allowed to be used to fit a work top." SKO have said they cannot provide this and they did not tell me and they "would never be able to tell a customer this as they can't and don't have time to write a document listing what is and isn't able to be used to fit the kitchen." I find it very frustrating that such a large company would wish to provide such terrible customer service and would openly tell a customer two different things in a phone call to wriggle out of paying just £190 for a new work top when a customer has given them thousands and thousands. The main complaint is that they are clearly just trying to get out accepting any liability by blatantly lying, they must assume people are stupid as providing all fixtures and fittings to fit their kitchens but when a problem is caused by this they suggest "oh that one item can't be fitted with all the fixtures we send" ... what a coincidence.

Good customer service would have been "no we didn't tell you they couldn't be used and we didn't provide any information on this, let's order you a new worktop"

They're now going to lose a return customer and all the potential customers the trades man who bought the kitchen brings to them for the sake of £190. Just really disappointing. SKO will reply stating the wrong fixing, screw etc was used but I'll already counter that with "You didn't say they couldn't be, you didn't say the plastic clips you supplied weren't fit for purpose and you didn't tell me at point of sale I cannot use any of your supplied fixings to fit a work top"

I also recorded the whole conversation to ensure all my information is factual and true.

I have the phone call recorded proving there was none of what you stated and clearly it was not a threat or blackmail I simply informed you I would be leaving you a review for everyone to see how you try and wiggle out of any responsibility and tell blatant lies to wriggle out of it. Not professional and your response clearly shows people how you treat customers. Thank you for showing what your company is like.

We’ve moved home a lot and we’ve purchased four kitchens from SKO since 2011. We return because the service and product is always fantastic.

I cannot fault this company at all.

This company is atrocious - very little after sale service. Their recommended fitters were terrible. Parted company after 1 day and most of the work needed redoing. SKO measured up - like for like- but still managed to miss 3 doors off the quote and measure one door completely wrong. Contact in Sheffield branch ignored me after getting the order. Branch manager called on day of delivery to say the kitchen hadn't arrived. They had however managed to let the fitters know a couple of days before. No one told the customer!
Kitchen eventually got delivered - I was assured everything on the order was there. Delivery lads (who actually were very good) told me the work top was missing. I later found out that SKO had been told this 4 days earlier but again didn't inform the customer. No-one called to let me know when the work top would be delivered to me. I spoke to the branch manager again a couple of days later who could only suggest that I travel back to the showroom (90 min round trip from me) to choose another worktop on the off-chance it would be in stock. He wasn't prepared to come out to me with samples and was full of excuses why it wasn't his fault. After 3 - 4 days of constant phone calls to them, I eventually got a director out who was horrified at what had happened and lack of service from SKO and the appalling work of their recommended fitters. But he seemed more concerned about the lack of revenue the bad publicity would get them. He did manage to get new work top delivered 3 days later so that the kitchen could be fitted. Unfortunately we had a few other issues with a missing door, damaged door, missing in-fill pieces and missing kickboard which eventually arrived a few weeks after. This meant that we had to try to fit these ourselves or pay a fitter to come back. The branch manager had assured me that I wouldn't be out of pocket and that SKO would cover these costs but they refused when I asked and I have not got any compensation for the extra costs I have had to incur. They have apologised but haven't yet called to see if everything has been OK. Clearly not interested in the customer, just their profit. Katie in Customer Service was very good but can only pass messages on to people who are not customer focused. They are great until they get your money then are not interested. The customer has to do all the chasing.
Avoid this company.
If you do go with SKO - good luck and I hope you don't have any issues otherwise you will have a battle to get them sorted.

Very pleased with my new SKO kitchen. Solid, good quality units that should stand the test of time. Good communication through out. Very responsive when minor issues needed addressing. Fitter excellent. SKO are a really genuine company who are prepared to go the extra mile to deliver customer satisfaction.

We were recommended ‘SKO’ through a friend. Wow they didn’t disappoint!!! Aaron came round and designed our small kitchen giving us a totally different view of what we could have. Listening to our ideas and giving his professional opinions, especially around our idea of a contemporary feel/colours/tiles etc. Lee was the person who fitted the kitchen and it’s better than we imagined, working in such a small space can’t be easy but the results are amazing, we are so happy! We opted for all new appliances and it’s transformed the whole look of our downstairs area. We also thought the cost was reasonable considering the quality of everything purchased.

I was planning a diy installation of our kitchen upgrade. I had approached other suppliers before hearing about SKO and some of these knew what I wanted before I entered the showroom!! At our first meeting with Jamie Day at SKO, he listened to what we wanted and then brought his professional skills and advice into that plan to enhance and perfect our ideas. After three hours, we left the showroom with a very clear image of what our new kitchen would be like, a design for which we still felt we had ownership, and with a comprehensive and extremely competitive quote.
We subsequently placed an order and were given a clear delivery schedule which was adhered to. All the assembled units, doors and accessories were very well protected and of excellent quality. But possibly of greater importance than just the quality of the product is the quality of the after-sales service. Jamie was always available to offer advice when needed. Lee turned out promptly to rectify a misalignment on a drawer runner and offered additional useful advice on other aspects of the work. Katie in Customer Services promptly acknowledged any email enquiries and responded, often within hours, with a resolution.
We are delighted with our new kitchen and have no reservations in recommending SKO for all aspects of their exemplary service.

From going into the showroom for a look around and talking to Richard on the sales team everything about my kitchen has run smoothly, from finding a suitable installation date to complete , came across no problems at all and was very helpful with everything I asked , the rip out of my old kitchen was done while I was away and I came back to a lovley clean job with everything tidy , kitchen was fitted in 3 days and again was a clean and very tidy job , my kitchen looks great just haw I wanted it , I can't thank them and the fitter Stuart enough, would highly recommend.

I have nothing but praise for this company from Arron visiting and planning my new kitchen to Stuart for doing the hard work of removing the old kitchen and fitting the new one. The electrician and plastering teams who were also required worked extremely hard and were all very efficient and considerate. From the start of removing the old kitchen to completion of the new one took less than 2 weeks and all the work was impeccable. I am a very satisfied customer, thank you.

We arranged an appointment at our house with James Wall. He was very professional he listened to what I wanted and understood the brief. I am not an easy person to understand at times and he managed to pull the image out of head and into reality. He gave really good advice on what would work better in the space we had. The fitter Scott Webster and team were excellent. They did a fantastic job and again the listened to what I wanted and took the time to discuss the work required. The team really worked hard and the full renovation and new kitchen was completed in a month.

From start to finish SKO were brilliant. We loved the design from Jamie and the fitter he recommended was excellent. The quality of the kitchen is great, we couldn’t be happier with it!

SKO have made our dream kitchen a reality. It's been a pleasure to cook, socialise and even clean our new kitchen. It has made all the difference to our family home. We can now be with each other whilst cooking tea, baking or just chatting over a coffee. Your team have been fantastic throughout. Big thank you to James Wall for the design and all of our questions and changes along the way. An even bigger thank you to Jack, our installer, and his team their attention to detail has been impeccable and has really transformed our space. What a great team you all are. Aaron has been so incredibly supportive and patient throughout this process. Even with our frequent prevarications, Aaron remained calm and couldn’t have been more helpful as we firmed up our choices and sometimes changed our minds.

He has been exceptionally responsive and always took the time to check and arrange alternatives for us (like when we changed sinks and taps at the last minute) without it ever seeming like a bother.

Designing a kitchen is hard. There are so many decisions to make and so we are grateful for Aaron’s patience and guidance.

As for the kitchen itself, it’s gorgeous. Delivery was prompt and when our kitchen fitter struggled to understand the design, Aaron was on hand to help and explain.

We’d also praise the rest of the staff too. Nothing was too much trouble. We were going through this process with a newborn and everyone was so welcoming to us, even finding us space to breastfeed in private. They also make a great cuppa!

Love the fact that it’s all made locally, as well.

All in all, we’d go back and would encourage other’s to do the same.

Bought a fitted bedroom for my 13 year old son. Jamie was extremely helpful and receptive. Involved my son really well in the process so that he was able to contribute to the design well. Very helpful follow up and support around the order and delivery. Would definitely use again.
