In addition, it may be also be environmentally, a waste of paper.

I am a Realtor living in Edgewater FL. I had the pleasure of meeting Victoria in the New Smyrna Beach branch located on US1 recently. I asked her about opening a business acct. She was very knowledgeable, personable, & smart. She explained the advantages of having a business acct (I have had a personal acct since 1997.) She has also assisted me several times with deposits.
I really appreciate her spunk & vibrant personality.
Unfortunately great employees are often overlooked because there’s so much negativity & people only want to complain instead of compliment.
Huge shout out to her & the branch for always having a positive, happy environment.

Run Away As Fast As You Can!!!
Wow. I read about this company and had my doubts. They do not answer the phone. You wait 20 minutes and then you are given an option to receive a call back. They never call back. Their website application for a new bank account is glitchy, as it took 3 days to finally get it to submit. The next day they could not find the application. They said they would call back but never did. Their connection to Quickbooks is not stable so you lose a lot of information. I would never move to this bank again. Sad. The reviews are true. RUN!!!

The worst banking experience ever. I opened my account February 5th 2026 I closed my account February 27th 2026. I applied for a credit card with this Credit Union and was highly disappointed with the credit limit they offered me when I inquired about the information entered on the credit application I learned that one of my existing bills was entered at $200 more a month than what I stated to the operator over the phone I am not sure how $700 sounds like $900 a month when I inquired about this discrepancy no one could give me an explanation as to why the operator entered such a large discrepancy on my credit application. I was really dissatisfied with the customer service not to mention that ridiculous mistake I'm sure influenced the amount of credit that was offered to me. I was told I would be contacted after an inquiry was complete and that did not happen either. Not sure if this is a normal business practice to enter incorrect information on someone's credit application over the phone or a mistake either way the whole situation really was disappointing and now I have to get that credit inquiry off my credit report. Do yourself a favor find another credit union do not open an account at Space Coast Credit Union.

Space Coast Credit Union STAY AWAY
Space Coast Credit Union has a poor rating for a reason. I joined this credit union over ten years ago because of the banking crisis. At the time I thought that it was not much better than the banks. Later I discovered it really is a bank masquerading as something else.
Last March I noticed a $35 charge on my credit card from Barcelona, Spain. I wondered how this could have happened. It turned out that the INCOMPETENT staff had forgot to turn off my travel notification from 18 months prior. Instead of apologizing the bank forced me to fill out a LONG WINDED form to get reimbursed and told me it would take six months. I am still waiting for the refund.
This past week I decided I better notify this inept group before I travel at the end of October. A goober got back to me and told me they needed the last 4 digits of my account. I immediately sent in the 4 digits only to receive after a bit of time that for security reasons they could not process my travel notification.
Admittedly I was upset and told them what I thought of their services. Now they blocked me from accessing my account online. I will need to make a complaint against them to the Consumer Rights Commission and also to the Federal Trade Commission .

We had an issue with the payoff of our auto loan that caused some calculations that were incorrect, after the fact. We spoke with Maria and explained the situation and she was very helpful, attentive, and professional. She went above and beyond to help us get closure and we were very happy with the results. The customer service that Maria gave us was a true reflection of Space Coast Credit Union and made us feel valued and ensured we remain loyal to them for all our future auto loan needs. Thank you again, Maria, for helping us and we honestly believe Space Coast is truly lucky to have you.

I wanted to sign up for the life insurance they had mailed me and the person sent me to another prompt where I had two choices, neither of them being life insurance.. I have avoided going to their phone; I usually stop at a bank site, however I have been out of town and have misplaced the written offer that I rec'd by mail.

Online banking is horrible this time
Online banking is horrible this time, the old way worked and now is not a good time for improvement during the Hollidays. I can't get in, they send a code everytime and now their code system isn't working at all. When I start over they say my info already exists...don't try to be fancy or more modern, just make it simple for us with something that works. Like banking in the 90s
I have multiple loans, business accounts, and personal accounts with space coast. My number one complaint is that every time they have an update you have no access to your information. The current "update" in the website has made it so QuickBooks cannot connect to it. Its been over a month and they still have no idea when this will be fixed. Horrible IT for such a big company
SCCU is Really That Bad
Their service really is as bad as everyone says. I've been with them for business checking for about 10-years. They totally blew the COVID era, causing confusion and despair. If you go into a branch thinking you're going to get help with something, they point to a bank of telephones on the wall so you can call their call center. (Yea, not making that up.) Tellers and branch managers give you a vibe like they hate their jobs. - Their online banking is constantly offline. Their phone support will take you into a call-tree with hours long holds. Why am I still there? I don't write a lot of checks, so never found the motivation to change yet. I would not recommend Space Coast Credit Union.

I got denied for a motorcycle loan…
I got approved for a motorcycle loan with SCCU two years ago, and it has been paid off. I no longer have it and decided to get another motorcycle, so I called SCCU. My current credit score is 690, which was the same as last time, but this time they denied my application for a mere $6,500 and made a hard pull on my credit report, which is hurting my credit score. I'm pretty sure it also hurt my chances of getting approved with other lenders, so I purchased the motorcycle cash, which I had no problem coming up with these funds, but I initially preferred to spread it a bit. I really thought paying off my last loan with SCCU will work to my favor, I never imagined that they would deny such low amount as this, or I would never chance it to do a hard pull on my credit. Most financial institutions do a soft pull so it won't impact your credit. Never again, Space Coast Credit Union; you lost a very good customer. Also, I decided to close the account I had with them, and I suddenly saw that they charged me $5 for an "Account inactivity fee." This is absurd! Stay away from this bank! You won't win with them in any situation!

There is a reason they don't post their Google rating and reviews. This credit union is full of hidden fees and has numerous guidelines on how and how much of your money you can access. This is a secondary bank for me and would never be my primary.
Their online account portal is continually inaccurate, you have know idea what has or has not cleared, I look at a vendor payment and it has cleared for them but look thru the SCCU ledger and it is no where to be found. Works out well in their favor because they get the over the limit fee when they snag you going over.

Worst customer service of any credit union or bank I’ve ever dealt with. No one on the phone can take action. They say “I’ll submit a request and you should get a call or docusign in a day” - then no one calls. Secure messages go unresponded to as well. About to report them. I’ve been trying to get a response for 14 days! Unconscionable!

The car loan is just one bad thing 1 have to say about them. But SCCU is HORRIBLE on all fronts from online banking, to bill pay, to false offer on loans that they like to rescind frequently. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS BANK! They are definitely not the NASA of banks, even though their ridiculous name might falsely to believe otherwise.
