sell Canadian
Since Save-on-Foods is a Canadian company, I want to see them sell more Canadian products and produce—no more American produce, just from democratic countries. Also, feature any Canadian products in the flyers. We need to do everything we can to help the Canadian economy.
The store is dishonest
The store is dishonest. Twice in the past two weeks, prices have come up higher at the till than displayed. When I go to customer service to complain, it takes them at least 10 minutes to adjust the price as shown and give me a refund for the amount owed. Under law, I'm supposed to get the item for free if it's under $10, but Save On Foods, doesn't abide by the law. It's not their policy.
Save-On-Foods Grandview Delivery – Rusted and Dented Food Can, Expired Products, Dirty Delivery Containers, and Serious Quality Control Concerns
Save-On-Foods Grandview Delivery – Rusted and Dented Food Can, Expired Products, Dirty Delivery Containers, and Serious Quality Control Concerns
I am extremely disappointed and honestly shocked by my Save-On-Foods Grandview delivery experience. The worst issue was receiving a Green Giant Steam Crisp Cream Style Corn 540 mL can that was dented and had rust around the bottom edge of the can near the bottom rim. I cannot believe a food product in this condition was allowed to leave the store and be delivered to a customer. This is people’s food, and this level of quality control is unacceptable.
The next serious concern was the extra-lean ground beef. The best-before date is 26/08/02, meaning it only had a few days remaining when delivered. Fresh ground beef should not arrive with such a short date. Customers should not have to rush to use fresh meat immediately after receiving a delivery order.
The AriA tomatoes, 1 lb package, show a date of 26 JL 20. My order was received on July 30, meaning these tomatoes were already expired when delivered. Sending expired food to a customer is completely unacceptable.
The Fresco cucumbers, package of 3, were also unacceptable. I regularly buy these, but this package
soggy ends. These are not cheap items, and with the cost of groceries today, customers should not be receiving produce in this condition. I am also extremely concerned about the cleanliness of the green plastic delivery bins used to transport groceries. The bottoms of multiple packages and containers were dirty, and it appears to be from these bins. It does not matter if food is wrapped, sealed, or packaged — these containers are carrying people’s food and should be properly cleaned and maintained. Customers should not receive groceries with dirty bottoms because of the condition of the delivery containers.
This is not just one bad item. This raises serious concerns about product checks, stock rotation, and quality control. Someone is putting products on shelves, and older stock should be rotated properly. Expired and damaged products should never make it into a customer’s delivery order.
This is not the first time I have had concerns with Save-On-Foods. I have previously purchased watermelon twice and specifically requested that it be sweet. The first one was poor quality, and the second one was soggy inside. These repeated problems make me question the standards being followed.
I also spoke with my girlfriend about this experience. She shops at Save-On-Foods as well, and she told me she tried delivery and said she would never do delivery again because of the problems she experienced with the condition and freshness of the items she received.
The cost of groceries today is extremely high. Customers are paying a lot of money and deserve fresh, safe, properly handled food. This experience has been extremely frustrating and inconvenient.
I am raising this complaint because this is people’s food. A dented and rusted food can, expired products, poor-quality produce, and dirty delivery containers are serious concerns. Customers should be able to trust the company they are buying their food from.
This is why I’m sharing this experience because customers deserve to know about these quality and handling concerns.
Abbotsford South Fraser Location
I like their wine sales and appreciate their customer service. While all sales are final, i had issues with the corks on 2 high end wines. It wasn't that we got to taste the wine - it's the corks disintegrated as we tried to open it. The store offered to exchange but since it was an event the night before and the wine could not be used, they took it back. I appreciate that kind of service and understanding. I hope they go back to the wine merchant (it was a BC based vineyard) to get the return.
This is the second time in a short…
This is the second time in a short period I checked my receipts when I was at home when my partner went to Saveon foods in Clayton Heights in Surrey and found they had charged me twice on different Items. This time it was a $14.00 x 2 items when only one was purchased. People including my partner need to check there receipts. Called customer service and all they would say is there is nothing they can do because they can not pull up the receipt even with the number unless you have a rewards card. Can you believe that crap. We went back to store and got the difference back before I talked to customer service. The point is you can not even make a complaint to head office that will go anywhere to get these problems fixed where they should be. There is no accountability in each location by the managers of the stores. Will shop at American owned Walmart and Safeway now.
I was not impressed with their soups
I was not impressed with their soups. I like Campbell vegetable soup. They only had 2 cans on shelf. I wld hve boughten a case but also they only had tomato and mushroom. This is not very good business for a grocery store!!!!!!
Bad customer service.
I was shopping at Save-on-Foods Marine Drive & Pemberton on Wednesday June 24 at 6:30pm . Was at checkout cashier was BZ . I had some price matches and was organized with correct stores and dates all valid.BZ rolled her eyes and put her closed sign up to avoid more customers behind me.cuz she said it takes too long . After I showed her 2nd price match she grabbed my phone out of my hand and walked up to customer service desk with my phone and product to question it with a co-worker. I waited patiently and she came back only to say that the price match was not valid. The size and product was correct but she insisted it wasn’t. She then told me to take my entire order to customer service to process. Very poor customer service. She obviously doesn’t know how to do her job .
Many awful experiences!!
After many years, and decades even, of being a loyal customer, in different cities, and many stores, I am DONE, with Save On Foods. Not only have I had countless bad experiences (rotten produce, meat that was expired, etc..) but the customer service has seriously gone downhill! I used to LOVE SOF and now I will never shop there again. What has happened to this store?? I highly do NOT rcmnd it. The management does not care, and even encouraged me shopping elsewhere. What kind of company does that? You can get very sick, from bad food, and this needs to be taken more seriously. Shame on you, SOF, you need to do better!! On a positive note, all the drivers are wonderful and need to be treated better by the company. I have heard so many of them complain. They work hard, and have all been lovely, so thank-you, to the excellent drivers there.
Save On Foods Port Hardy, Vancouver Island
Context: For holidaymakers/vacationers on a driving holiday/road trip Save On Foods in Port Hardy is where the tarmac in north-eastern Vancouver Island runs out. The store is well-stocked with high quality produce and the staff are very friendly and helpful. We found everything we needed to top up to continue our exploration of Vancouver Island. Keen pricing too. Five stars, each thoroughly well-deserved.
So they have pies on sale
So they have pies on sale. The sign said strawberry and pie says strawberry pie. I bought and took home and cut myself a piece because I love strawberries. Anyhow it was terrible like eating a mouth full of sugar, worst pie I ever tasted and my mouth started to swell. I realized it was rhubarb and strawberry pie and I am allergic to rhubarb. They should have sign saying rhubarb and strawberry pie not just strawberry pie. Will be calling to let them know. Good thing it was terrible so I didn’t eat much otherwise it could have been really bad.
I went to save-on-foods #961
I went to save-on-foods #961, Grandview Burnaby yesterday. Joanne, the cashier was on duty. She was very rude to me. Humiliated me in front of my child. Pushing me to be quick and at the end she was the one who made lots of mistakes. I had to later, go back to the store cos Joanne had charged me the price of cardamom instead of pumpkin seeds (25 CAD extra)! Then her colleagues told me that she was sick and needed to get her medication. Overall I am not happy with this store. Lots of food are expired at save on food.
SupportS ICE and price gauges
Used for over 20 years.
I could live with the price gauging but directly supporting ICE on the USA is the final straw.
Patterson is selling a facility in order to process and jail people. The facility is also against the wishes of the local community which has no say.
Certainly won't be buying my next vehicle from Patterson.
Shantz crossing in Didsbury
Shantz crossing in
Didsbury AB WORST store all round. The produce is deplorable, very high priced. Staff is rude and they don't pack the bags appropriately. The toilet and bathroom are filthy. The toilet had Crap in and around it. NOT EVER GOING BACK.
I was in save on foods in kamloops on…
I was in save on foods in kamloops on Lansdown today to buy the whole chickens on sale for buy one get one free. in the case they had stewing chickens bags of 2!! they were obviously out of the fresh chickens but tried to fool the shoppers to buy these stewing fowls as a replacement!! not nice !!
Service is good and staff is friendly
Service is good and staff is friendly, but their Sale flyer and App deals need to be a deal and not big frustration to get a deal. Will not go back again because of this until they make shopping a good experience.
dislike getting food that is bad.
Perfect Service
I have had over 100 deliveries from Save On Foods and every single one was perfect. Unlike another delivery service, you get all the bargains and sales, Drivers don't take tips. Simply put, they are the best.
I absolutely hate their online…
I absolutely hate their online ordering. It's the most unfriendly site. Trying to get help from the customer service who also have no idea how to fix the ongoing issues I've had while trying to order online.
Terrible service.
What went wrong if I said said it once I’ve said it a thousand times get rid of blackbird security! I’m going to Walmart now so ciao! You lost more money yet again. But it’s not like you care, so if you don’t care then frankly why should I? Answer is short and simple I promise, and it’s I don’t care. If supporting an American company means not being followed harassed and accused by the security guards then so be it. I’ll support Walmart instead. I may not like that they’re an American company but they at least have the decency to treat me with respect and dignity unlike you. Don’t bother answering because frankly I’m tired of going in circles with you about these guards and getting nowhere. So Walmart says thank you save on for the hundred dollars you lost today.
Save On Foods Cloverdale - A1 Customer Service
It's all about the customer service!
I have been ordering food delivery from the Cloverdale Save On Foods location since Covid hit.
I have always been quite happy with the quality of the items, the cost of delivery and the very pleasant driver.
However, this past weekend I placed another delivery order and when I went to use three of the items, they were either spoiled or the wrong item. This seemed like a shopper issue that I thought the store needed to be aware of so I called the store.
They put me through to the manager in charge of online orders and, after I explained the issues I had with the last order, I was shocked to learn that she was going to credit me for all three issues. She also thanked me for letting them know and explained that they do have some new employees who are still in training.
Wow! I am just simply in awe. I wasn't even expecting a refund. It's rare to find such great customer service like that these days.
