Overall, I’m very happy with the RTS RICO Special Operations vest. It is very well made and extremely rugged. I have over 25 years of firearms and tactics experience in both the military and law enforcement so I’ve used my share of various types of plate carriers and vests. This vest, from RTS, is the most comfortable and functional one I’ve ever used.

There were a couple of differences however, in the vest I received compared to what was on the website. The vest I received did not have the QD buckles on the shoulder straps. This is something I didn’t mind though. I feel like the buckles would have interfered with getting proper rifle buttstock placement in the pocket of my shoulder. This is a problem I’ve run into with other plate carriers. With the strap being smooth on this vest, I don’t have to alter how I shoot my rifle.

The other thing to note was the size of the zippered pockets for the quick placement/removal of rifle plates. I ordered a medium size vest and I have standard size rifle plates (10”x12”). I was able to get the plate in on the back panel but the pocket opening on the front was too small by about 2 inches. . I tried everything I could think of to try to get the plate in there but wasn’t successful. I was still able to put the plate in the vest by placing it in the same pocket as the soft armor. This is how most outer vests work anyway, so it wasn’t a big deal to me.

If you’re in the market for a high end ballistic vest for tactical operations, I would highly recommend the RTS RICO Special Operations vest.

I feel they have sent me a lower-quality item at a premium price and have not been entirely honest about the situation. Couple that with the fact that they would leave you high and dry.

I feel the motto should be changed from "be fearless" to something like "be fearful of our cash and your safety are second thoughts."

Their website says everything is made in the USA but the carrier I got from them says made in Vietnam right on it. Order number 52348. So they are lying about that. The plates don't say where they were made on them so I don't really trust them now. The order arrived and at first glance everything seems OK but with the made in Vietnam I don't know what to think. The carrier is comfortable enough and seems tough enough for my purposes so I'll probably keep it, but I'll have to take a plate out and shoot at it myself a little to know whether or not I can trust that. Too bad. They sure seem like a good company at first but after seeing the tag and doing more research now I'm thinking I may have made a mistake trusting them. I'll just have to make sure I do more research on this kind of thing ahead of time in the future because they deduct shipping costs and a "restocking fee" at their "discretion" for returns which means I'll probably be charged for a return. Not worth it for the carrier I think, it's not terrible, but I do want to support my own country so I probably will just use this one until it breaks and won't buy anything from them anymore. You can tell all these positive reviews were written by only a few people at the company, maybe only one person. I got responses from customer service and the shipping time was fairly quick, I can't complain about those things, only that on their home page they say "The best gear is made by the best people. And the best people are here. Each of our products is designed & manufactured in the U.S.A. using elite-grade materials, by skilled craftsman who love and take pride in what they do." and then they're shipping things out that say made in Vietnam on them. Like what the heck. Seriously guys? Just be honest.

Just recently purchased the shooters kit 11x14
IV Set up. I’m 6’6” 235lbs hard to find a great set up like this for big guys. I worked with Matt from RTS Tactical. They wind up being out of the 11x14 lV plates for the kit for sometime, But Matt worked with me a gave me updates. He really went above a beyond. You don’t really see Customer Service like this anymore these days. The product was basically shipped to me overnight. It was packaged well, everything feels and looks quality. Can’t wait to buy another set up. Thanks RTS and Matt.

I purchased a vest from this business, ($500.00) which has a Fit Guarantee on the web site, I sent in a request for exchange because it was too big, Matt Morales sent me a response asking what didn't fit. I responded and explained and he never responded back. I tried calling the number on the web site and their phone rings once and then cuts off.
