Wrong parts, lack of acknowledging mistakes
Very concerning experience...I'd strongly recommend documenting everything in writing before agreeing to any work with them.
After I left my car there, I was told that it could not be released due to worn brakes and “safety reasons”. When I stated that I'd have the repair done elsewhere, the car was then released without further issue. It seems it miraculously got safe again.
I had requested a fuel filter replacement. Instead, the complete fuel pump unit was replaced and charged without prior information or my consent.
We also explicitly agreed on "Hankook Winter i*cept" tyres in size 225/55 R17 (as specified in the handbook). However, different "Dunlop Winter" tyres in size 225/50 R17 were installed. The invoice listed yet another type, Dunlop Winter Sport 5 (still the wrong size), which didn't match what was actually mounted on the car...A total chaos.
When I raised these issues, they were initially denied. After I provided photo evidence, the discrepancy was acknowledged, but no corrective action or compensation was offered.
I also attempted to resolve the matter through the Handwerkskammer, but the workshop declined to participate in mediation.
Additionally, my Google reviews describing this experience were removed after being reported.
Overall, there are several alarming signs around this workshop and of course I wasn't able to resolve these issues at the end.
