I’ve been using their service for years and I’ve always received my rebates on time deposited directly into my PayPal account without making a request. They use to have a better selection, but I still find cool things on there.

I have never had a issue with them - it's been over 3years

It has been over a year since I wrote my original review below, and I am revising it with a more positive rating (from 1 star to 3 stars) with the following comments:

• A few Amazon merchants continue to sell on RebateKey despite violating Amazon's terms. That said, those merchants have continued to make their Rebatekey payouts reliably. I've cautiously made several purchases since 2023 (Amazon only) and have not had any further issues.
• It appears that Rebatekey may be doing a better job of screening sellers on its site, as I have not seen any suspicious sales like the ones that got my PayPal account closed back in 2023. I’m therefore no longer recommending to avoid this site, but rather to stick with well-known merchants such as Amazon or Etsy (the primary two you will see on the site), and don’t purchase any more products than you could afford to get stuck with if, for example, in a worst-case scenario the site suddenly shuts down without making payments.
• Since my last review, I have not needed to contact customer service, so I can’t comment on whether that has improved, but the fact that I haven’t needed to contact them is a good sign.

BOTTOM LINE: Needless to say, getting my PayPal account shut down back in 2023 as a result of using the site left me with a very negative view of Rebatekey; however, in retrospect, this was also due to PayPal being ultra-sensitive to users that they perceive are violating their terms (even if it happened unwittingly, like it did to me). The number of worthwhile deals at Rebatekey is a fraction of what it was several years ago, which makes me question how long the site will remain active; however, for the time being, rebates (from Amazon at least) are being received without issue.

As many reviewers have noted, this used to be a reliably profitable site for obtaining quality goods on Amazon for free (or at deeply discounted prices). However, in late 2021, Amazon advised that sellers providing off-Amazon rebates is against their TOS, and Rebatekey's main pipeline of products almost entirely disappeared.

More concerning than the lack of products is that using Rebatekey caused my PayPal account to be shut down permanently. I suddenly stopped receiving my payouts at PayPal, and Rebatekey said they were aware of the problem and working to fix it. Shortly thereafter, I got an email from PayPal saying I could no longer use their service. I had used Rebatekey to purchase from a merchant (non-Amazon) who was engaged in a Ponzi scheme (unknown to me at the time), and that purchase caused me (and many others, according to online posts) to be banned for life from PayPal.

Another criticism that others have reported here is that customer service is poor. You can find a phone number for them online, but if you call that, you will get an automated message telling you that all queries need to be submitted by email, and responses to those emails are extremely slow, requiring multiple follow-ups. My last customer service experience was a bounced payout check (yet another strike against the service).

Guess they've finally abandoned pretending to be a legit company. I've been waiting on a payout since the 15th, but the scheduled date keeps changing, with never a payout going to my Paypal account. They owe me over $800 in rebates.
Also, they are NOT responding to requests for help regarding unscrupulous sellers. USED to be a good company, now they're just scam artists. We need to get a class-action suit going.

UPDATE: As of today (01-09-24): Two of the purchases that I made have DISAPPEARED from my account on RebateKey. No announcement that they were being removed, no response from RebateKey when I inquired about them. This means I bought some stuff off Etsy but won't be refunded for the purchases. This really sucks. I'm going to stop using this site.

They claim they sent rebates via PayPal. No money in my account. I have been using them for several years. Now they are not paying out.

Contacted them twice. First time no reply. Second they said “we sent it”. No effort to make sure they didn’t send it to the wrong email or put a typo. Just “we sent it”

About 2-3 years ago this was a reputable website, that I enjoyed using, but now it's a complete scam. The way the scam operates is that a (usually non-US) seller will open a Shopify store and list products such as lamps or earbuds for as much as $500. They will then promise you a "rebate" of, for example, $465, so it looks like you're getting a deal, but what you're actually doing is paying $35 for earbuds that are worth maybe $5. If anything goes wrong, or if the seller feels like keeping your $500, you have no recourse. They are also now collecting your personal information and claiming "PayPal" wants to know your DOB. This is also a scam. PayPal does not need that information, and if they do, they will ask for it directly.

RK is such a s&%$ storm now. They use to have some service, now it's has dwindled to zero. Be warned, if you have ANY issue with a seller and you escalate a case, they will do nothing for you and ignore your request without any type of notification or justification. I guess we just need to read their minds now. Unfair practices - they have lost any respect the once had for their customers. They are going downhill and downhill fast

Several days ago, I discovered that my login credentials for Rebatekey were no longer valid. To my surprise, I found that my registered email address had been changed without my knowledge or consent. Additionally, the password associated with my account had been altered, effectively locking me out of my own account. This unauthorized access and subsequent tampering with my personal information have caused me significant distress and raised serious concerns about the security of the platform.

I have $1,200 in my account and now they are gone. Not recommend. No customer service at all.

You have to wait 35 days till you get a rebate. #2 There are no good products that you want to purchase they are all junk. #3. Sellers can dispute your order and say that you did not get it. #4 You have to use your cell phone number and address to verify your address.

Deposited a check that they sent on May 15th for about $2,000, and the check was returned. Tried contacting RK customer support via their website and social media but still haven't heard back.

I have over $2000 queued up to be rebated and am not receiving the money. The payout date keeps getting pushed back and support is not responding.

if you need to contact them it has to be email, they dont answer anything else for some reason. other than that I have received many great items and save a lot of money

Good luck trying to get any help from them whatsoever. I have sent countless messages to them as to why I cannot claim certain item…..no responses to any of them. If you need help, don’t bother, they will ignore you. I gave up on them

Love “Rebate key”
They are honest and paying back the rebate on time every month. Been using them for 5 years ! Never had any issues!

I used to use this Rebatekey often, but not anymore. Now there are items with very inflated "original" prices. Backpacks with Original Prices of $700! Scarves at $300! These are not designers brands, these are brands that I can't find elsewhere online, but I am expected to believe that they are worth more than Coach and Kate Spade.

Have used this company a while ago. In my opinion, the way they do things will just put your Amazon account at a high risk. I would avoid this company

SCAM. Bought the item 5/16/2022, was supposed to have rebate 6/16/2022. They sent me an invalid code to verify account. I then was sent a new code which I used weeks ago to verify account. Account shows 100% verified but no rebate. No response to my inquiries.

Yes... You need to wait the full 30 days to get your rebate, but they are sure to get it to you by then. The deals in and before 2021 were OUSTANDING, could get highly discounted products nearly daily without much effort. Now the products and discounts aren't quite as good, but that's likely not their fault at all, but moreso Aamzon.

If you have any problems, customer service is friendly and responsive. Quick to deliver expected results.

Still love the site, and have been using them for years. Hoping more products come through with the bigger discounts, but happy to support them either way!

Immeciately after purchasing I sent them an email with screenshots of my purchases with order #'s as they asked for and they say they can't verify the order through their system which is the reason I emailed them in the 1st place. Their system wouldn't allow me to enter my order #s. However screenshots showing items that are in their system were purchased by me and delivered aren't acceptable verification?
