No less than a scam!!! Absolutely ridiculous. They show you one price for the premium luring you in to their website, then they call you and change the premium three times higher. SCAMMERS!! AVOID!

I received my insurance service from Jimmy, who thoroughly ensured all my details were correct and that I had the cover that suited me best. Jimmy was incredibly easy to communicate with and made the experience quick and easy for me. He reassured me on any questions I had and made sure that I was satisfied with the services i received. A solid 10/10 from me.

Getting a quote - easy

Getting the policy - more difficult my taxi car license had 6 weeks to run this wasn't long enough for them, they kept threatening to cancel my policy unless I sent them the renewed license but my car test wasn't scheduled for 3 weeks caused a lot of stress. Eventually got sorted.

Now at the end of my policy and I can get a renewal a lot cheaper with the same cover with another insurer, but trying to get in contact with Quote detective to get email conformation of my no claims bonus is a nightmare I have tried the following:

Chat through their website - 6 attempts same message every time no one is available chat has ended

Request a call - filled out all of the details and it fails to submit the request.

Telephone - Still hanging on the phone (when I could be working instead) so far its been 43 minutes 25 seconds and counting.

The start was stressful and the end has been stressful, hate to think what it would have been like if I had issues or had to make a claim during the policy.

HASAN was great, able to provide all information I asked for and got me the cover I needed at a very good price.

I spoke with Hasan today to sort out my taxi insurance, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for better service. He was incredibly helpful, efficient, and professional throughout the whole process.
I made a few mistakes along the way, but Hasan was so patient and helpful and managed to put everything right for me without any hassle. He went above and beyond to make sure everything was sorted properly.

I really have no words to express how grateful I am. Thank you so much, Hasanfor your excellent service and support. You are a credit to the company. Absolutely brilliant service — highly recommended!

It is a dodgy company.they are Nothing but waste of time. Spoken to one of their customer representative Ammar Khan, he asked me to send them all the paperwork wicth he needed from me. And he told me that he's going to give me a call in two minutes. But even after four days calling them five time nobody give a damn to give me a call back. Only just telling me we will forward your message to so-called Khan. I just waste my 4 days just to discuss my taxi insurance quote from them but they are waste of place and waste of time please please don't go and take any kind of insurance from them. Not a professional at all.

Scumbags want to bully me and force me to pay for insurance during a period that I wont have the vehicle anymore as the vehicle was a total loss from 28th August yet these scummy people want to extort me to pay them I sirance on a vehicle I do not own for the future which I wont have the vehicle anymore. Vile scammers.

In regards to their reply below, they cancelled my policy without consulting me i tried to call them and could not get to speak to someone for over 1 hour called back and pressed new customer person answered straight away and then claimed he couldn't help me.

I recieved a threatening letter saying I owed quote detective £1812, and that it was because they cancelled the policy yet their reply claims they wouldn't continue to make someone pay for a vehicle they do not own.

Yet I have the letter they send threatening for the money and yes threatening legal action is a threat. And i have the call recordings of waiting over 1 hour then the sales person telling me he couldn't help me amd even t9ld me ge couldn't email someone higher up to help.

I have several diagnosis and going through therapy while building a business since last year which is the first time ive been able to work for years due to my health issues. Then you get nasty greedy bullies like this trying to extort you and destroy your life.

How on earth they are allowed to operate under the financial conduct authority is actually scary.

What an embarrassingly incompetent way to run an insurance business.

Quote Detective advertised an annual policy to me through Go.Compare for £1,479.66. I followed their instructions, phoned them and then wasted more than 30 minutes of my life going through everything—again—only for them to suddenly announce that they would not honour the quote.

Apparently I had failed some mysterious “verification checks”. The person began mentioning financial checks and IVAs, despite me clearly stating that I was paying the full annual premium upfront and was not asking them for credit. I have also recently moved address, which you would imagine a supposedly competent insurance company could verify without behaving as though I had attempted to assume a new identity.

Nobody could clearly explain what had supposedly failed, what information was allegedly wrong, or why their system had happily produced a specific quotation before deciding that I was apparently uninsurable at that price. They simply dangled a cheap quote in front of me, dragged me through a painfully long phone call and then refused to sell the policy they had advertised.

The next available quote was more than £1,100 higher. Convenient, isn’t it?

If your “quote” can disappear the moment somebody tries to buy it, it is not much of a quote—it is bait. Stop advertising attractive prices that customers seemingly cannot purchase. Carry out your checks before displaying the figure instead of using people’s time as though it is completely worthless.

This is exactly why people hate dealing with insurance companies. Endless questions, vague excuses, unexplained computer decisions and absolutely no accountability when the advertised price turns out to be meaningless.

Quote Detective? More like Quote Fiction.

More than half an hour wasted, no policy, no proper explanation and not the slightest indication that they cared. An utterly shambolic customer experience from a company I would now actively avoid.

The company cancelled my insurance and after 1 month, I am still waiting for my refund. I was told it will take 2 weeks. The live chat is absolutely useless, and nobody to pick up the phone calls I make daily, I wait for about an hour before giving up.
ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. Very very disappointed. Please be aware ‼️❗️‼️
