I was thoroughly ripped off by this company. I was quoted over the phone for a blocked drain being £50 for the first half hour and £60 for every half hour after. Three men turned up and proceeded to trample sewage everywhere. They were here for an hour and a half and I was charged £551. The kitchen was unusable for days as they’d flushed sewage the wrong way. They charged me for two men plus “plant” hire, neither of which I was quoted for. They also refused to leave until I paid. They eventually agreed to refund me £194, which they have since failed to do. BEWARE.

Very overpriced, we took the website at face value,should have looked at Trust Pilot first,big mistake, lesson learned. Behind all these companies is a very unprofessional man called Mark, extremely rude and threatening on the phone.Avoid at all costs.

On May 12th 2025 we contacted Drain Busters/We Fix Any Drain, both of whom trade as Project Drains Ltd.
Two men arrived (in an unmarked white van) at 11.30am and used a high pressure hose to flush a drain blockage, which appeared to be caused by a broken pipe. They then used CCTV to inspect the rest of our drains, and said due to root ingress/build up of scale urgent work was needed. They gave us an estimate of £6,700 but if the work was done that day they would reduce this to £6k. We felt pressured to have the work done, and fearing further blockages we reluctantly agreed. They would only accept cash or credit card, and at 13.32 we spoke to their office and paid by credit card and 20 MINUTES LATER THEY WERE GONE! We later received a receipt in the name of BGD21 Ltd. Further investigation shows this, + a number of other companies, are run by the Marasca family based at 350-352 London Road Portsmouth PO2 9JY.
I gave Project Drains 14 days to respond before taking legal action, but no contact was forthcoming.
I then applied to Civil Money Claims online, and today after 3+ months I have received their judgment. Project Drains have been ordered to pay £6,455 (incl costs) … BE WARNED do not use these companies!!!

Exaclty the same as the reviews below - do not touch this firm with a barge pole. Have taken my money, not provided any reports to claim on insurance, and subsequently we have found that they did a terrible job as fixing the issue - and we still have drainage leaks! AVOID AVOID AVOID

If we could give a zero we would. Took our money and ran after doing a very bad job. Having since spoken to others and our insurers, they have a reputation, so be warned.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I only wish I had looked at these reviews before we did but as the drains were broken and an emergency we went with them. They came out on 20th Feb 2025 and we have been trying to get them to come back out ever since and to get a report and photos of the work for our insurance claim to no avail. Excuse after excuse and still nothing as I write this on 7th April.

Completely misled about charges and the addition of VAT to verbally quoted fees. On arrival of the engineer I was told it was a two man job before they even started work doubling the quoted cost straight away- I should have told them to leave then but trusted them to solve the problem - they didn't! £392 down the drain for 1.5 hours unsuccessful work. When I phoned to complain the sales contact started giving me nonsense about health and safety requirements since 2007 requiring two men (which wasn't the point - I wanted to know why they hadn't told me that and quoted correctly when I booked) They also said I was the first person ever to complain about the addition of VAT which I very much doubt. They then put the phone down on me! Email query has gone unanswered so hence this review.

FOOTNOTE: Email from Trust Pilot today (18/06/23) as the company had contacted them suggesting my review belongs to another business which it most certainly does not! They haven't managed to respond to my email though!

Blockage cleared but you could have knocked me over with a feather £534 for 1.5hrs work.
You pay per 30mins for 2 men and a jet machine, 1 man had only joined the company 2 days before, he undid the screws 4 of them on the manhole cover and passed a few rods to the other guy.
Extortionate cost, try another company at all costs

I called this company due to an apparent blockage in a 4 inch drain attached to a toilet. They quoted £59 odd per half hour plus VAT. They did not inform me that the crew is two man so actually the fee is twice that. They turned up and when they found out i didnt have an outside tap one of the staff - Trevor insisted on reconnecting a tap which had been disconnected a couple of weeks before whilst I waited for the drains to be unblocked and the plumber to come back and sort the toilet and assocated plumbing (which included the feed to the outside tap). I pointed out that I wasnt happy that the push fit wouldnt leak he demonstrated to my by pulling all the push fit connections that it was all secure. That was 19th april. They spent two hours and charged me £571 but didnt manage to unblock my drains. They quoted me another £600 plus to come back and dig me a new drain (2 men one days work plus materials). I didnt have them back. My plumber told me it would be £300 max to do and arranged to come to do it on 15 May. Unfortunatley on 6 May the push fit that had been installed by Trevor on behalf of project drains and resin ltd as their contractor, failed. I had 3 inches of water in my entire ground floor. My oak parquet and board floors are ruined (they had been down less than a months). I called to complain first about the fact I had not been told about the labour being 2 x the cost quoted - the woman was rude and hung up on me. I called this morning to inform them that the service provided was not of satisfactory quality and their web page said they were accredited and guaranteed their work, The rude man told me I didnt have a leg to stand on, quoted his "terms and conditions" and failed to understand that the Consumer Rights Act 2015 applied to his company's work as I am a consumer and they act as a trade. He told me there was no guaranteed. Started spouting on about VAT (which is totally irrelevant to quality of service) and when I asked for the registered address ( a legal requirement for a legal company to have on their website or correspondence) he told me to email them. I pointed out I would simply check the Companies House register. He told me rudely and ignorantly I didn't know what I was talking about, I said he left me no option but to issue proceedings and he said he looked forward to getting my letters and hung up. Also beware their postiive reviews- Marifelis Consciousness?!! (clearly fake review) - only 1 review - same for the only other positive review on this company

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I had a liner installed by them in 2021 to fix an ongoing drain issue. It was inserted completely incorrectly by a guy called Trevor, it made the issue so much worse. I contacted their office manager (Hope) who said Trevor would rectify but he didn't come out to any of the appointments. I called them many, many times to get sorted, eventually they started ignoring my calls altogether. The issue was so bad that I had to get another company out who had to dig up the entire driveway to remove the faulty liner and replace the pipe. I ended up paying in excess of £5,000 to get it sorted out. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

Called Project Drains, was quoted £59 for the first 30 mins, turned out that is PER ENGINEER.
Long story short ended up paying £362 for 40 mins work.
Upon further investigation into this company it looks as though I am not the only one this has happened to….

They completely ignore complaints to their email address and I will have to consider going through legal channels to claw back the extortonate amount they forced me to pay. They do read emails because they noticed the email from Trust Pilot after this page was created and then they created fake reviews to support their scam.

Phoned company & stated a kitchen sink was blocked, they said someone would attend within hour & a half (8am). They called back to ask if was the sink as a certain team would attend. No-one arrived, phoned & was told someone would call straight away. No call.
Left it a while & called again to be told I would get a call from the operative. Still no call, now 1pm. Called again & was informed someone would be there within the hour, an hour & half later (ok), someone arrived & was told they did not do kitchen sinks! & promptly left. Phoned company who were apologetic (again) & promised they would get right back to me,now 3.30pm & no Call!

Please save your money. This company is a fraud!
House smell of foul due to drain problem. Especially when the heating is on. In desperation, I emailed a couple of companies to see who could come out the fastest to sort the problem. Project Drains called the next morning and came out. 2 men came, put camera down the drain. Charged £202.50 for plant use but no report provided from said said plant use. I was charged £563.40 for no work done provided, except a quote for £2032 (plus VAT) for additional work.

Called a local drain company who came out to put a camera down for £138 (including VAT), plus temporary repair work for under £150. Smell sort immediately.

I have filed a complaint with Trading Standard.

Please do not use this company.

I am grateful that they unblocked my drain quickly and it now seems ok. Hence 2 stars for that. However what I was told on the phone and what really happened were quite different. I was told I would have to pay £44.50 per half hour for manpower. They would put a camera in the drain to survey it then if it needed equipment I would have to pay 75.00 per half hour if machinery were needed. Two people came so immediately I had to sign to pay £89 for 1st half hour, which I had not been informed was without VAT, so it actually cost me 106.80 and took them 5 mins altogether. No camera inspection was done. They just cleared it with a pole. Good job but very overpriced for what they had to do! If I had had to have the machinery it would have cost another 75 pounds, presumably plus VAT, which would have been another 90 pounds. I get that they may have to travel some distance to a call out , but be fair and tell people what it is REALLY likely to cost !

Excellent Service Again
I requested an engineer due to a blockage in my house. This is the second time I have used this company. The man was extremely polite, friendly and professional. The costs were reasonable and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this company to my friends and family.

Totally and utterly ripped off, drainage issue still persisted and I had to organise clearance by others.
When contacted they just laughed down the phone and totally ignored my letters.
It also appears that the reviews on their website are fake!
Avoid like the plague.

We contacted 'Drain Busters' about a blocked system. We received a call back from an Engineer called Mark (from Project Drains), we explained the situation & he booked in an engineer to visit in the morning. The engineers that arrived were fine but had not been briefed on anything I had discussed with Mark the previous day. They resolved the blockage but instead of a reasonable price they sought to bill £750 (!) which included plant hire at £270 + VAT & 2 mens labour at £178 each. We have previously had a drain blocking company attend that charged £114, this company are charging for all sorts of undeclared costs that are extortionate. They claim 'We charge no callout fees and include a free CCTV inspection', that 'they will provide a quote before they take any action, that they will check it with us first, and only proceed when the customer is 100% happy'. Sadly they did not do these things. Had the cost been reasonable it would have been OK to settle but this is not. The engineers stated that the company has a policy of not leaving until payment has been made - we said we will dispute with head office. After a lot of discussion the engineers left. We then received a threatening call from Mark advising that 'this was our last chance to pay' and if we didn't he would be taking us to court for non-payment. We have stated to the Engineers that we would make a reasonable payment of course but not this extortion. Mark provided no opportunity to explain & discuss. He shouted down the phone and threatened us saying 'this is the last thing you will do'.
