Do not use these SCAMMERS just want to take as much money as possible off you. Our Bella a ragdoll cat was very ill the wife took her down they love to here you've got insurance so they can come up with a ridiculous bill. Firstly got a £4000 bill they wanted us to spend another £5000 Bella was still not good we took her back to be given another £300 bill with tablets this was a wednesday and got told the tablets take 3 days to work if she don't improve there would put her to sleep on the friday at 6.20pm yes you read that right how daft. Anyway on the thursday bella was in pain the wife rung up to be told no she's booked in tomorrow if you want her put to sleep today it's another £130 anyway a beautiful Bella died on the kitchen floor in the early hours on the friday we then we got another bill for £86 i said we ain't paying then got a threatening letter.

My cat was vomiting and obviously very unwell on bank holiday Monday. I rang the surgery and was told that as it is a bank holiday, the charge for a consultation is £270 plus any treatment that may be needed. Greedy, money grabbing team who care more about profits that pets.

We moved to Pool House, as it was local and our aging Labrador, Lexie was becoming increasingly stressed travelling in a car and myself as an 80 year old was struggling to lift her into the car. Having explained our situation Pool House did not provide any assistance. We had to make a return trip for blood tests - wouldn’t do the same day. Results of blood tests were delayed 24 hours, calls regarding the tests were not returned, a complete refusal to accommodate our request to have Lexi put to sleep at home. The total lack of compassion shown caused a really horrendous time to be made much worse, causing immense distress to myself and wife and most importantly, Lexie. Thankfully, ‘Kindest Goodbyes’ came and attended to Lexi within 24 hours and couldn’t have provided a better service. We lost Lexi 4 months ago and it is only now I have been able to compose this review. The impact of the treatment we received from Pool House has been so great. They totally let us down.

I joined Pool House around seven months ago after moving back to the area, as they had always looked after our family pets well in the past.
Unfortunately, the experience this time was very different. One of our dogs has a chronic illness and needs regular appointments, but continuity of care was almost impossible. The practice often couldn't tell us which vet would be available for follow-up visits, and there were repeated issues collecting medication. On one occasion, a prescription wasn't ready as expected, leaving our dog without pain medication for an extended period.
The final straw was cancelling our Pet Health Club membership after moving to another local practice. We were charged a £60 cancellation fee and, despite the circumstances, discussions quickly turned to debt collection rather than finding a resolution or showing any empathy.
We've since moved elsewhere and the difference has been crazy, more compassionate care, better communication, greater consistency, and lower costs!
Sadly, based on our experience, I wouldn't recommend Pool House for pets requiring ongoing treatment and regular veterinary support.

A huge thank you to Olivia and the entire team of vets, nurses and staff at Pool House. For seven wonderful years, you provided Evie with the most incredible care. Your genuine compassion, expertise and professionalism meant the world to us and made such a difference to her life and ours.

The way you treated Evie with such kindness and empathy meant she always walked in happy, no matter what. Her wagging tail was a testament to how much she trusted and loved you all

Thank you for your incredible dedication and for being the very best team we could have asked for. You are truly amazing at what you do. We will be forever grateful and will never forget everything you did for her. ♥️

Having been with PH for over 12 years I moved my 3 dogs to Glenthorne due to their total lack of compassion with an episode involving my elderly and much loved dog. She sadly passed away a month later (under the compassionate car of Glenthorne) in Nov 2025. How distressing for me to receive a text and an email asking if I required anymore medication for her today, 2 months later. They seem to care more about revenue than pets.

Vicki on reception was friendly and very helpful, she was very on the ball and enabled us to see a vet straightaway and explained the plus plan to us. She’s a real asset to Pool House.

Our dog Beau passed away on a Sunday evening. Obviously we were in a terrible state, we couldn't think straight and I phoned the wrong vets.
I was put through to pool house vets and they accepted us straight away.
The staff were absolutely amazing. Very empathetic, kind and caring.
We received the most beautiful pawprints and nose prints of our dog with a little bottle containing her fur.
We were overwhelmed with a beautiful card we received in the post too.

When anyone dies whether a pet or person this kind of care is what means and matters the most.

I recommend taking video evidence because they will lie about what's was mentioned full medical history was lacking.missing important information don't bother complaining will justice lie go straight to legal action

We took our very sick dog into Poole House Vets. He was extremely ill and we knew there was something seriously wrong with him. Poole House vets conducted what they said was a full range of comprehensive tests and said they couldn't find anything wrong with him.

His symptoms did not improve so we called the vet again to question her assessment. We asked if she had checked his ears as we asked them to as he was exhibiting balance issues and she said no she hadn't (we have the call recording). Over the following few days our dog got progressively worse. We knew he wasn't right so we took him to a different vets practice for a 2nd opinion and they immediately discovered he had a very very severe ear infection!!!

This clearly shows the Poole House vet didn't even look in his ears as the infection was clearly visible. This is clear negligence and as a result our dog suffered a tremendous amount of unnecessary pain and suffering.

Poole House are awful and totally incompetent. The facts speak for themselves, Poole House charged us £130 for a so-called full range of comprehensive tests and spent 30 mins examining our dog and couldn't find anything wrong with him. We went to a different vets (Hillman Vets) that know what they're doing and they immediately within 2 mins discovered the severe ear infection!!! (At a 1/3 of the price as well)

If you are looking for a vet in the Lichfield area do not entrust the health of your pet to these people, they are incompetent and don't care about the animals they treat or their customers. All they care about is your cash. There are better vets in the area that actually know what they're doing and care about the animals they treat
