My daughter’s mentor through Polygence provided excellent support for her summer project - but also motivation for next steps with college applications. The platform was easy to use and they checked in frequently to make sure everyone was pleased with the experience.

Our mentor did a great job of guiding my child through the project procedure and breaking down complex concepts. The mentor encouraged my child to think critically, which was helpful in boosting their confidence and skills.

However, I felt that the overall experience could have been slightly improved, by increasing the current limited involvement of parents, especially for younger kids. While promoting independence is important, I believe that some level of parental engagement is necessary to reinforce learning and provide additional support.

Polygence was a great resource to learn more about a topic I am passionate about. They were very prompt with every step and matched me to a perfect mentor.

I really liked the mentor; they helped me get through my project a lot. It is costly, but probably worth it.

The idea of matching mentors with potential research students is great. But the fact remains that research is self-driven from students who are interested in learning more about a field. It is not worth $3000 to be automatically matched with a mentor who may not be able to give their full support or interest. It's more valuable to do independent research, and seek a mentor when it is needed. Polygence's program isn't a truly valuable experience with its limited support through the digital platform. It's impossible to do any valuable lab work, and most research papers end up as literature reviews. Polygence was not a "worth-it" type of experience that was truly life changing for its price.

The process was very helpful to my child.
She was very able productively do research under Polygence's research program. The mentor-mentee system is very well structured, very efficient communications between the mentor and the mentee.

Polygene helped to add power to my son's resume. His paper has so much detailed analysis. His guide/coach/mentor has been excellent and professional.

I liked the way the Polygence research program is structured. Students have the option to meet with some of the mentors who can help provide valuable guidance in selecting a research field and narrow down the topic.

Moreover, the program offers flexibility and works around students' schedules. Whenever we reached out to polygence regarding any concerns, they were all ears and prompt in addressing those.

Students also have a say regarding who they want to work with. My daughter's mentor's easy availability, breadth of knowledge and helpful guidance was instrumental in successful completion of the project. I truly appreciate their commitment to the shared goal.

It exceeded my expectations and was an amazing experience. I got to use my voice and incorporate everything I wanted into my paper. There are a lot of knowledgeable mentors and the mentor match for me was spot on. The Polygence workspace is also very organized. There are also a lot of great publication options.

I am giving a 5 rating because Polygence was proactive when there were issues with the mentor. We had a great experience with my older daughter’s mentor few years ago. However, I was not quite happy with my younger daughter’s mentor. She rescheduled several times … almost every time was last minute . However, at the end she is happy with her research paper. I am proud of her hard work.

My mentor was incredible. She laid out the steps perfectly, was compassionate, and offered so much insight on what her career as a psychologist entails since I also want to be a psychologist one day!

The mentors are extremely helpful and experienced. Polygence connects you with mentors of your specific field, which helped my project out tons!
