I’ve had several cars over the years from PCC. Every time the sales staff have been honesty, friendly & totally approachable. Nothing is too much trouble. I would highly recommend them 👍

My experience buying a vehicle from…
My experience buying a vehicle from this dealer was very disappointing.
To start with, the car was handed over without the tax process being explained or completed, and the change of ownership wasn’t gone through with me either.
On the day of collection, the TPMS warning light was on and one of the tyres was flat, so the dealer had to pump it up before I left. While they did this, oil and dirt were left all over the white seat due to no seat cover being used. This issue with leaving the seat dirty continued to be an issue with every visit.
The following day, I noticed the steering wheel vibrating on the A38 at speeds of over 50mph, so I contacted the dealer and asked them to balance the wheels and check for buckles. I subsequently discovered myself that one of the wheels was buckled and had been moved to the rear of the car without this being disclosed to me, which appeared to be an attempt to hide the fact the wheel was buckled. This also meant the tyres were now mismatched across the axle. Once I raised this with the dealer, they agreed to pay for that wheel to be repaired. Also found that the buckled wheel was mentioned on the vehicles last MOT 60 days before, but wasn’t on the dealers pre-sale MOT.
While the car was in for the wheel balancing, the car was damaged. I had to demonstrate that the damage could not have been caused by me as they didn’t want to admit responsibility. Eventually they agreed to repair the damage but the initial repair was rushed and to a very poor standard, with sanding marks visible in the filler under the paint. I was told by one of the owners, “we thought it would be a good enough repair because it’s low down on the car.” For a car costing £17,000, I don’t believe the location of the damage should determine the standard of the repair.
The dealer did agree to carry out the repair again, which is still far from perfect, but it was good enough to mean I didn’t have to go back and be without the car again.
I was also promised that other issues with the vehicle would be looked at when the damage initially occurred, only to later be told that this wasn’t possible and that I’d have to pay for them myself. At the time, it felt like these promises were made simply to keep me happy while the situation was being dealt with.
Before going on a long road trip, due to my lack of confidence in the dealer, I took the car to another garage to check the wheel alignment and balancing, only to be told that another wheel was buckled and therefore couldn’t be balanced. The dealer then refused to pay for this, saying I must have buckled the wheel myself. Therefore, I had to pay £100 for the repair.
To be fair, after recent events on social media, I do believe their attitude and efforts improved. And after the last repair the car was cleaned for me. Unfortunately, by that point it was too little, too late though. The experience of buying the vehicle has been ruined for me, and I’ve been left out of pocket with a car that now has a substandard repair, which is a shame as purchasing a car has always been a good experience at many other dealers I’ve bought from.
I wouldn't recommend this dealership to…
I wouldn't recommend this dealership to anyone.
This review isn't based on my own purchase, but on the large number of experiences i've seen shared by customers and people who have worked there. The same concerns seem to come up repeatedly: vehicles developing faults shortly after purchase, warranty disputes, poor communication, customers feeling dismissed when reporting problems, and repairs taking far longer than expected.
I've also read accounts from customers who say they were encouraged to leave a positive review before they've had enough time to properly judge the car, only to run into serious issues afterwards. Others describe having to get independent garages involved before their concerns were taken seriously, or feeling pressured into paying for repairs they believed should have been covered.
When so many people describe similar experiences, it raises serious concerns about the way the business operates and treats its customers. I appreciate that every business can receive the occasional negative review, but the consistency of these complaints would make me think twice before buying a vehicle from here.
If you're considering purchasing a car from this dealership, I'd strongly encourage you to read as many reviews as possible, do your own research, and have any vehicle independently inspected before committing.

Nothing but positive things to say
Nothing but positive things to say! Jacob was amazing and so helpful/informative. Nothing was too much trouble! Arrived earlier than my scheduled appointment around midday to look at a car which I ended up not being 100% on so Jacob gave me the keys to look at a different one I thought would be completely out of my budget but I wanted to have a look as it was my dream car. Jacob got the car straight out for me to test drive, upon return Jacob worked his magic and the car was officially mine! It was already serviced and MOT'd, signed sealed and delivered, told me I could take it away with me the same day just before they closed! Jacob sorted the tax for me there and then before leaving! Recommend this car sales 1000%!
Poor communication
We booked in to see 3 cars the day before travelling down. We arrived to find the 3 cars still wedge at the back with other cars in front and beside and barely able to open the doors to view. Out of the 3 only 1 we wanted to test drive.
All was going ok, spoke to the gentleman afterwards and said we was very interested just needed to go and work out what to do with the car I currently had (to PX or to sell privately) we didn’t put a deposit down as they wanted £500! But online you could reserve the car for £99. The car had already been on the forecourt for 2 months didn’t think 1 day was going to make much of a difference. The following day I messaged to say we would like to buy the car and how much deposit etc we were going to be putting down. 3 days later, after chasing for an update I finally got a response of that’s great when could they call to finalise. Said I was available 5pm onwards due to work. Again I didn’t hear anything, next they are trying to call me (I’m at work can’t answer) no message left, so I messaged to ask when the car would be ready to collect and to sign paperwork. Was then told on Monday the car had sold on Saturday!
I know I didn’t put a deposit down but the sale had been agreed, and the whole process could have be dealt with better.

Never ever use this garage!!
Never ever use this garage or its affiliated MOT centre next door. I believe they are fraudulent and should not be allowed to sell cars let alone MOT & ‘repair’ them. Where do I even start. The salesmen are properly sleazy, they just lie and smile their way to a sale, then get people to write a 5 star review in front of them on the day of sale (not the day of pickup!) I bought a car & pointed out a few issues that needed sorting. When I picked the car up it was still filthy, no valet as promised, then I asked about one of the parts that still wasn’t fixed (none of them were) the salesman who was the buzz cut lad then pretended to be on the phone in front of me saying the parts are ordered & wont be long to hurry me away, I know he was pretending because the person he pretended to be on the phone to phoned me the next day asking for details so he could get the part ordered 🤦♂️ I pointed out the brake discs were all pitted & rusty, this was an advisory on the mot, they promise a clean mot when buying so I went back to collect after a new mot, all good no advisories… yet the discs were exactly the same? Eventually got them to change the front discs & pads. How could they produce a clean mot without doing the advisory work?? So many red flags about this garage, to the point where I feel they are issuing false mot’s to save money & get people out the door. The car has been in and out with various issues, they damaged the interior of the car in the process, but just ignored me when I tried to point that out.
They use a warranty company, or should I say used, something to beware of when buying a car not many garages work with warranty companies so I felt stuck with plympton mot, I went back recently with an issue and Neil turned me away saying the warranty company has banned him from using them, but played the victim saying its because they have made too many claims on range rovers etc, so I phoned the warranty company, and they said they do not recommend any work is done using this garage, I explained the red flags & they basically agreed & said stay clear. I had to phone many garages to find one that works with a warranty company, and every garage had the same opinion that this place is a cesspit of cowboys but in slightly more professional terms. I’m debating going to trading standards, not for money but because I think it’s actually dangerous this place is even open. Whatever you do, avoid this place like the plague

Faulty car
I purchased a vehicle from this dealer on 3/12/25
Within one week of purchase, the car developed three separate faults (including the exhaust falling off). The dealer had MOTed the car mid November with no advisories, and serviced it before I picked it up.
I requested a refund under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 after the third fault.
The dealer took possession of the vehicle and placed it on their forecourt for sale.
At that point, my personal belongings were still inside the car and I had not signed the paperwork of ownership back to them.
I was informed that the refund for the car and oil I had to purchase could not be processed until the following Monday. I received a refund for the car but have not received a refund for the oil, despite having it in writing they would refund this too.
This review reflects my personal experience.

Brought a car
Brought a car, nothing but problems since buying it, the manager is rude and nonchalant about the problems. Didn’t fix all the problems that I had to take it back with, air con needed a re gas when I brought it, charged me £140 for the privilege. Would avoid at all costs!! Lied on my google review saying the problem happened at 7 months when it was first flagged prior to even owning the car for 3 months!
DO NOT TRUST THE CAR SALES OR GARAGE
DO NOT TRUST THE CAR SALES OR GARAGE. Although there google reviews are good i did some more research and there trust pilot reviews are shocking so very misleading. Shocking customer service and not had one person have a good thing to say about the garage or sales garage.
Unfortunately not everything is as it seems. I bought a car back in march this year and didn’t have any issue with the car sales team. I then had the car misfiring within a couple of months and then was covered under warranty. The next time it was in again for a misfire and i was told it was the catalytic converter. Which was one of the only parts that didn’t come covered under warranty. I then drove the car away and went to fuel my car up and turned it back on and happened again. I then took it back down and they had to keep the car. It then ended up being a different part and i was charged nearly £1200. I was also able to get a courtesy car and after i drove it home after being told it was all good to drive found out jt had no tax and no MOT so wasn’t road legal. I then came back down to swap it and the second vehicle also had no tax or MOT. Which was shocking as if i was to be pulled over by the police it would be me at fault not PCC.
Neil then knocked the labour off so helped me out with that and then gave me a free service. Then on the weekend it was misfiring again and running awful so i spoke to car sales and dropped it down monday and they said they would look at it in a couple of days and i phoned them on Thursday to see if it had been looked at and the reply i got was we will look at it tomorrow. After chasing them again on friday at 3:30 i asked if it had been looked at and they said it wont be looked at until the following Monday. I then explain that their customer service was shocking and i was being mislead to believe it was being looked at when it wasn’t. Neil then said that they’re now refusing to do anymore work on my car and i need to pick up my car by the end of the day. I was then left with no choice than to pick it up. I was not happy driving it as was misfiring and was constantly juddering. I left it till Saturday to be towed back however i had a hospital appointment and had to get the bus. I then got a phone call from the manager saying if it’s not collected by midday then they will be putting on skates and moved elsewhere.
Their online reservation refund scam
Their online reservation is not refundable. they did not return mine when i decided not to continue with the purchased. i have not signed any documents yet to them to bind any sales to me. scam my money and did not even bother to refund my online reservation. don’t trust this car company. overpriced cars. check the car first before paying any downpayment as if you seen the car personally they will not return your downpayment eveb though you have not sign any documents of sale.
Dangerous cars and false promises
Bought a car from this garage earlier this year. 40 minutes into the drive home, engine problems. It was safer and easier to get the car home at that point. The car was deemed unsafe to drive by 2 garages, so returning the car wasn’t really an option. I was told by Bailey that if I provided my bank details they would reimburse me for the repair costs. I did and, of course, never got a penny. Would not recommend.
I would not hesitate to recommend…
I would not hesitate to recommend Plympton Car Centre. I have just bought a car from them and the professionalism, attention to detail and empathetic manner was nothing short of superb.
Right from the minute I was dealt with i felt valued.
Thank you Jacob , Josh , Bailey , Stewart and every other member of the team
who interacted with me as it 5 Star ⭐
Quick enough to sell, not quick paying outstanding finances
Was advised by the sales person that our finance of the car we were part exchanging would be settled. This was over 2 weeks ago. Come 1st of the month and the finance company has taken payment of previous car, which is now in the hands of PCC. Turns out PCC have not yet settled the finance and we are still paying the finance on it! Poor service and now we are out of pocket. Nothing had been done to resolve this as of yet. This is a shame as at the time, I had posted a positive review as I thought I had a good service
