I completed a Level 3 course with Online Learning College and received my certificate, but my experience was highly inconsistent and, at times, very concerning.

Despite completing all work independently, I was repeatedly accused of using AI, with some assignments flagged at over 90%. This blocked my progress and led to multiple unnecessary resubmissions. The marking process lacked consistency, some work with high AI percentages was accepted, while other assignments with very low percentages were rejected.

A fully rewritten assignment was not properly marked and delayed my progress for months. I was also incorrectly informed that registration with the awarding body only takes place after 75% completion. In reality, the awarding body requires registration within 90 days, with penalties for centres that fail to comply. This misinformation meant I was not registered on time, putting my qualification at risk.

Only after I challenged this and raised the issue directly did my remaining assignments get marked quickly, all showing 0% AI — which raises serious concerns about the reliability of the AI detection process used throughout.

While I did eventually receive my certificate, the overall experience involved unnecessary delays, stress, and a lack of transparency and fairness.

The company is only bothered about making money, no care for the people enrolled as long as they are paying. Taking more out of my bank than agreed and then ignoring my email asking why they took more money than stated.
Takes a ridiculous time to mark the work and still receive fails despite being an a* student on my other courses I studied at college in person.
Really disappointed with the lack of communication, honesty and respect from the company.

I am beyond disappointed with this institution’s conduct. Eight years after I cancelled a course within the legally required 14-day cooling-off period — and never attended or accessed the course — they are still attempting to demand payment.

This has been an exhausting and unnecessary ordeal. No student should have to repeatedly defend a cancellation that was made correctly and on time. The persistence of these payment demands, despite clear communication and the passage of nearly a decade, reflects extremely poor administrative standards.

I strongly urge anyone considering enrolling to keep meticulous records of all communication and to think carefully before committing. My experience has been frustrating, stressful, and wholly unacceptable.

Students deserve transparency, competence, and respect. Sadly, that has not been my experience here.

In my opinion to have to change a company name due to the amount of negative feedback, repeated attempts to take unauthorised payments from people’s accounts for nearly a decade and the rude responses speaks volumes. Stay clear people!

I enrolled on the Level 4 HLTA course at the end of April 2025. The only way to contact my tutor is by messaging as there are no other contact details. I was previously an assessor myself supporting apprentices, my learners could email, text and phone me for support. I messaged my tutor two weeks ago and still not received a reply. This company is not worth the money that is paid to them. Very disappointing.

Have taken my money but no course trying to get money back from credit card now.

Complete waste of time. All the feedback is just copied and pasted with no helpful explanation. You are not given any sort of teaching to help you learn. I just keep getting it sent back to me and I'm finding it so overwhelming. It's not teaching me anything! One of the questions I was told was fine then after a couple of submissions, with no changes to that question all of a sudden it was now wrong. The marking is awful and when I've said I don't understand a question they just send the same copied and pasted reply back. I have no idea how I will ever pass.

Took 5 GCSE courses with OLC:

- English Language: ''Jane' is a pronoun.'; explanation of clauses was incorrect; no procedural writing tasks set (the exam is ALL writing tasks). A private English teacher I hired compressed this entire course into a handful of classes for me, OLC dragged it out to a ~300 page textbook & an expensive course.

- Physics: Tutor support was slow to respond (across all courses, this one just had the worst effect) and took many message exchanges spanning weeks at a time to cover a single topic.

- Mathematics: CGP books offer better explanations and more procedural tasks, this course is a waste of time and money.

- Business: Good course. Not great, but ok.

- Psychology: Comprehensive course, not much useful content, but that's more the curriculum's fault than OLC's.

Not worth it.

CGP revision & practice guides cost: ~£150 for all 5 (~£30 each), less second hand.
&
AI tutor that responds instantly and comprehensively: free. (I used Grok, but ChatGPT likely works too.)

OLC courses (which are the same thing just worse and with glacial tutor support): ~£2,000

Given the uselessness of the worst above-mentioned courses, I requested a partial refund for only 2 of the 5 courses. I was rudely denied this request multiple times, even after offering the support of a university-level tutor to give pointers to improve their English course.

Don't waste your time and money, you can learn all of this much quicker, cheaper and in-depth through £30 textbooks, free AI tutors, and, if necessary: using your remaining saved capital to hire a private tutor. (Who will respond to you far sooner than 2-3 days later).

All time fail in all submissions. DO NOT RECOMMAND

Scammers. I signed up and paid to do the Level 3 Childcare Course, I had no support from my Tutor, I would send my work in to be marked and would get the same copy and paste answer where it was clear she hadn’t even looked at my work or the changes made. This meant I could not move forward at all with my assignments not being marked or passed. This carried on until the year was almost up, and they refused to give me an extension, said I would have to pay x amount for each month if I wanted to finish, however I decided not to because the reason why I couldn’t finish in the first place was due to lack of support and the tutors literally not doing their job. They then took money from my bank account unauthorised, 5 years later, and are still harassing me every month via email to make payments that I don’t owe. A bunch of scammers, and an absolute JOKE of a company. AVOID at all costs!

Coursework criteria was extremely vague, tutor feedback was cut and paste and they would not properly mark my work. They kept sending it back as a fail until I got an A.

I signed up in Oct 2023 but due to family commitments I didn't start the course. After paying 3 monthly payments I contacted Open Learn College and asked if I could cancel. I didn't want a refund for what I had paid to date, just didn't want to continue paying for something I wasn't going to use. I was advised that I will have to complete the monthly payments for the whole 12 months. Apparently, you have 14 days from signing up to cancel. This was not made clear when joining. This is daylight robbery.

This is a scam and o need my money back… I signed up a year ago and I did all the assignment and for a year not 1 assignment has been marked… Mind you I have 2 Masters already…. This is a scam. Please don’t waste your money…

I wouldn’t even give this place a 1 star if I didn’t have to…

I enrolled on to their Level 3 Makeup Course a week or so ago… it’s a 6 unit course and I got to Unit 3 and I was fed up. The amount of inaccuracies in their work books is crazy!

I’ve always had a love for makeup and always researched where it comes to make up, but didn’t feel confident enough to go out as a self-taught MUA, so enrolled onto this course, unit 3 “teaches” you about makeup application in regards to contouring. They put in their work book that you have to apply shade to the areas you’re wanting to enhance and highlighters to places you’re wanting to sculpt 😂 WHAT?! 😂😂

Anyway, I sent them an email asking to be refunded and taken off the course and I will give it to them, they did this very quickly!

However, in the email I evidenced their inaccuracies and sent screen shots of their workbook to be told that there are no inaccuracies. Ask any MUA and you will 100% be told you do not highlight the areas for sculpting and you definitely do not shade the areas you’re wanting to enhance 😂🤦🏻‍♀️

Absolutely AVOID this course if you’re wanting to become a MUA.

£299 is an insult to say the least for this course.

I am currently studying Level 3 Childcare and Education with Online Learning College, it is a great site for remote learning and my tutor answers my questions and marks assignments quickly with the necessary feedback and improvements. You can submit assignments and view lessons at any time so it's great for those working or studying. I am also studying for my A levels and have a heavy sixth-form workload but since there are no deadlines I have complete flexibility and there is no stress from deadlines or submission dates. I am not far off completing my Level 3 and I would definitely use Online Learning College for other courses in future.

I had sent an email to enquire what qualification would be accepted in Northern Ireland as I wanted to become a teaching assistant. I was told level 3 award in supporting teaching and learning. I therefore enrolled in the course and completed all 4 units back in August. I then applied for jobs in schools but was told the qualification is not recognised in Northern Ireland. I wasted my time and money will not be recommending the online learning college in future to anyone wanting to study.

Really good course. Everything is online, easy to use portal and you can pick it up anytime you want to do it. The tutors were very useful and always there to offer support and guidance if you need it. Assignments were marked either that day or the following day.
Would definitely recommend using Online Learning College.

Amazing online college. My tutor changed half way through from Robyn to Georgina but they were both absolutely amazing. Replying fast to any queries and provided support when i needed it

I started this course in January and was able to spread my payments out over 10 months making this super affordable to be able to learn. I completed my course before the year was up because you are able to choose the hours you want to learn and are suitable. The system is super easy to navigate and a tutor is available all the time. (I have had 3 different tutors throughout this 9 months, all fabulous but would have been great to have seen it through with just one as you are no notified that tutor has left or changed) I would definitely recommend them to anyone and can't wait to look into another course to do.

this course was amazing. From the personal tutors to the online community that assisted me through the course. It covers a wide range of subjects that are easy to navigate and if there is anything that you don't understand, everyone is very helpfull.
