Ofwat are a disgrace & not fit for purpose. All the staff at ofwat should be sacked for not doing there job . We read this week that 3 water companies have been fined £198 million lol a drop in the ocean to them considering the profits they've been creaming off the public. Ofwat have not been monitoring the illegal sewage dumping in our rivers it has allowed the water companies to monitor itself. Water a joke it's like the police investigating the police. So why is ofwat staff paid out of tax payer's money to sit on there backsides & do nothing. It's a joke at the publics expense. I have no doubt all water companies that receive a fine will just increase our bill to pay these fines. So in real terms who is paying these fine us the customer again . One more question where does these fines monies go to the government? This money should be returned to the water companies customer's. & ofwat should be scapped & an independent watchdog be created asp . I do have to say it's not just the water companies that need investigating ofwat do as well . What has ofwat been doing all these year nothing they continue to allow water companies to rip off the public left right & centre disgraceful. Shame on you ofwat

When l hear the word Ofwat mentioned, l start laughing !!! , what a joke they are ,
They are supposed to look after the customers interests and bring to account the water company's, but in fact they do the exact opposite, they are toothless ,
a total waste of space , the sooner they are got rid of , and a new independent body set up the better , Ofwat will counter the critersisam by saying we fine where nessersery, Yes but who's paying the fines ? The poor bill payers, instead take it from the bonuses payed to the directors and managers , and how come bonuses are payed to them for failure?, it would be frightening to see how much they would be payed for a good service, they cannot loose.

Ofwat are looking after the interests of the investors in the water industry and there own bonuses I truly believe the next scandal and cover up that will surface is about the corruption and lies told by the government and the utility company’s people should refuse to pay any increase in water rates due to the horrific conditions of our rivers and sea pollution it’s time for the British people to stand together

Disband Ofwat. Referred South East Water to them following multiple failures. They clearly have no interest in supporting consumers. This is a failing organisation that needs to be disbanded.

What's the point of a regulator that allows the water companies to complete destroy our country? They have always known the water companies were lying and polluting our rivers and they have allowed it. If it was just one or two of the water companies failing us, we could blame the companies, but this is every single water company in the country. That is all corrupt, useless, and pathetic ofwats fault. Abject failure. Complete reform and jail terms for all involved including ofwat personnel would be the correct way to address this massive crime but of course nothing will happen. The people of the uk have been robbed blind and will be forced to spend billions to fix ofwats criminal negligence. The Guardians 'dirty secret' article shows that it is industry practice to pollute our country while ofwat does nothing.

After closing my account on Feb 1st & paying off my bill Thames Water have just sent me another bill five weeks later. They are charging me for an account that they have already closed. I would say avoid the company but if you live in London you can’t do

Ofwat have failed the public, failed the environment and allowed the water companies to discharge raw sewage into the UK's rivers. The water companies are now increasing our bills to clean up the mess they have neglected and Ofwat has ignored. Why has Ofwat not held the water companies to account on where the money they have had over the years? Why because they are useless and NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE.

Seriously ought to be ashamed of yourself bunch of criminals just watched Joe Lycett on channel 4 ,disgusting!

They can't improve, they are steered by those who they regulate.
Get rid of them and regenerate impartial regulators .

Iain Coucher, your organisation is a joke. Funded by water companies licence fees you and your team sit back and watch our waters become a toxic river of sewage.
Amy Manfield wrote to me yesterday and blamed everyone but themselves for allowing water companies to fix data and under report to OFWAT despite me providing evidence to her of this practice. I can only provide OFWAT with the info I have but it needs OFWAT to challenge water company’s internal reports which members of the public cannot access.
She gloats on how well OFWAT does, how concerned about the environment they are, yet refuse to act on information about malpractices going on with she/her blessing.
It’s not good enough Iain, get a grip. If you and your massive team don’t want to put the legwork into sorting things out, go, get out of the way and let someone in who has more back bone than a jelly fish take over.
Your web site shows your management team with smug smiles on their faces. No wonder when they are creaming off their salaries from our bills and doing nothing whatsoever to earn it. Shame on you all.
Might I suggest Amy and you go work in a chip shop at the seaside so you can watch sanitary towels drift by like we have to?
The public are waking up to your activities and want action now. For the love of god contact me and take my allegations seriously, investigate and hold these profiteers to account.

Utterly useless. Claim to be angry about how water companies work yet refuse to do anything about it. Maybe they should decide to actually do their job.

I always thought Ofwat which was suppose to regulate water companies was instead only working to serve them - Ofwat have watched and they must have known what Thames water was doing - £14,000,000,000 yes thats Billion in debt - I believe Ofwat should be closed down immediately, they are obviously regulating one thing and thats regulating the rich to get richer by ripping the people of the UK & Britain off in 2019 they supported £100,000 BONUSES on top of water bosses already high wages in the Millions "£24.8 million was paid to the 22 water bosses, including £14.7 million in bonuses, benefits and incentives in 2021/22" which David Black chief executive of Ofwat gave them his blessings stating “There isn’t sufficient account given for what’s actually happening in the sector; we appreciate it’s complex, it’s difficult to understand. We are determined to drive better outcomes from company performance.” Isn't that his job to find out? what is he getting paid for?? He's obviously getting paid himself to turn a blind eye - And now look 1 year later inflation goes up and all of a sudden Thames water doesn't want to pay higher interest on their "loans" so now they declare they going bust - its absolutely disgusting - they need taking to court and held to account.
And whoever loaned this money to Thames water need locking up and throw away the key - since the 'crash' of 2008 we have all been being ripped of in this country by corrupt politicians and 'regulators' and big business, non of them get held to account they just keep getting richer sending the message out for others to do the same.
Unbelievably all the water companies are now wanting to increase bills here by 20% - is that to cover the interest from all the loans they have taken out now gone up because of inflation i would bet my life on it!

Allowing huge debts to be placed on the water utilities that should be there to provide a service and plow back profit into improvements in infrastructure...

Instead OFWAT have allowed these mostly foreign owned investors to place huge unmanageable debt onto these water services, bleeding them dry, which has resulted in a complete lack of necessary investment in infrastructure.

At the same time OFWAT allows these water firms to increase there charges to consumers, where we are now going to foot the bill for infrastructure that needs huge investment.... As these foreign investors laugh all the way to the bank....

Completely incomplete organisation that needs to be shut down.

Oftwat is completely corrupt as it is reported that the senior management for Oftwat go on to work for the water companies as senior management!

This regulator needs to start doing its job to avoid situations like that at Thames Water. Yet another pointless regulator

In view of near collapse of Thames Water with Billions of pounds of debt++ many other private water companies in huge debt surely it's time to dismantle this Useless organization.

Water is a natural resource which is a critical element to live. It has always baffled me that we are charged for a basic human requirement however over the past two years Ofwat has really pushed their luck.

First MPs voted to allow water companies to dump raw sewage into our rivers and oceans which is disgusting especially given the insane profits.

Yet today the headlines read - "Households could be rationed water annually and charged if they go over limit" - absolutely disgusting. Its about time we all stop paying these crooks.

Anglian Water are increasing their prices by 10.7% in April - YES - 10.7%. Ministers keep telling us that inflation is going down, so why has Ofwat sanctioned such an increase.
Water companies continue to pollute our rivers and our beaches and what does Ofwat do - not much.
Seems to me that Ofwat has too cosy a relationship with the water companies.
