A journey of diagnosis
I was admitted to Ward 112 in June last year where I was diagnosed with Non Hodgkins Lymphoma. I had a varied and sometimes turbulent journey through diagnosis to treatment and this review is to commend the staff that helped me through this journey. Dr Stone - consultant haematologist, her team were without a doubt excellent. I would like to especially mention, some of the medical staff, Dr Stone (of course), Ali, who was there in the initial period of diagnosis, later Mariella. The other Doctors I met during the course were all excellent in their care and professionalism. Trisha Ferguson, Specialist Lymphoma Nurse, has been the most supportive and positive throughout this journey, always making herself available despite the demands of her role going the extra mile. All the staff on the Anchor unit, their expertise, patience and kindness - above and beyond. Dr Helen, Clinical Psychologist for listening to my woes and offering patience and understanding. All the other members of staff that I have met and not mentioned, different departments, Radiology, Respiratory, and so on.
Of course I encountered some issues with some, but the overall experience does overshadow the negative.
This journey for me will continue, however it has given me confidence in any future care.
