Want to put me in an early grave

NFU Want to put me in an early grave. The stress is killing me!

For the past 8+ months all they’ve done is wind me up. The constant flow of letters saying nothing. Today I burnt all the recent ones unopened. Sick of this. Sick of needless stress. Sick of sleepless nights. This claim is taking over my life and killing me. It’s taken them months to get my medical file from Speed Medical and now they expect me to take an unpaid day off work to see a Dr about an injury which happened last year and has since healed. Pointless! I’m not going without my wages. The accident has already cost me wages. Enough now. This company will do everything they can NOT to pay out even though the company responsible for injury admitted liability! They put YOU in touch with ME! You have my medical report. You have liability admitted. That should be enough. To top this off, the company who injured me have now threatened me. Charming! I didn’t ask to be injured. Negligence and no health and safety in place to safe guard the public caused my pain. They pay for NFU to handle the negligence and they don’t. They are more like solicitors defending the guilty. They said this will be sorted in 3 months. Been over 8. Fed up. Sick of them.

If this had been a car accident this matter would have been sorted out quickly. Awful company, treats people badly.

YOU SAY YOU NEED MORE INFO. IVE COMPLAINED MANY TIMES. NOTHING NO ACTION TAKEN. I’ve asked for the person dealing with it to be changed - Leesa. Why do I need to see a Dr when the injury has healed. You don’t explain that. I can’t afford to lose more wages. It’s pointless making me go. God knows how far away this Dr is - petrol, carparks, maybe train fare costs to pay…. Turning up there with no injury achieves what? Wastes their time too. I suppose you will say, well we asked you to comply and you didn’t. So all this stress for the last nearly 9 months has been for nothing! I have to cop being hit with machinery, lose wages,suffer pain for months. For what? This has been the worst year of my life because of them and you in some sort of pact together. Business gets away with it. Do you have to treat people like this? I’m the victim. My Dr says not to stress me out because of a condition I have. You will make me really ill. You just don’t stop. I got injured on a business premises because of negligence. They admitted fault. You have medical records. Just deal with the claim and stop stressing me out! Treat me fairly and as a human being. I’m a victim not a criminal!

Why do you need a copy of my passport for an injury claim?

Quite frankly if you insist on me wasting my and the drs time, not getting my wages to attend the appt. Letting my elderly clients down who heavily rely on me to attend this appt. YOU CAN COVER THE COST UPFRONT! WHY SHOULD I BE OUT OF POCKET IN ALL THIS????

In all this time you’ve never asked how much this incident has cost me financially, not asked how I was doing. You just send out threats - contact the business involved again and you will be in big trouble... They should be in trouble for everything they’ve put me through. I only popped in there for what should have been 5 mins. Left with an injury, lost wages, months of stress battling you lot!!! Finding out without them saying that the money they offered was withdrawn. ITS BEEN GREAT! It was on cctv. They admitted it. Why am I being punished for being honest? I didn’t sign anything to say I can’t tell anyone what happened. I DID have to go to hospital.

Life stinks. You make it worse. Unbearable.

As far as I can see online, no company can just gag you. I’m now seeking legal advice. I told the truth! No law in that! I can’t eat, sleep. Blood pressure through the roof. And for what? Because a driver didn’t loom where he was going! Cheers for everything!

You’ve broken me. Well done you! Did I deserve this? Any of it?

I should get a solicitor. Still got over 2 years to do so. You can deal with them direct and leave me be! You can pay their bill!

Our problem was a water leak that flooded our ground floor

Our problem was a water leak that cascaded from the ceiling.
We discovered it when we returned home from shopping.
I immediately turned the water off at the main stop valve, checked there were no obvious electrical sockets that could be dangerous, and then telephoned the NFU emergency number.
From that moment on we have been impressed by the whole system in place to deal with the claim.
The NFU emergency handler, calmy dealt with us and all he said would happen did happen.
Ben Armitage, the loss adjuster from Sedgwick’s was outstanding.
He arrived quickly, and has led the team of other personnel and subcontractors perfectly.
He was ably assisted by Rachel Wilson, who was very diligent with communication and help in a timely manner.
She also kept us up to date when any payments due to us from NFU were to be made.
The drying and removal subcontractor did their job and dried the house and removed and returned the contents.
The building and repair company, BMC East Ltd, were outstanding.
Led by the superb Mark Daynes, we were consulted, given calm assurance, and were treated at all times with wonderful care and attention. However, the best part was their attitude of getting everything right and every one of their employees, who came here, did an excellent job in their own speciality, and had an equally excellent attitude.

It is the credit of NFU that they employ such ideal people to deal with claims such as ours.
Thank you for handling our claim so well. You have enabled a dreadful occurrence to be minimised in its impact.

An upsetting and inaccessible interview experience

I attended an interview here for a customer-service insurance role. I had disclosed beforehand that I am autistic, and I went into the interview genuinely hopeful because I have done similar customer-service work before and believed I could do the job well.

Part of the interview involved five candidates being put together in a room and asked to complete a large wooden puzzle while several managers sat watching and assessing us. For an autistic person, being judged live in a group task like that, alongside other candidates, can be incredibly difficult. It felt like I was being assessed on how well I could perform socially in an artificial group situation, rather than on whether I had the skills and experience to actually do the job.

Afterwards, I had a one-to-one interview which I felt went well. I left the building feeling positive and hopeful. When I was later told I had not been successful, the reason given was mainly how I handled the puzzle/group task.

That feedback hurt me far more than I think they realised. It completely knocked my confidence. I have not applied for another job in months because it left me feeling like, as an autistic person, I will always be judged against neurotypical people in situations that are not built for me, and that I will never really be given a fair chance.

I am not writing this to be cruel. I am writing it because recruitment processes need to be accessible and fair for neurodivergent applicants too. I hope they seriously review how they assess autistic candidates, because the impact of getting it wrong can be much deeper than just “not getting the job.”

Great help from them when broken down

After breaking down, NFU were excellent in helping out. RAC had us waiting for 4 hours before passing us on to Macadam who then turned up promptly. In the meantime, NFU were very helpful, they organised a taxi for my wife and dog, kept constant check on us, and even called us afterwards to check we got home safely.
A huge, thank you to NFU, and Macadam. I only wished the RAC would be that helpful.

Very poor communication would not push…

Very poor communication would not push my claim, as I had to do all the chasing. The claim was said to be 50/50, but I was parked full comp ins at a very high premium, full no-claims, 10 years plus, and ended up paying for my own repairs. What's the point in being insured with a company like this?

I lost an expensive hearing aid on a…

I lost an expensive hearing aid on a Scottish river bank. I informed NFU immediately but continued to look for it. I got back on the Sunday and told NFU immediately and I received full compensation by the end of the week. No silly questions no prevarication and critically no delay which I have experienced on the few occasions I have dealt with insurance companies in the past . Well done Nathan and Jamal.

NFU insurance - smallholding in Wales

We have a smallholding in Wales. I would highly recommend NFU insurance. They visit you to understand what is to be covered as most insurance companies only have online forms and many parts of a smallholding don't fit into any category. We felt confident after the visit that that understood our setup and that it would be covered. After storm Darragh in Dec 2024, they proved their worth, being helpful, prompt and considerate with our claim and particularly so, when it took nearly 18 months to get a complicated repair completed - they were with us all the way. Highly recommend.

Water damage claim

NFU reacted promptly and helpfully with what was a disaster for me.
They appointed contractors immediately to make the building safe and prevent further damage and to begin the drying out.
The claim was settled in full with no prevarication.

NFU are a fabulous insurer

NFU are a fabulous insurer. I have my home insurance with them, as I have a pet, I also include him on it. This covers vets bills up to a certain amount each year. This was great as my old cat aged, because premiums didn’t go up as they do with traditional pet insurance. Typically my cat recently displayed eye trauma over the bank holiday weekend. I was able to attend the out of hours emergency vet with confidence that it would only cost the £50 excess.

Just tried to obtain quote from nfu for car insurance who have me on mailing list only the be told not eligible??? No idea why driving for many years without problem cant understand why and no explanation cant wait for new nfu mail shot to arrive
