Visited the new Beverley restaurant. We were really impressed with the interior and ambiance, and the food was amazing. Lots of choice and it all sounded delicious. Bex our waitress talked us through everything, saying we can ask for dishes to be adjusted to accommodate our “heat” requirements if needed. We even got some complimentary chat bombs, which were fantastic. We both said we’ll definitely go again, and work our way through the menu 😃

My family and I went to the Leeds one last night. I had been looking forward to it for ages. I have to say I was disappointed. Gunpowder chicken was dry - cocktails not great. We were sat squeezed into a small space and I think they forgot us as when we asked for desserts we were told we only had ten mins left on the table. Waitress was lovely 10/10 by very stressed. Never again

Stumbled on this place while venturing through Liverpool. Absolutely delicious food. Venue was really nice, but I'm all about the food and this was value for money. Highly recommend. It felt high-end without the high-end prices

Mowgli in Oxford never disappoints.. each dish packed with flavour . Lovely staff . Lovely touch with brownie ice cream and candle for husbands birthday… our favourite restaurant…thankyou everyone

After experiencing a great service at Mowgli in Glasgow (March 2023) I decided to try Brighton’s on 22/05/23 and what a disappointment! Although the food was bang on the service was diabolical/atrocious. I didn’t know wether to put it down to racism or staff just focusing on the potential bigger tippers as I was on my own (business trip).
When I arrived I felt ignored. Two ladies after me were shown to seats and I had to ask for a table. I was shown to a table at a rather noisy location (birthday celebration going on) and asked if I could sit somewhere more quieter to which I was declined. Nevertheless as I sat on my allocated table I moved seats as the table next to me had a charger and without charging my phone I may not have been able to pay the bill. As the lady who previously showed me to my table (turned out to be the manager) walked past she said I couldn’t sit there to which I said I had to charge my phone. She rolled her eyes and walked off. She then eventually took my order. Another member of staff brought (felt more like three) my starter. I had to ask for a plate. Then eventually someone else brought over my drink. The manager brought over my lamb chops again it felt like threw at me. Throughout my visit not one person came and asked if everything was ok like they normally do. Eventually I had to get up and walk to the bar and get a glass of tap water for mysel. After eating my starter and main I had to get up and ask a member of staff for the dessert menu. When my dessert arrived I asked the waitress if I could have the bill and needless to say that it never arrived. After a considerable wait I had to get up and ask for the bill. So all in all I had to get up three times and ask for water, dessert menu and the bill. Also when I arrived unlike other customers I was not given a plate so had to ask for one!
When I arrived back from the restroom after getting up and asking for the bill for the second time I was astounded and somewhat amused by the bill that laid on the table for me which included service charge of £3.55! I picked up all my belongings and walked to the manager. I asked her if she thought I should be charged for the service considering the above. Initially instead of apologising she said ‘you don’t have to pay for it.’ She was very cold and unresponsive when I told her the above and explained how I felt. She showed zero remorse. When I asked who was allocated to my table she didn’t response. Throughout my ordeal I witnessed members of staff interacting with other guests which included chatting laughing and asking them if they were ok but shamefully no one came to me. As this manager was not capable of holding a discussion with me about my experience I asked for a ‘proper’ bill (minus the service charge) and left. As I was leaving she shouted loudly ‘goodbye’ with a snide tone. So I walked back in and asked for her name (Kat).
So all in all apart from the food (compliments to the kitchen and bar staff) the service was atrocious and I’ve never felt so humiliated in a restaurant. It’s bad enough going on your own (business trip) for then having diabolical service prolonging your stay.

I popped in for a light lunch in the Leeds restaurant. It was our first time, and we found that the overall food and service were fabulous, and they could not do enough for you as a customer. I would highly recommend a visit and trying the "Chat Bombs".

Tried Mowgli Glasgow, thought it was a nice place for a birthday treat, but disappointing. Prices fair till the waitress said its tiny portions you'd be better buying 2 or 3 mains and she wasn't kidding. They come in small camping tins that do look miserable on the plate. Works out overly expensive when you order enough for a decent plateful. Place was quiet and they still got the order wrong. Food was ok but mothing youd rave about. For a birthday treat was there no longer than half an hour, its really just an overpriced fast food place.

Good food. Great service from Adam who explained how it all worked and the food sizes etc. All came quick and hot.
Not sure about the swings, it was difficult to get arms in a position to eat.
The only negative was the price of a small bottle of Cobra £4.95, and no draft beer.
But it was a good experience

I went to the Charlotte Street branch with my partner for my birthday celebrations.

From the moment we saw an entire restaurant of miserable faces at the tables and nobody eating we knew something was wrong. It played out as expected. This is purely about the Charlotte Street branch as other reviewers say they’ve had great experiences at other branches in the uk. I’m not telling the full story here as it even bores me.

The food was very late, (drinks later), it was all cold/Luke warm (all of it was sent back, after a discussion with the manager), very small portions and inadequately served in extremely unpractical metal tiffin tins(no room on the tables). Overall…..the food is very mediocre and very very bland in taste. As for the ‘mock tails’ you may as well just inject sugar straight into your system, undrinkable.

Service was appalling and an utter shambles. Never the same server, serving our food to a different table, not bringing all the food. All the tables had the same treatment, from the far left being served their dessert ‘and the bill’ while the teenage waiter hovered behind them to be paid while they ate (the bill was incorrect). To the table on the right who had booked in advance but were told on arrival that they had not received their booking. All the tables around us had a fair share of problems. The staff seemed either short of a few brain cells (telling us in depth about the meat dishes after we explicitly said we were vegetarians) or just didn’t care (the manager had no excuses/reasons or……apologies!).

My partner had been looking forward to coming here for months. It spoilt my (large number) birthday treat. We shall never be returning.

As an important aside, the restaurant itself must have been designed by a teenager for teenagers (swing seats (???) fairy lights and cheap gold). Its very shabby, needs painting and a very very good clean. The music being played is euro pop, loud, inappropriate, really off putting (all the other tables commented as well). The designers really hit the wrong demographic.

Interesting to read similar reviews held by the ‘staff’ as well on another site.

If you’re after authentic food, I would highly suggest eating elsewhere or saving your money.

I’ve eaten around the world, this is the worst all round experience I’ve ever had. Never have I felt so disappointed and angry and refused to pay (a first ever for me) for what would have been over £100 for the meal (we only had a starter in the end).

The food was great. It indeed was amazing. Everything we ordered for the table was good. The presentation was amazing; loved the nostalgia of what we call “tiffin box or Dabba”

Tasteful: Dal, Roti, Goan Fish curry, Chicken.

Secretly giving three stars, because of the following,
1. Too less a portion - hence its expensive.
2. Rice: was plain and hardly couple of intake (£3.50) - unacceptable even in a star hotel (just making a point)
3. Masala chai - tea bag (really?), come on Mowgli you can do better - so, that constitutes to being expensive.

I wouldn’t visit often, but the food tasted authentic, may be once every 6-8 months; may be.

Very disappointed- Excessive service charge plus the fact that everything is served in dribs and drabs and there doesn't appear to be much of a choice for ordering drinks. It's based on street food, served in utensils that are street food BUT the prices certainly aren't street food prices. And the service charge is disgusting. Do the staff get their wages out of the service charge so the company don't have to pay them??? Also there was only 1 Gents toilet and two Ladies which wasn't enough for the size of the premises. Every time we went we had to que up! The only positive was that the staff were all lovely. We won't be eating there again.

Having waited quite some time to book a table for a small group of 6 people we eagerly awaited our evening. We arrived and were seated promptly. Ordered drinks the only beer available were small bottles of cobra beer which arrived warm, one of our party asked for a brandy, no brandy! Replaced her order with a jack Daniels, no jack daniels ( what resteraunt doesn't have jd?) We ordered the food which arrived in dribs and drabs over about a 40 min period, some arriving barely warm and one dish in particular completely cold! To be honest the warm food was OK, but certainly nothing to write home about, my local Indian take away serves just as good and at least it's hot! With the last round of drinks I asked for a medium red wine, didn't arrive! Time to pay the bill £280 ish we were then told that there was a £28 service bill, for the staff. Point one I'm certain that they get paid, (were in preston not new york) point 2 I reserve the right to tip after good service (which to be fair unless its diabolical I usually do ) but I do object to having it embarrassingly added as though it's a given. We did pay and we did tip and we left! My experience of mowgli was not good! poor service poor choice of drinks average semi warm food! ~ As a foot note the place was half full at best maybe people are actually reading trustpilot and voting with their feet, I certainly am.

My second visit, first visit November and second December 2022.
The restaurant is stunning, staff are super friendly and the food is delicious…

But the restaurant is cold, last week I sat with my coat on and could not heat up .. Seemingly an issue with the heating, however the previous month was the same, just not as cold … We are in Scotland we need cozy!! I couldn’t wait to finish and go … Such a shame

Went on a Thursday night at 8.20. turned away as not booked on line. It was nearly empty. Went elsewhere.

Visited the Preston branch and had an amazing meal. Everything from the decor, the staff and the food was excellent. It's one of those places that's great to go as a group so you can order lots of different dishes and try everything. Very reasonable priced as well, we'll definitely be returning.

Visited the Charlotte Street location today, super friendly and efficient service, nice relaxed ambience, yummy tiffin box dishes full of flavour and depth and can't wait to go back to try more!
Good job Mowgli team!
PS - only reason for not 5 stars is that the chai masala tea was not very authentic and lacked the spices and depth it should have, otherwise all great!

We have been to the Manchester restaurant many many times. We absolutely love the food & the staff are really friendly.
