Genius idea! A fantastic service, easy & flexible booking system, competitive rates.

I had heard about the service online and through friends and thought I'd give it a try as a once off. Booking someone to come via the website was so simple and everything was clearly and simply explained. I really liked the flexibility and of course the cost. Everything had been thought out. We got a confirmation email with the name of the person who would be coming and it was as simple as that.
On the day of the clean, the representative was on time and professional but also very conscientious. They used their time efficiently and worked non stop for the whole duration.
I'm signing up to have someone come regularly now as I've realised I can't live without this.
Well done guys!

Do not use this service! Shady outfit!!!

DO NOT use mopp.com if you dont believe me read the other reviews on here. Wish i'd found this website first.

Cleaners are fine. Some are in fact good. Mopp.com is a shambles. Expect to be charged for cleans that you dont book. (they wont refund this). Expect cleaners to turn up late or not at all and mopp.com can never explain why. It really has been a huge mistake getting involved, and once you are signed up its impossible to leave! I have wasted countless hours trying to sort this mess and lost money. Use a different provider!

Awful customer service. DO NOT USE

First review ive ever written online for any product or service which sums up how bad the service was. Hope nobody else gets caught out. We had a clean with Mopp about a month ago and were not happy with the quality of the clean. Their customer service was excellence as I was offered a 50% off clean with a new cleaner. 2 weeks later when clean was due (12pm), the original cleaner turned up and said mopp had not told her she had been cancelled which was embarrassing for both of us. We had to turn her away and explain why we'd cancelled. When we rang mopp they had no idea why she turned up... it should have been someone else. We then went out for the day (having not had a clean) and got a call at 1pm from the cleaner that should have turned up saying she was at our house and was sorry she was an hour late she had slept in! We were not at house so couldnt get the clean done as were not expecting a second cleaner to turn up an hour late! Needless to say I contacted Mopp and explained that I wanted to cancel my fortnightly clean permanently. I was offered no refund or much really other than another 50% off clean. But so far im down £50 and have only had one bad clean. Thankfully mopp cancelled our arrangement... this was a month ago. Out the blue I have just checked my emails and I have a clean reminder for today!!!! For my fortnightly clean?! and a £25 charge. Mopp has not contacted me (other than this reminder) and I have not contacted them. For some reason after a month mopp have decided to restart my fortnightly subscription. This really just sums up the experience I have had with mopp so far. Great idea. Awful execution.

AVOID - don't waste your time!

I have used Mopp on 4 occasions over 8 weeks and was initially pleased at the ease of booking and the first cleaner they sent. However my last 3 cleans have been a comedy of errors!

1. I waited 2 hours for a cleaner on 1 occasion, spent 30 minutes on the phone following up, was told she was “minutes away” – another hour waiting and still no cleaner – she never arrived.

2. Appalling customer service and call centre staff, often wait 20 minutes on hold to finally talk to someone who then tells me they can’t help me and they will have a manager call back, I have never received a call back.

3. The time of my confirmed booking has changed on two occasions 12 hours before the scheduled clean, I work 5 days a week and have often tried to work from home the morning of the clean, this has been incredibly inconvenient.

4. Quality of cleaning provided is really hit and miss, sometimes the rubbish is removed, sometimes the surfaces are dusted, and sometimes the bathrooms are vacuumed other times they are not.

I will never use Mopp again and will go back to using Fantastic Cleaners.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY - THEY HAVE NO CUSTOMER SERVICE

I bought a Groupon voucher for this company on the 7th July. I used the on line chat to find out when/how I could book. I was told someone would contact me as the guy who does the Groupons was very busy but I was given an email address so I sent them an email to ask for date and time with address details ect. I got a reply on the 8th asking for voucher code and giving me a date and time, which I excepted. I emailed and said I would like an extra two hours, the person said I needed to call to pay. I called four times but couldn't get through so I emailed back to say I couldn't get through. I didn't hear anything from Mopp so as far as I was concerned I had a booking for the 12th July at 12.00 which I was given via emails. I called on the Friday 11th to try and add the two extra hours but was told I had no booking for the next day. I asked to speak to a manager, one wasn't available but would call me back, no call came. I called back again and spoke to a manager called Grace, she apologised for the mix up and said she would book me in for the following Saturday, 19th July, I have just called up as I didn't trust she would have made the booking and guess what they have NO BOOKING... I am now waiting for another manager called Tara to get back to me, I wont be holding my breathe.. Not sure what I have to do to actually get a booking but I can tell you something, they was going to get a regular booking from me, but if they cant get this together then there is no way they can do a weekly regular booking.. I will also be contacting Groupon to complain...

Cannot resolve this complaint & have lost confidence with Mopp so now trying to sort out refund with Groupon... Fed up with speaking to unprofessional kids!!!!

Excellent!!

The young lady who came to clean my home was very nice and polite and did an excellent job, she was very professional as I just told her what needed cleaning and she just got on with the job! In fact my bathroom has never looked so clean even after my previous cleaner had finished. Thanks to Mopp.

Disaster

Cleaner did not show up for few times.
Rubbish left on the floor and working slow motion
We tried to complain no one answer any calls seems one person working is company communications Zero
I do not recommended to anyone unless you want your house to stay dirty

Brilliant

My daughter recommended Mopps to us . We just needed someone to help with a one off clean as my son was moving flats . We booked our cleaner for 3 hours on a Sunday ! She arrived on time and worked really hard cleaning the kitchen including the cooker and defrosting and cleaning the fridge .Cleaning cupboards etc . She then gave the bathroom a thorough clean and finished off by mopping all the floors. She was a great help and worked very hard .
I have been recommending your company and would use again .

I think the cleaner spent her whole time sitting down

I was really looking forward to coming home to a lovely clean house, but unfortunately the cleaner that Mopp sent round clearly doesn't believe in working very hard.

The bath had soap scum all over it, the toilet was dirty, the carpet had barely been vacuumed, the stove top was dirty. All in all, she did an exceptionally poor job, and was a very bad representative of the company.

I will go with my instincts and employ someone privately. I'll never use Mopp again. Extremely disappointed.

Cleaner didn't show up, there was no communication and I'm very disappointed

One hour late and I have resigned myself to the fact that my cleaner is not going to come. I booked a three hour clean through Groupon for £15, which is a big discount but the whole point of Groupon is to incentivise people to try out and then regularly use a service... Not to treat them like dirt because they are discounted customers. Also, they do not give Groupon customers appointments at "prime times".. I.e. on Fridays or before 12:00 on other days.

I have to admit that alarm bells started ringing when it was difficult to get a response from the dedicated Groupon email address, and when I called, the customer service agent just told me to email again (what kind of a service is that?). Finally we arranged a time... 18:00 on the 7th of July. A cleaner was assigned and I even called to pay the extra £5 so that she would bring her own cleaning products.

The website says to wait for 30 minutes before contacting them if the cleaner is late... Unfortunately the phone lines close at 18:00 and after that there is no way to contact Mopp... You cannot even get through to the cleaner directly so we were left in the dark (and the lurch!). An out of hours service would be nice!

I like to think I am a reasonable person and know that people can sometimes be held up for a variety of reasons; traffic, personal issues etc etc... However what I despise is not to receive any communication to say that the cleaner would not be turning up. I also left work early in order to be back before 18:00 to let the cleaner in.

I will be calling Mopp tomorrow to demand my money back and will book with the much more highly regarded Hassle.com. I am also going to contact Groupon to let them know of my disappointing experience.

I really hate to give companies bad reviews because I don't want to come across as a whiny, moaning person but please do not trust Mopp. They are unreliable, their customer service is shoddy and for me, my cleaner did not show up, causing a lot of inconvenience...

Update 09:20 08/07/2014: Cleaner did not turn up at all. Nothing heard from either her or Mopp. Still fuming and will be telling friends and family to avoid.

It doesn't quite work

Didn't work for me. Though I have to say I got promised a full refund, to be fair to the business. Hope it will arrive at my bank account.
My story. Imagine a busy professional, moving houses at the same time, looking for cleaners online, suddenly coming across this service. How wonderful, you can book a vetted cleaner online! Well, I've booked for Saturday, cut a few ours of my so much needed sleep and went to the new property to wait for my cleaner. No show. I've contacted them via LiveChat (good they have it in fact!), customer services didn't quite want to get that I booked for Saturday, as my booking was shown as for Friday, the same time. Checked confirmation email - indeed, Friday. Btw, the email stated that they are not about end of tenancy cleaner requests but finding a trusted long term cleaner (which they are not achieving looking at comments below, either). Doesn't sound very welcoming for new customers who in fact could be bought in by such a trial! The guys need to learn marketing too.
How did it happen, have I gone mad? So, I've done my investigation. Either of those: US calendar they use for booking, that shows Friday as the 6th day of the week, or spaghetti in their backend booking system. Looking at comments below, the second one actually looks very likely now.
But that's not the only problem. The main problem is that I've ended up sitting there waiting Saturday morning. No one called me on Friday to ask why I am not in and whether I still want the cleaning. No one! I was half an hour away, free from meetings at that time and could've rushed home to let the cleaner in.
I don't think it quite works yet. I've booked with a competitive service now which has an advantage of connecting customers and cleaners and sharing their mobile numbers so this is less likely to happen.

If a cleaner notifies us that the customer is not there, or if they have difficulty getting into the house, we always tell them to notify us so that we can call the customer. Started off well... but too many no shows and sub-par customer service

My first few cleans from Mopp were rather good and one out of the two cleaners they sent to me was very thorough. But after two no shows in a row and customer services seemingly not flagging my concerns up properly (plus a 15 minute wait on the phone the one time!) I have decided to end my subscription with them and look elsewhere. They really need to improve to be taken seriously as a business.

Excellent service. Customer service facility needs to improve a little as the one (and only) time a cleaner didn't turn up I received no notification that he/ she would not be coming.
