Awful hotel
Awful hotel. Rude staff. Dirty mouldy rooms and a yellow/green coloured swim up pool. If you want a nice holiday I would recommend you avoid here.

Awful hotel. Rude staff. Dirty mouldy rooms and a yellow/green coloured swim up pool. If you want a nice holiday I would recommend you avoid here.
This is the longest most detailed review I have ever had to write so lets start with the good points. The food is edible and there is lots of it all day and they do a very good iced latte and it’s a nice location by the sea.
Now for the bad points. Don’t think you’re going to be here as an all inclusive guest. You have paid for all inclusive but please read the small print and their ever changing rules. You can’t have bottled water, we were refused any non fizzy soft drinks unless we paid extra at the bar and the alcohol is completely undrinkable. In fact, after two drinks my gums and throat was sore, and my stomach turning. If you pay a fortune to upgrade and they will push this on you, they give you better drinks but this is a extra 30 euros a night, and every member of the room has to upgrade weather you drink alcohol or not or else none of you can. Be warned though I have been told even those drinks are watered down. Most guests had to leave the hotel to buy their own water and drinks at the small mini market down the road which we also did.
Shall we move on to the pool and sunbeds. If you’re all inclusive you won’t get one easily, prepare to have to get up at 0630 to put your towel down and you will be asked to move and be pushed further and further away from the pool unless you pay more again to reserve a bed. That’s if they will even let you do that. Depends if your prepared to pay them enough. The poor staff member that is told to kick us off looks embarrassed when doing so and keeps apologising. It is so disrespectful and watching it all week made me feel awkward as I saw confusion and arguments regarding this.
The pool isn’t just for guest members either. Yes it is supposed to be but watch the locals come in and use it like a public swimming pool.
If you are an all inclusive guest at this hotel you are definitely looked down upon unless you upgrade and pay. The blue bands means your the lowest of the low. It’s just band hierarchy. Blue being the lower class, purple being working class and silver being the higher class and it really does feel this way. I was told by one of the bar staff at the pool bar in an extremely rude manner that I was just ‘basic’. He was gesturing with his hands as if to go away while repeating your basic, just basic. I said to him his behaviour was extremely rude and asked for his name so I could complain. He covered his badge with his hand and said I am not giving it to you. I said I will take a picture of you and show the reception. With that he stuck two middle fingers up at me and started screaming with all other guests looking shocked. But he didn’t stop there when my sister and myself were at the lift he was pointing at us and talking in Greek to the reception and looking at us. Then he came over to us and said ‘you two girls just want all my attention and I’m not giving it to you’ and started laughing. By this he meant we wanted him as he was good looking. This was again in front of a male guest who had just arrive and he did hear it and looked extremely shocked as did we. I am not going to put his name on here but I believe he was a local Greek waiter, middle aged, overweight with a large tummy, balding and not clean shaved. We definitely did not want any attention from him 🤢. He had been rude to a number of other guests aswell. We did complain and they said they will investigate but I doubt they will as they said he is one of their best staff 😳
Also adult only hotel? There have been children staying here this week from age 11 up. When I asked management why children were here when it’s adult only they gaslighted me and said there wasn’t any. I reported this to jet2 who confirmed they admitted there was children staying at the hotel that week.
The rooms have very low hygiene levels. Our room had a leaking toilet so we were walking through toilet water 🤢 and the air con leaked aswell. There was mould growing in our bathroom and coming out our air con unit and starting to spread up the bedroom wall. I felt ill while I stayed and I wonder if the mould contributed (pictures attached). We told them 4 times but it didn’t get resolved. The swim up pool looks a funny colour and i wouldn’t personally go in it.The hotel needs a good deep clean. I even found myself trying to wipe the brown stains off the white sun loungers in the pool before I thought what on earth am I doing 🤦♀️ Also be warned if you upgrade to a room with a swim up pool or hot tub you are overlooked by everyone and you will have no privacy.
Management is all over the place and they need to get their act together and stop rolling their eyes and putting the blame on their guests when their is something wrong at the hotel. Very unprofessional.
Had a good stay overall. The hotel has a big, well-kept territory, which was really nice to walk around. The room price was great, though the window didn’t open and it faced the reception, so it could get a bit noisy. The water park was smaller and quite packed, but still fun. Food was decent and matched the 4-star level. Good value for the money!
I Catherine Charlesworth went to this hotel and like many other were appalled at the food. It was not edible at all. I left after 2 days having booked 14 days all inclusive and they refuse to give me a refund. I spent £ 1671 on 2 days! They treat elderly citizens so badly. I'm 82 and learned a very important lesson: all tha5 glitters is not gold!
I stayed at Leonardo Cypria Maris in Paphos from 21st January to 14th February 2024 and the food was very poor!
I'm lactose and gluten intolerant with IBS and Acid Reflux disease so food is difficult. I flagged this with Mercury holiday the day after I arrived because I was struggling to find food and there wasn't a lot of labels.
Mercury referred me to the rep in Cypus and to simplify the issue I asked for a smoothie for breakfast. The hotel agreed to make the smoothie but wanted me to pay for it even though it was in place of breakfast. I had booked an all-inclusive package but downgraded to half board after I had a meeting with Christiana from guest relations and Sotoris the catering manager.
They had team nights in the restaurant so agreed to do meals for me when they thought I would struggle but it didn't make alot of difference.
On Greek and Cypruiot night the food was much better but often too salty to be eaten!!
When I returned to the UK I contacted Mercury Holidays to get my refund for the downgrade from all inclusive to half board and they said Cypria Maris claimed I hadn't downgraded but accepted the smoothie and 4 meals per week in place of all inclusive!
I didn't drink and had no snacks so why would I accept 4 meals per week and smoothie as all inclusive!!
Mercury had emails confirming that downgrade which was agreed by Clare from the Nicosia office but deleted them so I had to raise a dispute with my credit in order to get a refund.
If you are a food lover and have any food intolerance or allergies you should avoid this hotel!
The location was okay and the entertainment from Monday to Friday was good, especially Chris Andre but there was nothing else positive about this hotel..
Oh my God. Katarina, mateo, chrystalla, sabina and rebecca made our holidays! Super friendly and polite and VERY knowledgeable of drinks and locality.
Honestly the best bartenders ibe ever had the pleasure to be around. I would recommend 1000% .
They will show yiu a good time .
Thank you so much!!!!!
Arrived at the hotel with my family on 28th of April where we spent 7 days. The hospatiiity was great, cleanliness of the hotel was 10/10. Very lovely experience in total.
We went to Leonardo Maris in March 2022. It was very clean and the room was very spacious. It is an excellent hotel where staff were very helpful and friendly, particularly in reception Helen and Nictaria the publication officer were brilliant, giving us tips about Cyprus and very friendly.
We are pure vegetarian and the Chefs were excellent and personally preparing all our delicious meals. In the restaurant Damitrice and Lucas the chefs and other staff Michael-supervisor, Silvia, Xpiztina, Fotala and the bar staff Alex were excellent in making us feel comfortable and ensuring our needs are met.
We would greatly recommend this hotel.😊
