Working for Language Line Solutions is modern slavery: very poor pay (often less than a minimum wage due to unpaid!!! waiting time), no supervision, lots of technical glitches and bad line, rude customers. They don't appreciate you at all - you're just a number. They'll totally exploit you with a high pressure and stressful phone calls for an absolute pittance! Shame on you Language Line!
call volume is insane and not trained interpreters work there
I'm a professional interpreter and I'am an outsourced interpreter, they didn't hire me directly but I have to follow all their protocols. We work for a company that is one of the outsourced languages, we are outside the US.
LLS says they have only professional interpreters, but this is not true, if I were one of their customers I'll be careful with this, because not professional interpreters are dealing with very difficult calls, sensitive content and specific vocabulary, they are not trained to do it.
I know for my experience that non of my colleagues were professional interpreters, the requirement to work with them was native language + English B2 only (intermediate level of English).
Back to back calls are insane, clients are rude, and customer agents are impolite. They have constant problems with their app and systems that don't allow you to work properly.
ridiculous wait times
Asked for hindi interpreter, was advised one is available. Advised my customer i would call back within 5-10 minutes and no interpreter was assigned to me. I gave up holding after 20 minutes and translator service was not able to be used. Had to call my customer back and attempt to advise that we cannot provide a service that we offer as language line had not provided interpreter as per their obligation. Very poor wait times

Extremely low pay and totally disorganized!
I'm an interpreter with more than 20 years experience, a MA and a certification and I was just offered $35/h for interpreting an exotic language!!! I wasn't making that little when I started my career! This is total disrespect. Plus for the past 3 years they keep sending me job requests and NEVER once got back with me after I replied!
I would never recommend such a company, horrible business practices, stay away!!!

The worst place to work
The worst place to work, they ask for you to do all kind of preparation and get all this equipment, they make you study and prepare for the job. You give all your best effort to be a great interpreter. In my experience my mentor told me I was meeting expectations as an interpreter and also in customer service and literally the next day I got terminated because of low call demand. So they don't care how good you work or how much effort you make to do an excellent job. And they don't need a reason to fire you. If they have to they will fire you no matter what. So just take the job to have the experience and the training not as a serious career because they simply do not care about employees. Is kind of messed up because they ask so much and we spend time, money and make sacrifices for literally nothing. So I hope AI takes their jobs. Cheers.

Terrible customer service. Service reps are extremely rude and have limited knowledge on how to navigate their own services. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

I worked for this company for a year, it is the worst company to work for. Unskilled management and very rude, focused on profit and they pay minimum to the interpreters
Poor Judgement
As a previous interpreter, I was bullied and abused both morally and financially. For low pay, I never refused any job. Despite that one malicious, stupid patient reported me without any explanation. Then I was suspended for no reason for no explanation after 10 years of service as an award winner. This kind of incompetent evil should pay the price
The way they handle their recruitment…
The way they handle their recruitment process says exactly who they are as a company, another low quality and low value chicken coop, that’s what their administration group is. People are no longer caring for undesirable places like this, if anything, it pushes them even more to find their real purpose in life and follow their dreams, these corporations are evil and will suck your soul and energy dry. Not worth it and I hope the downfall of these corporations happens at the speed of light, it’s already a fact that they will. The whole system is trash because of the people operating them.
Terrible service
Terrible service. Been trying to reach someone for MONTHS and they never reply to emails. I try to contact on the phone and they hang up when you ask anything they dont want to do. Like I asks for a list of costs by language. Hang up. Try again-oh we cant find your account. I have been with them 8 years. I expect better.

I was very disappointed, that after the language skills assessment no one was back in touch with me. I sent an email to the OPI recruiter and still not received a reply.
