The best veterinarian practice I’ve ever been to
Before I attended my appointment for my dog Quinn my veterinarian practice gave little answers, which left me really fearing for my dogs life. After meeting with Hannah and the student vet at Langford I could not be more confident that my dog was receiving the best possible diagnosis, that she was safe and they would do the best for her. I have seen many vets in the 8 years that I’ve owned my dog, I have never felt more comfortable. Hannah was amazing. I had so many questions and for over an hour we sat and talked through Quinn’s treatment path. You guys do not get the credit you deserve and I just wish I lived closer to have you see Quinn any time she is unwell. Some people may find the fees a little expensive but it’s worth it. I spend so much money at my regular practice to get no answer and in one afternoon I found out more than I ever did and spent at my practice. For those who may be worrying about your pets health I couldn’t recommend a better place to- diolch

Had a telemed consultation with a vet…
Had a telemed consultation with a vet at Langford Vets was told the price beforehand. For some reason I was expecting a video call so the vet could see my dog but it was just a normal call. The vet was great and gave me good advise on what to do and advised on a operation that would cost £4500. Was shocked that the 35min phone call cost £270. Saw my local vet who referred me to a local surgeon who did the same op for £1600 a blessing if you are not insured. Langford vets may be good but they are very very expensive
Very professional
Professional, sensitive and experienced service. Took our Ridgeback in over Easter bank holiday as he was going downhill. The results and prognosis were very poor but tests were extensive and the dog was loved throughout the process. It is easy to pick faults when the prognosis isn't great i.e. it's expensive (but maybe the running costs are high), why are they doing so many tests (maybe they want a fuller picture) etc. Good quality care isn't cheap, getting the right diagnosis often means having better equipment and larger overheads. It is a very difficult one but I feel our dog got the diagnosis that my vet hadn't managed to find not for lack of ability but probably lack of experience. On the whole though devastated by the prognosis I can atleast doing something now we know. I suspect the onus of responsibility is on us to make sure our animals are insured as highly as possible, I appreciate that isn't always easy to do and yes I think animal care across the board is prohibitive. What can you do I guess.
Took my westie to these 2 years ago
Took my westie to these 2 years ago
Insurance paid 5k
Was asked to pay £500 extra to have post x-rays
When I attended post x-rays consultation
Wasn't told there was a charge for follow up consultation of £180
So i refused to pay it
Was only aware of this when I received a bill in the post ,
They did an excellent job on my dogs cruciate ligament TPLO surgery
But more interested in Getting your money
They are by far the most expensive offering cruciate ligament surgery
I think Langford is owned by. Corporation which explains the high cost of treatment
Recommended if you have bottomless pockets quoted £5k again plus extras for her other leg
I did phone again to check how much it would be for her second leg as insurance only covers 1 cruciate ligament, the receptionist transferred me to finance to pay the £180 owed first which I was willing to do as my dog was in pain
(AND THEY REFUSED TO DO HER OPERATION)
Glad they did as I got it done with mooregroup in Basingstoke who were amazing £1500 cheaper
This company turned over £21 million last year
So tells you everything you need to now
If i could give more stars i would!!!

This vets is nothing less than amazing.
My XL Bully ruptured her cruciate ligament and we was referred to langford as she needed surgery.
I received a call from langfords the same day as she referral was put in and was given an appointment the next morning for her operation.
We met the vet alex who was so nice and explained everything to us and was so reassuring. I was super worried about the operation but after chatting with the vet i did feel more confident about leaving her.
The operation went well and we was kept upto date about her progress.
She was allowed home the next day. I was told i could call at anytime if i needed advice or thought something might be wrong. I did call several times and at all hours panicking about
my girl, i was never made to feel like a pain, i was always given great advice and reassured.
It was a massive help to me as it was an extremely difficult thing for me to cope with seeing her like that.
Another great thing is if your claiming though insurance is langfords will do a direct claim so you don't have to pay upfront.
All in all a fantastic vets, fantastic reception staff and i cant recommended them enough
Wonderful service …
I took Shadow here today for the first time. He has a mass & we don't yet know what the outcome will be, but the vet ( Francesco) was wonderful & the staff so helpful. I know he's in the best hands.

I wish I could give more than five stars.
My Lurcher was referred with a very nasty fracture, due to osteosarcoma.
I wasn’t at all prepared for this and my journey, as well as Berry’s, has been supported professionally, positively and compassionately.
Our treatment has been superb throughout.
Thanks are not enough to this superb team.

Langford vets looked after my dog very well. They were thorough in their assessment of him and answered all my questions. We now have treatment options going forwards.
Informative
Having been referred by our vets for specialist treatment for our dog we found Langford small animal hospital helpful, informative & considerate to our dog.
Fabulous knowledge and care
Myself & my dog were treated with utmost respect, care and compassion. I was fully informed of the operation, possible outcomes, care required and costs. The operation went very well and my dog is making an excellent recovery. I have been able to make contact if I’ve had any concerns
Welcoming and efficient!
It is a welcoming and comfortable space for people and their animals. We were well informed of the procedure our cat was to receive, and given detailed feedback after the procedure. The results were sent promptly to our own vet. Overall it was a good experience.
Amazing experience
Throughout the diagnosis, decision making and eventual surgery I felt listened to and enabled to make informed choices- and most importantly felt that Jack was getting the very best treatment.
Another journey for Horatio our Ocicat…
Another journey for Horatio our Ocicat with Diabetes. He was unresponsive and in distress so called Langford Practice and used the emergency contact. The hospital are always very professional and yet very friendly. Charges are always explained and you can rest assured Horatio was getting the very best of treatment and care. Kept informed over what was happening with Horatio and always called when they said they would. From receptionist to medical professionals, you are treated with care along with your pet. I have had much contact over the years with the Practice and the Hospital with my various pets. They are my one and only 'Go To...' for my pets.
Compassionate and professional, a refreshing change from corporates.
Easy to find and lovely location. Nice to avoid city centre travel. Very professional setup, check-in and appointment like clockwork. We were actually taken in early to our appointment. Whole team gave us a compassionate service and listened to what I wanted as an owner instead of snowballing me with costs first and standard procedure spiel. Very understanding about the need for my pet to have appropriate treatment for a better quality of life and comfort for whatever time is left. No extortionate 'package' deals thrown at me or extra tests sold, just a good consultation and plenty of information about various treatments' pros and cons.
Friendly gentle with dog and experienced
We can't praise highly enough the care…
We can't praise highly enough the care our cat received when he was referred to Langford SAH recently as an emergency.
We were not hopeful about the outcome but, whilst he is very poorly and the long-term prognosis is not good, Leo and his team at Langford managed to get him well enough to return home where we he can enjoy whatever time he has left in comfort. We are very grateful for the love and care shown to him by the whole team.
My Rottie baby girl
My Rottie baby girl, has undergone three of her four ops, both her front legs had elbow dysplasia, and both hips, total replacement. Her treatment still ongoing.
What seemed a daunting time, was eased into positivity, knowing there help for her. I cannot speak highly enough of Langford, the highly trained vets and staff, were there for her, the care pre and post op was incredable, my girl and each pet there had thier own quiet enclosure, the time taken to explain every step of her treatment showed care and compassion, and every question answered, and post op if any problem or question were to arrise day or night, it didn't matter there was vets and staff there to help. Thankyou!
Generally happy with all aspects of service
Communication is excellent as was the general care of our dog, who is recovering well. Langford Veterinary Hospital is far from cheap but in fairness veterinary care in general is expensive.
We thought their initial consultation fee was exceptionally high but in general we were pleased with the service they provided.

We have a cavasion dog called Bob who is 4 years old and we took him to Langford vets to see if they could discover why he had a particular issue with his throat.
I must say, I am new to having wonderful dogs in family life but very much enjoy it, now I know how much love they ‘give out ‘ unconditionally. when i went to a Langford vets i was met with the same compassion and understanding of what our pets mean to us. Professional, caring , helpful kind human beings from the receptionist to the registrar to the night time cover to collect our dog to take home.
I can’t speak more highly of your service from beginning to end. You make some sad times that little bit easier for all. Thank you.
