I bought 7 balls of yarn for a very good price. They emailed me within a day saying they didn't have one of the colors i requested and they were shipping the rest of the order without it. I wanted that specific color and emailed them asking if they could send it when it was back in stock without having to pay for shipping. They emailed back within a few days saying they had it back in stock and had already shipped it to me, taking care of the shipping cost themself, which was greatly appreciated
A terrible customer service experience.
I tried contacting customer service to help figure out a plan for my knitting needles,as when I got them, I was told they were under a lifetime warranty. I have no proof purchase of when I got them, so I am unsure if it is under the now one year warranty. I contacted customer support and got a rude, more expensive option of how to fix my needles that were chipping and snagging on my expensive yarn. I should "purchase varnish and a mid-wax" for a singular needle. Kara Lycan, the seemingly irritated customer service representative was so unhelpful and I will never by from knit picks again.

The customer service was wonderful in resolving an order mix-up. The representative helped me pick new yarns, shipped them right away, and provided a return label. Truly quality service and quality yarns.

Done me well in the past and the prices are reasonable. On top of this which already is great I was able to get a bunch of ideas for futur knits. Will need to order some more for self gifts this christmas. Plus great community. Thanks a bunch! Also wanna get my daughter involved while we're cozy this winter fingers crossed.

I would give them no stars if I could. Since they have been acquired by the new company, their service is a disservice. Placed an order over a week ago, they still have yet to "process" the order. When I called, was on hold for over 15 minutes listening to music. Hung up, and sent an email. Days later, still no response to email, and the order still not processed. At this point, I want to cancel the order, but again, NO ONE answers the phone. On hold over 20 minutes this time. This will be my last with them, have had it with companies like this. Have ordered from them for years, then they sell out, next prices go up, service goes down as does products!
Won’t be ordering from Knit Picks again
I placed my order on September 22nd and it was supposed to be delivered on September 27th. On the 27th at 4:15pm I checked tracking because I still hadn’t received my order. Now it’s not coming says it’s not coming until October 2nd. I won’t be ordering from Knit Picks again. I should have checked the reviews before I ordered - I’m seeing a lot of negative reviews lately.

I’ve been purchasing from Knitpicks for years. This is a first. The tracking number they sent me never worked. Then Canada post went on strike so I kept watching their website to see if they changed the number. It was still incorrect so I emailed them 4 times about it. The reply was “why did it take so long to ask? We don’t have any stock left so we are refunding you”. Which would be acceptable other than the fact that my bill was $50.92 and the refund is for $33. Not very happy about their service e anymore.

I adore their platform for ease of shopping and putting together kits. Everything is high quality. However, everytime I order, it takes 2-3 days to even get a shipping label and a long time getting to me 1 state away.

Was added to a physical mailing list that I never signed up for. Customer service was very rude and unhelpful in unsubscribing.

PLEASE DO NOT SUPPORT THIS COMPANY. I am SHOCKED. There are so many good reviews so I decided to take the leap & placed a large order of 176$ on November 20th, payement went through all was good until:
November 29th I get a payement reversal of 176$ & no email from knitpicks, so I just assume my order was canceled for not having the yarn in stock or something so I spent the 176$ on lovecrafts instead that night.
December 4th I get 174$ taken out of my account from Knitpicks, my chequing account is now in the negatives owing -174$, I call knitpicks customer service and speak to BARBARA HENNINGS & it was the worst service I've EVER had in my life, she left me in tears. Very rude & unhelpful, she was laughing on the phone with someone else in the background, it was disgusting. I've never in my life dealt with such an evil condescending customer service representative in my life. She was claiming she doesn't see the payement reversal or them taking 174$ out, I even asked why it was 2$ less then what I had paid and she ignored me. She emailed me after the call saying she would send to specialist to investigate the payement problem, I sent her proof that it was taken out by knitpicks, literal screenshots from from chequing account, Barbara said it was CIBC (my bank) that took out the money without authorization & that I should call them to figure out why & that knitpicks would not refund me for the inconvenience which left me in the negatives, I called CIBC already knowing it was obviously not the bank's mistake & CIBC COMFIRMED this. The bank said what happened is Knitpicks charged me the wrong amount, then gave me a refund and tried days later charging me the right amount. I emailed Barabara letting her know & have been ignored since.
This company will not take accountability for their mistakes, they will actually pretend they don't see charges, I'm seriously shocked.
I also received my order with 7 balls of yarn missing (Barbara said she would fulfill the 7 missing balls but thats it, I even said I just wanted my money back since I took my business elsewhere cause they refunded me) She refused a refund even with proof of their mistake that caused me tremendous stress & This was the biggest headache I've had in a longtime & I am absolutely shocked with how terrible this customer service representative was. The yarn was alright but not worth this experience. Please warn your yarn friends. Nobody should have to experience this.
Bad experience.
I've used Knitpicks in the past and I've been very satisfied. However, I recently purchased yarn and pattern books in two separate orders from Knitpicks. It has been an awful experience. They made errors in the shipping of the first order, which cost me money and I think they forgot my second order. When I called and emailed, customer service didn't do what they said they would do. When I asked to speak to a supervisor I was told someone would call me back. No one did. I finally asked for the email address of the CEO but my request was ignored. This company needs customer response training. I'm very disappointed.
Customer Service is snarky!
The yarn is inexpensive, which is good for inexperienced knitters. Orders are slow In shipping and Customer Service Reps are Snarky. So, if you are not In a hurry and you don’t need any help with an order you are okay!
Mistakenly place an order on 4th…
Mistakenly place an order on 4th august, ask right after to cancel it, they answered my email 3 days after that they can't because it's already shipped. When I looked at the tracking it was shipped the same day they answered me.
Very Disappointed…
I'm very disappointed with how I received my recent order from Knit Picks. This order had a total of 20 items. At checkout, I selected "place yarn in a bag". The only yarn that was inside of a bag was the Rainbow Stroll Mini pack. All of the other yarns (13 in total) weren't placed inside of a bag. However, there was a clear plastic bag at the bottom of the box.
As a result of the yarn not actually being put inside of the enclosed bag, some of the yarns were a bit flattened from being packed so closely together. The box measured approximately 12" (L) x 9" (W) x 6"(H). There wasn't a sufficient amount of tape on the box because the flaps were slightly spaced apart; and the mailing label was placed on top to reinforce the tape -- which is indicative that the box was too small.
I have been purchasing yarn from Knit Picks for a long time; and, I've never received yarns in this condition. It didn't make me feel like I was a valued customer; and, $99.00 is very costly for such a poor presentation. I sent an e-mail and I still haven't received a response to date. I also called customer service to report this incident. I was told that "a note would be sent to the warehouse". There wasn't any other incentive offered to make the situation better. Clearly, customer satisfaction is not a priority at Knit Picks -- which is very unfortunate for me :-( ...

I have been using Knit Picks for years and they have never failed me! I love their needles and yarn. Oh and their accessories are awesome too. Their customer service is top notch as well. We lost an order in the mail (possibly my mistake) and they replaced it no questions asked. Never a disappointment!

It has been two months since I ordered…
It has been two months since I ordered from Knit Picks (order 2 September 2022) without receiving my order. I contacted them on 4 October and they re-sent order. Nearly another month gone by and still no delivery. DHL tracking showing both orders are 'somewhere' in transit. This is appalling service, especially with no meaningful oversight by Knit Picks or update on expected delivery date. I have ordered from them in the past and all has been OK, if slow, but this is unforgiveable. After I get my money back I will have to find a new, responsible, accountable supplier.
Unbelievably poor shipping
Unbelievably poor shipping. I am currently waiting for my product to arrive nearly 2 weeks after I purchased. When I called to complain I was told that I had to wait another week before anything could be done. I’m sorry if you can’t get my product here in two weeks there is a huge problem with your company. I will never order from here again no matter how nice the yarn might be if it ever shows up.

I ordered on Sept 2, they said they fulfilled the order on Sept 7, on Sept 8, the USPS was waiting for the package. This is Sept 15th, I have not received anything and the USPS says the package is still at the Ohio facility with no update. I contacted Knit Picks and spoke with Lori Tate who said she would refund my order because it was lost and that it would take 1-3 weeks for them to return my money. I ordered from here because of a YouTube channel I watch. I am looking for another yarn company if anyone has had good experiences from.
