I find the rates and their arrangement fee is high and the surveyors they use undervalue the property. Same property I bought 2 years ago through them has been valued 30k less now despite the rent has increased and property is in a pristine condition and now they are asking the difference to be paid and if not paid you are locked in their quite high variable rate . I think a more long term thinking company would like to keep the customers who have been paying mortgage installments without any break rather then having a shorter term mindset of maximising the profit but losing customers fast . I will look to change the provider as soon as I could.

Our broker provided full details of the property upfront — including photos and clear information that the commercial unit was a bar, with a kebab shop just two doors down. All of this was known before the application proceeded. Based on that, Keystone indicated they were happy to move forward with the remortgage.
We paid a £700 upfront fee in good faith.
However, after waiting around three weeks, their surveyor attended and flagged the exact same points that had already been disclosed from day one — the bar and nearby kebab shop. Shortly after, the application was declined without even providing a valuation.
To be clear, I have no issue with a lender declining a mortgage — that’s their right. The problem is taking money while already having all the information that would likely lead to a decline. This could (and should) have been identified at the outset, saving everyone time and cost.
This felt extremely unprofessional and, frankly, unfair. Taking upfront fees under these circumstances is not acceptable.
I would not recommend using them based on this experience.

From beginning to end the service has been amazing on every case, Mark Grogan an exceptional BDM, the customer service team, who are so polite and truly helpful when you call, the underwriting and case management team who support throughout the whole process. Even with tight deadlines, they will endeavour to achieve the clients requirements. At every stage, for such a large lender, every person involved goes above and beyond

I approached Mark Grogan with an extremely complex case that no other specialist lender would consider. A prompt acceptance was received and the application to offer was less than 2 weeks.
Mark was always on hand to provide any assistance required and a special mention to everyone working in the completions team at Keystone for going above and beyond to get this deal over the line.

Our client was contacted directly by Keystone to advise that his existing fixed rate product was coming to an end but as they only deal with brokers the client came to us.
This was the first product transfer that we have placed but the Keystone team talked us through the whole process from start to finish and were always on hand to answer queries.

I have the pleasure of recommending Keystone property finance for BTL mortgage transactions. When I had a 1-month delay in securing an amended mortgage due to changes from the solicitor and errors from my broker, Mark Deboo at Keystone stepped in and made sure all pending issues were resolved asap and the amended mortgage offers were out within a week, going as far as chasing the surveyors for the PVQs. I must say Mark Deboo is a huge asset to the Keystone team. Absolutely switched-on, brilliant individual!!!

There are many good points to Keystone. Broad criteria and can do many cases other lenders will not, very good BDM in Mark Grogan - but when it comes to processing and updates - this needs to be massively improved. Often confusing updates, which required many calls in for confirmation or clarity - or it just wasn't clear what was outstanding and caused delays. I also had two cases with the same client - but they weren't linked and requests overlapped.

Yet another case introduced by me to Keystone has just completed. There are numerous Lenders offering products in the Residential Investment Market but the reason I so often return to and recommend Keystone is that they are prepared to 'think outside the box' rather than just being 'box tickers'. They are easy to communicate with at all stages of an application and are always prepared to listen. If there is a hiccup on the journey to completion, Simon Jones (the Senior Business Manager for the South East Region) is quick to help and he is very happy to talk through an application before I start the time consuming task of uploading it; what more could a Broker ask for? Their products are competitive but, most importantly for me and my Clients, they get the Deal done.
