Jsyk's customer service in Hungary is incredibly bad!!!
I don't know if the poor, customer-unfriendly service is standard at Jysk in Hungary, or if this is a problem across all countries.
Now to the reason for my bad review. We needed mattresses. Jysk sells them... in theory.
We needed two firm mattresses. According to the description, the "Hulda" mattress should have met our requirements. Unfortunately, the nearest branch only had one "Hulda" left. I then looked for another branch. Lo and behold, another branch about 45 km away had two in stock. After reserving them, I was notified that the two mattresses were ready for pickup.
Okay, I jumped in the car and drove to the branch 45 km away. I went into the store and showed them the order email. After I paid, the lady politely told me that the pickup area was at the back and that I would have to drive around the building to collect my order.
No sooner said than done, I drove around the building and along the somewhat complicated, unmarked path to the warehouse. I ended up in a rather gloomy courtyard. Huge, overflowing ashtrays stood in front of the warehouse, which looked very uninviting.
The employee came to me, looked at the invoice, and disappeared... Well, not completely, but for about 25 minutes. That's not what you'd call ready-to-pick-up merchandise! Eventually, he returned with two boxes labeled as containing firm mattresses.
Okay, so I drove 45 km back home and quickly unpacked the mattresses to air them out. Then my partner came home and immediately asked about the mattresses. She came to me with a sour expression and said that the mattresses were "buttery soft." Great... I had relied on the order and the label on the box. It said "firm"... Now the mattresses were unpacked because I had trusted Jysk and the description on the box. I was pretty angry, considering I'd driven about 90 km to the more distant Jysk branch.
Okay, so I went to the closer branch and explained my problem. After about an hour of discussion with the manager, she agreed to take back the unpacked mattresses. But... she then insisted on deducting 10% of the purchase price!
I was furious! Let me reiterate the points:
1.) I ordered a firm mattress.
2.) Upon receiving it, I checked the information on the box; it seemed correct.
3.) Only after unpacking did I realize the product was wrong—instead of firm, it was as soft as butter! In the old days, this would have been called "horse trading," in modern times, fraud!
Sorry, but Jysk's customer service here is absolutely unacceptable! My partner and I will never order or buy anything from Jysk again, nor will we ever set foot in one of their stores.
After this experience with Jysk, I went to a local furniture store and found the mattresses I wanted there. The store was friendly and not at all arrogant, which is definitely not something I can say about the Jysk employees.
I would give Jysk in Hungary negative stars if I could! This purchase was a complete waste of money for me!
