Came for a Furry convention for a few years, excellent facilities and staff are friendly and always up for a laugh. Will hope to visit again in the off season. 10/10 Party central.

I've just returned from a short break at Widemouth Bay. The caravan was well equpped, clean and they even had the heating on so it was warm when I arrived. Staff were helpful and cheerful, which is always a bonus. This isn't the first time I#ve stopped on one of their sites and it won't be the last.

I used the John Fowler website to book 4nights from 09/10/2023 .
1. Selected accomodation required as disabled selected assistive accomodation
2.selected from parks offering assistive caravans choose Sandy Glade in Somerset
3. selected caravan from accomodation that was offered as suitable to my needs .
Arrived on site to find no parking by caravans told receptionist am disabled so may have trouble unloading car as have a loss of balance issue assured parking area close to caravan so will have no probs . So drove to parking area . Then problems began had to unload case in boot caravan had steps to door of caravan if that was bad van STUNK was filthy shower unuseable no rails or seat and too small had to buy a bowl and flannels to have wash , Had to wipe window to see out . Carpet was threadbare everything was dirty had to be cleaned before use curtains fell to floor when tried to close mind you nobody could see in windows filthy . Had to use own duvet covers so could sit on settees and buy new ones to use as ones supplied had marks and dog hairs on , dining chair legs so loose would have collapsed to floor if sat on , mould on walls n window edges , joining strips on wall panels hanging off , fridge filthy and full of mould lucky had electric 12/240v cool box with us oven unuseable just used gas rings . The caravan was not clean.
The main bedroom was discusting, we could not sleep in it.
There was a musty smell throughout the accommodation.
Overall the accommodation required updating, all the seating was stained & worn with age.
When we complained, we were told it was a sliver standard.
Apparently that makes hiring out dated caravans with very poor overall standard of accommodation acceptable to John Fowler Holidays.
We stayed in many holiday parks over the years, different parks, basic & bronze caravans.
Those accommodations were never of a poor standard.
We've never stayed in such poor accommodation as John Fowler, it ruined our holiday.

I have recently spent 10 magical days and nights at the St Ives Holiday village in late September.

My partner, out 2 children and I have now holidayed here 4 times in the last 4 years. My partner several times with the children begore we met.The varied accommodation styles are all basic but very functional and comfortable with cooking facilities, pots, pans etc to allow home cooking, dining tables and a couch or 2 to the lounge area. The showers are always generous in size compared to a lot of other, similar places I've stayed. The water takes a sec or to stop being cold but when it warms, it stays at temperature throughout. The beds are very comfortable and new sheets are readily available from the on site laundry who deliver new sheets every 7 days if you don't request them.

The team who were working the entertainment's, the bar and restaurant, the management team and the housekeeping team from the laundry were consistently happy and you could really feel that they wanted to help with any reasonable requests with enthusiasm. Absolutely great. The children enjoy the entertainment everyday. There are games for the kids to play and the entertainment team are very engaging and great with the children. Ours and all of the others who joined in all looked jolly and happy, everytime. Afterwards there's usually some bingo (a holiday classic) followed by some entertainment. We had 2 very good bands, a magician and some other acts. My partner and I are usually suitably entertained and enjoy our ourselves with the help of a bar with some good choice options but just not enough jagermeister for us Essex folk! The local beers on tap are well worth the buy. A good selection of some good beers. The bar staff are friendly, helpful and often laugh with you at the bar whilst providing a good level of service.

My partner and I love this holiday gem. The kids love it too. It feels almost like coming home, in a way. It's so comfortable and friendly and you realise that it slowly becomes a small part of you that you miss. It's set in some breathtaking woodland that's offers nice walks and you can often see some beautiful nature in the woodland and the in and around the stream. Very tranquil.

It is also fantastically located for day trips out to.many local wonders. Penzance is 20 minutes away or St Ives in about the same time. There are some fantastic places and beautiful beaches slightly further afield. St Micheals Mount is half hour or less away and Lands End 45 mins to an hour away.

It's just a magical, wonderful, tranquil hideaway that is also within small distance of many interesting local things, including some fantastic restaurants if you don't like it too quiet.

My visit to St Ives John Fowler but didn’t feel it was up to scratch. We stayed in a silver lodge (pet friendly) so say no more. The first problem was the fridge the ice compartment front was missing and therefore totally full of ice and unusable. The door of the fridge itself was difficult to open as it has to be pulled apart with your fingers to open. At the main sliding glass doors there was no blinds or curtains which meant we were very visible to the neighbours who also felt overlooked by us The whole lodge was tired ie toilet seat hanging off. Really needs revamp. Reported fridge and blinds and reception to notes and said maintenance would go round. They never did. Obviously the next people staying will have the same issues. It is a shame because the park grounds are well looked after

When we arrived at combe martin we where allocated a chalet on entering which was not fit for purpose dirty cutlery furniture and walls and rent a kill
mouse traps left in bottom of kitchen cuboards also microwave rusty had to spend night in a travelodge heard from john fowler head office no refund so posted letter to sun holidays hoping for reply still no reply from sun holidays fingers crossed

This holiday at Combe Martin Beach was the worst holiday we have ever had, but what makes it worse is the fact it was a John Fowler holiday which are usually first class, on arrival we found out there was no vehicular access to the the caravan, we were told at reception we could park near to unload, whilst doing so we were told to move by a very arrogant young man, I then had to park my car at the reception area, as I have arthritis this became a daily struggle to access my vehicle.
On entering the caravan we found it was shabby and the cutlery etc still had dried food on them, we had to wash everything before use, the shower was falling to pieces, the blinds fell down when trying to operate them, and the caravan was supposed to be platinum plus, it would struggle to be in the bronze category, all in all I think John Fowler should have good shake up on this site, to bring it in line with their other excellent sites.
I CERTAINLY WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS SITE.

Have just returned after 5 days of a 7 day booking. Caravan was filthy, park was totally disabled unfriendly, starting with the path to get to reception to check in! Caravan was under equipped, although we had a choice of 3 frying pans, 2 burnt to hell and the third ok once we managed to screw the handle on properly! Certain staff rude, obnoxious and unhelpful. Cupboards appeared to be filled with someone elses stuff. Just couldn't stick it any longer. Will not be visiting a John Fowler park again.

Our holiday location was Sandy Glades C68.
We had a short break booked which was from the 4th of September to the 8th, the accommodation is vacated from 10 o'clock till 5 o'clock to prepare for the next client. So why did it smell like a public urinal , nats all over the ceiling, the cooker not in a condition to even think about using. The double bed was also a place of torture, all the furniture was really only fit for the dump. The bathroom was in a terrible state and could not of ever seen any bleach.
People pay good money and expect to see a standard fit for purpose and don't expect to have to spent they time complaining about something that should be fit for purpose in the first place.
We returned home after 1 night totally disgusted and disappointed .

Never again.Widemouth Holiday Park This is the worst place i ever been.No iternet signal,no mobile phone signal,no parking,For whole duration of our stay we havent use the swimming pool as its broken or full,staff not accomodating,Television signal is breaking.

Sandaway beach ,north devon ,have holidays here for the last 4 years,its a clean park , very beautiful scenery especially if you get a sea view thats why i keep going back ,all that work there are helpful,especially the young girl who works in the shop on site and does the house keeping,and a lovely woman who I think is in charge of the house keeping of
the caravans,both very helpful,friendly and an asset to the park,that's why I gave it 4 stars.On the down side it was advertised as platinum plus caravan with sea views,mp3 player and blue tooth speakers,which I paid over 2000 for for 2 weeks what I got was a very tired caravan with no mp3 player,no working blue tooth,could of got sea view with a standard caravan,its was like opening a can of beans and finding it empty,I have booked another holiday this year for 2 weeks in a gold caravan let's hope I have better luck with this one as the park is a lovely place to be in

when we arrived, we were told that the previous people had left a window open and they were drying it out and would have to wait about an hour but they would phone us when ready, I received a phonecall saying that the boiler was not working and they would give us another caravan.
The caravan we were given felt dated and worn, so went to reception to let them know, was greeted by a sesoned lady who had answers for everything (clearly this was a normal occurence) list of problems, mould on cushions, 3 window blinds were broken or wooden blinds missing) door net curtain ripped, one of the single bed legs broken, wooden dining chair needs clueing, 4 inch rip in settee cushion and blood on one of the duvets (which the lady said throw it away and go to the laundry building tomorrow and they will give us a new one) I also asked where the thermostat was for the heating as we could not turn it on, she replied you just turn on radiators at wall, I tried this but still not working. maybe if we had of got the right caravan instead of a last minute repacement everything would have been ok (you do not expect this after paying £1,200 pounds for a week.
The rest of the caravan park ie shop, clubhouse ect was good but customer service help was non existent

We’ve stayed here 4 years running at a friends holiday home. It’s convenient for us due to money constraints but my boys love it. The only thing i can say negatively is they need some investment… nothing has changed! The crazy golf is worn, the ball ends up along the edge of the wall no matter what you do… it evens has slanted and sunk. There is no pedal bikes for the kids to get around the site. The pool is only a 45 minute session with no slides or activities allowed. There is no phone reception at all anywhere on site, you have to go to the club house to join the WiFi. They have a laundrette but only 3 of the 5 machines working. Some positives though… night time entertainment is good, food in the club house is good although they run out of food quite often. Literally 5 minute walk from Black Rock beach, 5-8 minutes drive from SummerLeaze Beach and the site is pet friendly. Site visited was Widemouth Bay

We stayed at sandaway beach holiday park.

Absolutely shocking not allowed to check in before 4pm. And have to pack and be out by 10am. Which is extremely Chaotic when you have multiple children. When we got the keys we was greeted by what look to be knives marks which made us look closer at the conditions of things. The Furniture was all Peeling away, cutlery had food still on it, the dishwasher pissed out water (yes door was shut properly) there was no loo roll not even one as most travelled for hours. The beds are ridiculously small as are the rooms and door way's. The manager is moody as anything and Absolutely no reasoning with her. She has absolutely no logical to her brain we asked if we could stay another two night she wanted us to pay 250 for 3 nights when when the weather was going to be pissing down ( we meet five other 5 family we all agree for 2 nights) yet this manager was not moving so she would rather let caravans sit empty and get absolutely nothing rather than rent for half the price to 5 family🤦‍♀️.

On a positive, the views are amazing. Some of the staff are really great like the life gruad and bar man they go out there way to put smiles on ya face.

Went on holiday to sandy glade for the Frist 2 night I had no sleep at all due to a football lot being next to us and having people over till 3 or 4 in the morning. Entertainment was poor my granson loved foxy club but there was not a lot to do for them. Bed not very comfortable and a bit damp shower needs replacing and heater as all dirty and rust all over them and we paid 500 for a gold caravan and it was not worth it swimming pool
was maned but they was not really watching what was going on we left 3 day early to come home as couldn't stand it any more have been going to John fowler's for about 20 odd years with my kids but it has changed so much and not in a good way

General Manager lead her staff well, all very warm and welcoming, although not in St Ives, accommodation was clean and had everything we needed, food was limited, facilitates on park catered for all
