Very Rude Staff In Brighton!

I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction concerning a recent experience at your store which I found distressing and unacceptable.

While shopping, I briefly placed my basket next to me, at which point a staff member requested that I carry it due to h&s reasons of shop.But they didn't care about my health at all or asked if i can manage to carry my basket at all times with me in my hand. I had to leave my basket on floor and rest due to health reasons. Anyway, I responded politely, intending to comply, and continued my shopping. Shortly afterwards, in another aisle, I set my basket on the floor again, I had to due to health reasons while selecting items. A different staff member approached me, telling me to pick up my basket without any courtesy or explanation. I felt I was being followed and directly questioned the staff about this.Were they following me, the staff member then called me rude, which I found offensive and unjustifiedand started to question him and told him how dare he was communicating that way, I believe it was inappropriate and unprofessional for staff to address me in this manner. I than had a discussion with another woman and a man,EVEN she crosses the limit and I was asked to leave the store as she listened the guy and believed him that I was rude but i was not at all. Because i questioned him, he didn't like it.

This incident highlights a significant lack of staff awareness around disabilities—particularly those not immediately visible—and proper communication with customers. The situation could have been managed with much greater politeness and understanding. I strongly urge your management to provide comprehensive training for your staff on engaging with disabled and even normal customers and ensuring all patrons are treated with respect and dignity at all times.Your customer guy put his ego first not the customer.. I for sure NOT doing my shopping again amd do not recommend anyone to spend their precious money.

I was never offered any help about basket, only afterwards the other rude woman who asked me to leave which was too much as i wasnt a thief or criminal, mentioned the use of pushable baskets, it should have been offered at the first place when i was asked, they think h n s of their shop and other customers but they did nothing to help me about the basket rather than telling me to carry aeound all the time when i was not able too and being real rude, blame full.. SHAME ON YOU INFINITY FOODS.

It was my first time visiting this store and I was really saddened and shocked by the way one of the cashiers treated a young family with their grandparents.

The children had a mix up with some items in a bag, the cashier made a sarcastic comment and scoffed at them and said “it’s not a pick and mix!” But was tutting, rude and showed no empathy or resolve to the family - even after they offered to separate the items out to pay. The children were clearly uneasy and even then the cashier raised his eyebrows at this. The family separated the items and paid, only for the cashier to sarcastically say “just so you know, you saved 30p!” It was quite humiliating for the children and grandparent in question.

I heard the cashier say that his name is George - although again this was said while gutting and scoffing and I’m unclear as to whether this is truly his name. The family member then said they’d be looking to put in a complaint to which he started laughed and said “I am one of the owners, so good luck with that!!”

In the end I put down the items I was looking to buy and left after the family, I spoke with them outside, one of the children had gotten visibly upset. I would never support a business that treats its customers like this. I have urged the family to make a formal complaint and have offered my assistance with this.

Very sad.

I have shopped with infinity Wholefoods for almost 15 years and am always impressed with their community focus in store, quality and efficiency online and within the wholesale side of things. It's hard being a co-op and keeping your ethics but this company always does that. Great staff in store and warehouse - I have made wonderful friends and connection as a result of this company. Thanks for caring Infinity crew!

Today I witnessed a disgusting display of racist micro aggression from an old woman working behind the till, I was queuing to pay for my items and watched as she complained to the customer who was wearing a sari and with her child because she did not label the vegetables she had put into brown paper bags, the woman seemed confused seeing as the employee was doing it on the till, she then emphasised it “just makes it easier for me if you do it, I don’t want to have to rummage through your bags”, the customer also asked for a till receipt, quite clearly and loudly pronounced and in English, the employee asked her to repeat 4 times and then lectured her about the correct word for a till receipt, a word I’d not even heard of myself and I’ve spent a lot of time behind a till, I believe the employee acted very patronising to the customer based on her appearance.
And to top off her impeccable display of customer service, when I approached the till and placed my items down on the counter and said hello, she completely ignored me and turned her head to start having a conversation with the woman behind me in the queue, which encouraged that woman to approach me even more and place her items onto the counter almost on top of mine, I found this incredibly rude and intimidating, I tried to communicate my discomfort and my disapproval of her customer service only to be met with both of the woman, customer and employee hurling insults at me, telling me I belong in prison “like the rest of them”, I was insulted beyond belief by their lack of understanding and recognition of there poor actions. After they shouted insults at me multiple times, whilst I’m still trying to pay for my items, I shouted back to them the same way they were to me, difference being I am a large man with quite a large voice. The other employees then crowded me and invaded my personal space with a great amount of intimidation failing to take any time to understand the situation, I was immediately labelled as aggressive and violent, upon asking for a description of this supposed intimidation and violence they failed to give me a valid explanation, they simply labeled me as that because of my biology, 2 displays of prejudice discrimination from a store that employs the new age type that so proudly advocates against such behaviour. I tried to discuss the altercation with the employees as there is apparently no manager, they all do it together I was told, they took no consideration for how I was insulted and treated unfairly, and couldn’t care less about my thoughts on her racist approach to the other customer. I have been a regular customer of this store and I wanted to be sure I can still shop there, I’ve been told that is not possible, when asking for a reason, they could not provide a valid and justified reason, they simply did not want to take any accountability for the actions of this old woman they employed.

Love these guys. Impeccable service and product depth.

I have been part of ordering groups (non commercial, with parents and friends) for years with Infinity and they are fantastic. A great range of health food and wholefood products and always super friendly and flexible.
If order is big enough its been delivered, or for smaller orders I have collected from their warehouse in Shoreham, which is always a pleasant experience.
The shop in Brighton is also amazing, with new products in all the time.

Great range of products and fast reliable delivery service. Friendly bunch too. Our company have used them for several years.
