PRIORITY II - GUEST CHAIR CONFERENCE CHAIR BLACK
Needing a folding office chair, I found this chair and decided to go for it. However I am very disappointed with the build quality and assembly of the chair.
The instructions are poor, no written details and the photos are difficult to follow. Screwing the seat base, arms and back was difficult as the holes for the screws do not line up. Even now we can't screw the arm rests securely.
Although comfy enough to sit on, with hindsight I would not have bought this particular model.

The chair I ordered is fantastic and better than I imagined. Great product and great customer service!!

I exceeded my budget recently, to buy a chair with weight-activated castors, as my current one is not safe for my disability. This was the main criteria and, as advertised by HJH on their UK website I chose to buy from them for this reason.

Despite this, ITS OWN INSTRUCTIONS state that the castors supplied are not suitable for hard floors, but for 'carpet only' and no mention of the safety castor.

When I contacted the Company to ask for the castors they advertised I received this dismissive response.

'thank you for your e-mail.
I can confirm you that the chair you bought was correctly delivered with "multi-purpose castors" as stated on our website. The phrase you have on the assembly instructions is infortunately [sic] a standard phrase. We are working on let it be cancelled as like in this case it can cause some confusions.

It goes without saying that this 'standard phrase' excuse cuts no ice with a disabled person who has just spent £185 on a 'safe' chair, with 'weight activated castors' only to receive one without.
(Photographs of which were even supplied to the Customer Service Manager!) for them to simply ignore!

EDIT: Customer service eventually supplied the castors advertised free of charge, but not without a total of 5 email and photos to 'prove' my chair did not have them. It really shouldn't be this difficult.

I ordered a chair, needed to cancel. Refused to cancel the delivery. Told me the only way to cancel now was to refuse delivery, they then delivered to my neighbour so I couldn’t refuse. And not have ignored all my emails to arrange for someone to come and collect the chair and send me a full refund.

Exceptional bad customer service. I recently bought some products from hjh to my homeoffice. I accidentally put in my company name in one of the boxes for info. Since I am a sole proprietor and alone in my small business and are use to make purchases to my company. Only because the option was given. I however put in my home adress and didn’t give the my VAT number. Which should be enough to show that the buy was made as a private person. I also made it clear to customer service that the company name shouldn’t be there because it is a private buy. They not only choose to not listen to what I had to say and give me the benefit of a doubt; anyone can make a mistake. But also found it so hilarious that I did so that the girl on the phone straight out laughed at me and said that, well mistake is in you, now you have to pay for the freight back to refund yourself. I got so mad about their treatment that I can’t even begin to explain. I live in Sweden and if I want my money back for the return I have to pay for the freight to Germany for something that I bought for 489 SEK. It is outrageous and no where near right. Especially since other companies like HJH always give the customer an option on beforehand (before the buy) if one is there on their site as a private person or in a business. So there is no doubt.

Don’t buy anything from this company especially if you don’t live in Germany and easily can return products. It’s simple not worth to deal with their customer service.

I ordered the PRADO Leather - Luxury Executive Chair in Black. Quality is absolutely superb and delivery was quicker than I expected (ordered late Monday evening, arrived in UK Saturday morning). Highly recommended product and supplier.

Very quick service, item seems exactly as described. The seat is firm but comfortable. Easy to assemble in just a few minutes. Take care not to mark the arm rests against the desk.

Chair arrived in less than a week. Very well made quality chair for the price and fairly easy to assemble with the simple instructions provided. Customer support very friendly and helpful too!

The products is okay but the customer service is really poor. It is a real hussle to return things despite what they say on their website. Not worth all problems and better buy items elsewhere.

Update: despite HJH polite answer, my opinion has changed from poor customer service to terrible customer service. This after my phone call with them last week.

Poor quality "premium" chair...

Spent £300 on what is advertised as a "premium" office chair.

Some screws did not fit into the relevant threads, one of the armrests was not adjustable and faulty. The provided manual is forgettable (and useless without a good magnifying glass).

Overall feel of the Venus "premium" office chair is cheap and nasty.

Update 26/07: 2 emails sent to service at HJH-Office were never replied to...

High quality Profondo chair arrived in the UK from Germany within 3 days

Build quality of chairs not as advertised. Castors don’t fit. Poor instructions that need a magnifying glass. Service staff that send removal video whem you are asking for installation instructions. Weird.

The office chair was uncomfortable and so I needed to return for a refund (within 2 days of receipt) . Despite being listed as .co.uk they are Germany based and because I purchased through my company we were expected to dismantle, repack and return at our cost. Returning a fully assembled chair to Germany is more expensive than the value of the chair so it shall be gathering dust until I can dispose of it somehow. I am sure if you are a not a business then they are fine but I would avoid if buying for a small business or home office via your company.

I ordered an office chair saranto camel brown on Monday & I recieved today Friday. Excellent service & super fast delivery. The chair is beautiful really pleased with the quality & style of it. I would definately use HJH again. Delivery was via dpd so I was able to see clearly where it was & when it reached uk.

Purchased a chair from HJH about 9 months ago, there was an issue with it after 8 months and the support persons were very helpful in resolving the issue with repalcements parts. Great company to deal with.

I cannot recommend ordering at HJH-Chairs. On their site they tell you that an item is ready to be delivered and when you order it they change it to 2 months. The customer service takes 3 days to react to to your emails. Don't know why furniture manufacturers believe we live a communist planned economy. What a joke.

Exceptional service. Very friendly helpline. Love the chair, has all hallmarks of German engineering. It arrived in the UK in no time at all (3 days), other UK suppliers had little or no stock.

I ordered a VENUS BASE - HIGH END OFFICE BLACK just based on the information on the website, buying a chair by just looking at it online is scary :P.
The chair turned to be excellent as well as the service I received from the company so far.
