Erroneous charge!
I writing because of my utter disappointment with Hertz and the Tamarac location in particular. I want to give you the whole story so please bare with me.
I booked a large SUV about a month in advance for a pick up at 9am on June 17th. At about 8:30am I received a call that my vehicle was not on site and was being driven down from Boca. I was not able to get my rental until 10:20am. So because of this problem I was already over an hour behind my schedule. I was driving to Tallahassee to move my son into his dorm and then we needed to immediately leave to drive to North Carolina for Track and Field Nationals.
When I got into the car and drove off I noticed the car was below half tank full and wasn't very clean. I decided to call as I was driving off to let them know the car was not clean and had not been filled up with gas. I was going to go back but since I was already 1.5 hours I couldn't waste more time. I called three times and the phone just kept ringing out! Mind you this is less than five minutes after I drove off. I have the call log on my phone to prove I did try and call.
Fast forward to later that evening. My wife happens to open the glove compartment box and finds two used women's breast pasty things!!!! Needless to say we just closed the glove and didn't open it again! That was disgusting and unacceptable! It also confirms this car was never cleaned before I received it!
We got through our hectic trip and I cleaned the car and returned it Wednesday morning. i walked in and the girl just took the keys and said she would send me a receipt. She never looked at the car or anything. I typically expect the employee to inspect with the renter. That was a first.
But then the bill comes later that day with a charge for "outside cleaning" for $75!!!!!! Please help me understand this charge? I what world are we living right now where this could even be possible? You give me a dirty car with women's pasties with less than a half a tank of gas, 1.5 hours late and turn around and charge me for a cleaning?????????
I've probably rented over a 100 cars through work or personal and have never seen this in my life!
I sent this exact email to Aaron the branch manager last Thursday but still haven't received an email response.
