We stayed in Fisherbeck Cottage which Herdwick Cottages manage. The booking progress was excellent with quick confirmation. We had a phone call the day before going in case we had any questions (The pre travel information emailed was excellent so we didn't!)
We had one issue whilst staying that was quickly resolved with an email to Herdwick (Thanks Adam and Lola!) I'd recommend them if you are seeking a cottage in the Lake District.

We booked a cottage near the Lake District for 12 people over a bank holiday and paid the deposit. This was arranged 11 months in advance. Four months later, we were contacted and informed that the owners had accepted a private offer, and our booking was cancelled.

Although our deposit was refunded, no alternative accommodation was offered, despite us having a valid booking contract. Since then, we’ve been unable to find anything within our budget, and our holiday has been completely ruined as a result.

This has been a very disappointing and unprofessional experience.

We stayed in wood field lodge Hardwick Cottage’s. The owners Sarah and Shaun were lovely accommodating all our needs . We have a border terrier puppy and the cottage had know gates but the owner fetched some fences to block the property off the road and give us peace of mind when our puppy was in the garden . They fetched us logs for the fire . We had a lovely time the property is immaculate clean and spacious. The bathroom his out of this world roll top bath shower under floor heating cant praise this property enough.

We stayed at lakeland glamping, herdsman Hut in Underbarrow lovely quit area on an active farm the host were very nice and left us to it. We booked it through herdwick cottage and Maria was incredible helpful with the whole process would definitely recommend using them

Beautiful Cottage which was perfectly situated for a family wedding. The surrounding area is stunning and although we didn't get to explore it, we would definitely book the cottage again to use as our base. Would highly recommend it as it was clean, comfortable and had a well stocked kitchen with all the appliances nyou would need. There is a large fridge freezer that you can use for your supplies. Nearest supermarket is about half an hour's drive in Penrith but the is a little convenience store 5 mins down the road in Glenridding for the essentials.i would advise to book in advance any local pubs/restaurants as they are very popular. All in all a great place to stay. Would highly recommend.
