I’ve lived most of my adult life in hard water areas (London, South Somerset) so imagine the joy of discovering a small device that might free me from the drudgery of hours of elbow grease, and the expense of gallons of limescale remover. Within a week of our Halcyan being fitted, there are no more threatened encrustations in any part of the bathrooms or kitchen. I imagine residual hidden ones in inaccessible places will also gradually dissolve, and our house plants will be eternally grateful.

Trying to avoid the fundamental problem for financial and PR problems is not the solution.
At the time of the post-sales of the replacement of the first coil, a few weeks into using your water conditioner, I contacted you and sent some pictures of the limescale build-up. You skipped the situation, saying that "it is only accumulation of minerals that can easily be clean. It was a natural occurrence due to the mineral in the water."
Since then, we started a picture and video dairy as we advised at the moment would happen from that moment. We will continue our record-keeping of the situation and follow our legal advice regarding what to do with the material. Before purchasing your product, as I mentioned at the consultation stage, the investment in the upgrading project was a consideration, including plumbing, appliances heating systems.
We are not engaging in a "message war" with you. We can see you are very good at it!
Instead, we want to be honest, as any customer will be when a product has been purchased based on misled information.

Living in Oxon with super hard water, I am still thrilled every day that I can merely wipe the water marks rather than scrub until my elbows and hands ache plus I will not have to buy limescale remover ever again. It truly is awesome and there are NO ONGOING COSTS unlike most other water conditioners - what you pay for the unit is all there is to pay (that and getting it installed). The customer service has been amazing. The team are very knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommend to everyone. Plus they gave me a discount as I am a Blue Light Card holder.

We purchased a halcyan filter on the recommendation of our builders, during renovation works. Living in a hard water area, we were initially sceptical whether a short segment of piping could really perform as well as a water softener unit. It only took a few weeks of using it to show how wrong we were! There was noticeable less line scale buildup on our kettle, and when running a bath for the kids we needed far less solution to get a good amount of bubbles. One surprising effect was how much it improved my dry skin - overall we were so impressed with the product quality that we are using the same system when we finish renovating our new house!

We bought a Halcyan water condition for our house which has been refurbished with new pipes and water system. The plumber installed it about 8 months ago and we have been in the house for about 4 months. We are extremely pleased with the product which has stopped the build-up of limescale throughout the house. We are particularly happy as we have black taps which are ruined by limescale. The company was honest with the powder that is formed instead of limescale, and as promised this simply wipes away.
The customer service was great with knowledgeable and helpful advisors. The product was delivered quickly. Our plumber had no problem fitting it into the pipe system.
Fully recommend the system for improving the problem of limescale in the house.

I have written a negative feedback and the company never check with me and said their engineer has called me but can't reach me out. I have all email communication record to proof you did not commit to your failures. In terms of effort, I have paid extra 200 pounds to change my piles to fit your conditioners and keep record videos and take photos to show the lime scale on my kettle through the year. But in my email record, your team has only let me know he has forwarded the information to the engineer for checking and that's all. I am happy to share all my email communication if necessary.

If you are reading this, rest assured, you are in for a treat…. I first encountered Halcyan some 18 month ago whilst researching for a solution to hard water that was quickly ruining the pipes and water systems in our new home. I was hoping to find an alternative to a water softener, but so many of those alternatives seemed unable to do what I wanted. In the end, I found Halcyan and they answered all my questions and concerns. They explained the device they sell does not create soft water but does stop the limescale forming on showers, taps, in pipes etc. It was expensive, but far cheaper than a water softener. It also has no running costs or maintenance for 30 years! Deep breath… I bought it. Got it installed and within 2 days the showering experience felt different - I can’t describe it other than being wonderful. The scale CONTINUED to build up - BUT THAT IS NORMAL - as this device needs time to rebalance your water systems and then deal with existing limescale. I tell you this as so many people rush to judge this product but you need to install it and see what things are like 3-4 months later. By then your showers and taps etc will start to look better, and that process just gets better and better. We are now 9 months into having this device and despite us living in an area with extremely hard water we now have super-duper showers and taps etc that are all free of limescale. I rarely ever recommend products, but this is a game changer and has no running costs. I also need to add what wonderful people work at Halcyan - so it’s been a joy to find that what they told me at the outset has been proven to work and far exceed my expectations. And with soaring energy bills this device can SAVE MONEY! - as there are no running or maintenance costs, will last for years, and your immersion and hot water systems will run more efficiently as they will not be caked in limescale, thereby cutting your energy bills! - see it as an investment that also adds value to your home and your quality of life. The sensation in the shower alone makes it worth it. Give them a call. You won’t regret it.

Excellent customer service, really helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Water conditioner was easy to install and is doing it’s job fabulously, clean shower cubicle no more lime scale, job done.

The fact you instal this and forget it’s there, and it goes on going it’s job! Very simple and no ongoing maintenance whilst getting softer water

I did quite a bit of research before selecting this product. In my opinion it’s a better option than a traditional water softener because
1. Much smaller and easier to install taking up minimal cupboard space.
2. No requirement for maintenance and commissioning
3. No requirement for salts
4. Yes the capitol cost is slightly more than a water softener but given its lifespan with no further on costs it’s an absolute no brainer.

Notwithstanding the above the big question is does it work? We’ll I’ve had this fitted for about 6 months now following the installation of a new kitchen and 2 new wet rooms, all of which to date show no signs of scale buildup so yes so far so good.

The installation was really easy, even in a small space. The prevention of limescale buildup in a new bathroom is amazing! It does leave a fine limescale dust, but that just brushes away, as described on their website. We are still waiting to see a removal of existing limescale, but it hasn't been installed for much more than a month, and the historic limescale is extensive, so we're willing to give it time!

We had a Halcyan unit installed on our new build home in October 2021. We are in a hard water area and didn’t want a softener requiring salt and maintenance so opted for this over the other magnetic units on the market. So far it seems to be working as expected - yes we do get some white residue on the shower heads and kettle but nothing like the crusty scale we experienced in our last home and it cleans off easily. Water also tastes very good to drink especially if bottled and refrigerated so we are saving on water filters. It is quite expensive for what appears to be a simple length of pipe but if it continues to work as it is currently for several years then it’s good value.

Good taste and feel to the water. No tendency to sliminess like water softener. No problems with white deposits. Removing limescale in kettle and pipesas advertised.

Flaking scale in our 40 year old system blocked one of our taps, but now rectified.

The water conditioner will not get rid of 100% limescale, probably around 90%. What appears on taps and showers etc is easily wiped away, a bit like white dust. Water is not as soft and silky like softened water, but you can drink conditioned water from the tap. The installation was very straight forward by our local plumber, maybe 2 hours work.
The main benefit is once it installed there is no further cost, unlike a water softener, where you are forever filling salt blocks, ordering every few months and storing them somewhere.
Overall a great product after nearly 18 months of use, what will it be like in 30 years time?

Like another reviewer here I have had a similar experience and not in a good way. We bought a new build house 4 years ago and 31/2 years ago the builder installed a Halcyan water softener at a cost of around £700. I only drink hot water so I see the amount of limescale that we get.. Within the 12 months I emailed Halcyan and sent photos of large chunks of limescale from the kettle and around the kitchen sink. I received a comprehensive email explaining why this should be!!!! I was very confused with all the science. I still get lots of limescale. I’m forever wiping the shower heads down due to the limescale in their little holes. I hate to think what the inside of our appliances eg the boiler looks like. My builder also installed one in his newbuild house but is in the process of claiming back from Halcyan as he is not impressed either. Like a previous reviewer, I’m sure because of the time gone by we also would’ve lucked out. Halcyan give a 30 year guarantee!!! but what is that guarantee for as it doesn’t do what it says. I’m sorry Halcyan but unfortunately your product does not work and how do you justify the price tag. I wouldn’t waste your money on this product. Or maybe we have just had a faulty product??

Easy to install, doesn’t take up loads of room inside the cupboard and seems to be very effective in taking out the worst of the hard water deposits. The team were very helpful in advising on which unit would suit our property and understanding how it works.
We went for this system over a salt based softener due to having young children and I’ve been impressed in the 12+ months since it was installed.

Three years later and I have to admit the plumber was right; I am now buying a proper water softener. The pipes are all furred, the showers blocked and the washing machine needs flush through. I'm an engineer, why did I think this would work?

Living in a hard water area and not on mains drainage I looked hard and long at different water conditioners. I wisely choose the Halcyan water conditioner which I have now had for nearly 3 years. I can safely say this was a great investment as we have not suffered with any lime scale build up at all. The big bonus with the Halcyan is once it is fitted you just leave it alone. It conditions all the water in the whole house and you have no need of a hard tap for drinking or watering the garden because of the way it works. The second bonus is there are no ongoing costs for salt, no moving parts that need maintenance or excess use of water as it does need a cleaning cycle. So all round works out cheaper than salt based water softeners. 1st class product that will not let you down.

This system really works, and I like the fact that it's a fit-and-forget system that does not require any maintenance!

Amount of scale greatly reduced. Resulting in less replacements of fittings in my London properties. My sceptical plumber, who fitted 3 of the units (of the 5 I bought), researched the technology and has now become a convert and qualified installer!!
