Born in a car park in the heart of the West End, we replaced cars, bikes and vans with nightly resident DJs, neon lights and dancers. We reset the fitness industry. It was easy to say, there was no other fitness space like this. Exercise blended perfectly with pleasure. You could be anyone you wanted to be. Be any shape you happened to be. It was just pure freedom to play and train in a way never seen before. It was simply just, serious fun. Fast forward to now and we're home to the most unique and diverse classes in London. Olympic sized boxing rings, combat cages, world-class free weights sections, live DJs and larger-than-life personal trainers. Home to big hitters, heavy lifters, slick dancers, zen masters, first timers, seasoned sadists, movers + rule-breakers of every kind. #anythinggoes

Disgustingly Poor
Disgustingly poor - I have had ongoing back and forth conversations with GymBox for nearly a year. Disjointed communications from staff. I required my membership to be cancelled due to employment changes back in May 2025 and had provided proof.
They do not care - membership ended in January. Now claiming monies is owed and will refer to debt agency. Whole heartedly dispute this and will use all of the correct avenues to prove communications and dispute this.
There is a reason that this gym is rated 2 stars. I've never seen so many bad reviews for a gym group. For a business that focuses on health and wellbeing - pretty poor at understanding the needs of their customers and their actual wellbeing.
Don't sign up to gymbox unless you want warts
I genuinely don’t know how Gymbox still markets itself as a “premium” gym when the experience is closer to a badly managed student union with barbells. Every peak-time visit feels like a cattle market: the place is overcrowded to the point that you’re queuing for dumbbells, fighting for floor space, and trying not to get hit by someone else’s bar because everything is so badly laid out. The constant promos seem designed to ram more people through the door without investing a penny in making the space usable or comfortable for the members already paying full price.
The facilities are a joke for the money they charge. Showers with no hot water, broken or “under repair” machines that stay that way for weeks, saunas out of action for months with zero urgency to fix them – yet they’re more than happy to take full membership fees as if everything is in perfect condition. You pay a premium price and get a half-delivered product, and they don’t even pretend to offer meaningful compensation or a proper apology when key facilities are unavailable.
Customer service manages to be both invisible and hostile at the same time. Staff on-site range from uninterested to outright rude, and when you actually need help, they suddenly become experts in passing you around, stonewalling, or blaming “policy” for everything. The second you raise an issue, it’s like you’ve inconvenienced them by daring to expect basic standards at London’s supposedly “cool” gym.
Where Gymbox really reveals its true colours is with contracts and cancellations. The small-print obsession is unreal: inflexible long contracts, one‑month notice that only runs from the 1st, and a maze of app-based steps and forms just to stop them taking your money. People find themselves chased for months of fees for services they’re not using, threatened with debt collectors over disputed amounts, and told they should have “got it in writing” when staff give wrong information verbally. It feels less like a membership and more like a trap you only realise you’re in once it’s too late.
To top it off, the whole hypey, neon-lit “brand” falls apart the moment you look past the marketing. Classes are impossible to book unless you’re on the app at ridiculous o’clock, and the reality on the gym floor is far from the glossy image they push on social media. If they spent half as much effort on maintenance, member care, and fair policies as they do on pretending to be edgy and premium, they might have a decent product. As it stands, Gymbox is the perfect place if you want to overpay for stress, queues, broken kit and a customer service team that treats you like the problem for daring to complain.
Gym refused cancellation despite unemployment
Gym refused cancellation despite loss of employment due to financial pressures outside my control. They relied on a definition of redundancy not clearly stated in the contract and did not offer any flexibility despite a formal complaint. Disappointing handling.

Gymbox really just told me to cancel my membership due to me disputing the 11.11% !!! increase in membership fees without good reason or any sort of explanation. Customer service here is an absolute joke! I even said how I value my membership, and they’re basically like lol we don’t care, you can cancel cause they can’t be bothered to look into my query. Ridiculous!
Dont go
They keep increasing the membership price and the gym is getting worse. The instructors that host the classes are now angry, shouty and awful. Facilities are unclean. It went from being a lovely gym years ago to a terrible gym.
Avoid Gymbox.
Avoid Gymbox.
I have been overcharged for months due to their own error after they failed to correctly transfer my membership details and discount. Despite raising this multiple times, it has still not been properly addressed or explained.
Instead of resolving the issue, customer service has been rude, unprofessional, and dismissive, relying on generic responses about terms and conditions while completely ignoring the actual problem.
I have made repeated requests for help, asked for complaints to be raised, and left my contact details several times, yet no one has followed up.
On top of that, the gym itself does not justify the price. Cleanliness is a real issue, with dirty changing areas and showers, and ongoing maintenance problems.
Overall, this has been a very poor experience involving overcharging, lack of accountability, and unacceptable customer service. I would strongly advise others to think twice before signing up.
Poor Mangement
I would like to raise a concern about the management at Gym Box Westfield. The changing rooms were swapped during my visit today.
When I arrived at reception, I was not verbally informed that there had been a swap in the designated changing rooms. As a result, I attempted to enter the male changing room and was stopped by a cleaner, which was both confusing and inconvenient.
Furthermore, in the middle of the training session at approximately 11:15, reception staff interrupted everyone to inform us that we needed to switch changing rooms again. This disrupted the session for all attendees and caused unnecessary inconvenience, especially as the changing rooms had not been cleaned again prior to the switch.
I believe this situation reflects poor communication and organisation. Clear and timely information, along with proper preparation, would help avoid such disruptions in the future.
I hope this issue will be addressed to ensure a smoother experience going forward.

Been a member for over 10 years and the standards are slipping significantly e.g. went yesterday and noticed a 50kg DB by the cardio section which has been there for a week, a set of 10kg DB by a leg extension left there and was still there the following day. A pair of shoes in the changing room haven't moved in over a week, 3x wet dirty underwear in 3x separate showers? Plus hot water is questionable and sauna has out of action for several weeks with no responses from management.
Recently heard they are removing the ring next week as well - I'd look elsewhere
£2,000 stolen from a locked locker
£2,000 stolen from a locked locker. Gymbox's own security failures made it impossible to catch the thief.
On 11th February 2026, £2,000 worth of personal belongings were stolen from my locked locker at Gymbox Westfield. My padlock was bypassed, pointing to organised, targeted theft.
When I reported it, it took Gymbox 6 days to respond to my email. The police opened an investigation but told me they needed Gymbox to provide CCTV footage and a facial image of the suspect before they could proceed.
Here's where it gets worse. Gymbox reviewed the footage and confirmed that the individual had entered using completely fake details through the online sign-up process. No photograph was taken at entry. No ID was checked. This is despite Gymbox's own Terms and Conditions stating that all visitors are required to have their photo taken or provide valid photo ID. None of this happened.
The result? The thief is on camera but cannot be identified. The police case is a dead end. And the only reason is because Gymbox didn't follow its own entry procedures.
It gets worse still. On 27th February, over two weeks after the theft, a friend of mine entered the same Gymbox on a trial pass without being asked for a photo or any form of ID. The same security gap that allowed the theft is still wide open.
I raised all of this with the branch manager, who was initially cooperative. I set out the facts, explained which of their own policies had been breached, and requested £2,000 compensation, an amount that falls within Gymbox's own liability cap.
Gymbox's response? They cited a blanket clause saying they're not responsible for theft of personal property. What they failed to mention is that a different section of their own contract says the opposite, that they accept no responsibility unless proven to be caused by Gymbox's negligence. Their own contract contradicts itself.
Since then, I have sent multiple follow-up emails. The responses have either been weeks late or non-existent. It has become clear that the strategy is to ignore the issue until I give up.
If you're a Gymbox member, I'd strongly advise you not to bring anything valuable into the gym. Their entry verification procedures are not being enforced, there are no warning signs about theft in the locker rooms, and if something does happen, their approach appears to be to deny liability and wait for you to go away.
Imagine you get an email literally…
Imagine you get an email literally stating “refer a friend by the end of the month and you get a free month”. I refer a friend using my code and following all the right methods to refer a friend. And then getting a message saying “sorry the deal is over”. You are literally scammers and she’s cancelling within 14 days, and I’m definitely out. Treat your customers like dirt, nice
Increased my monthly payment without my knowledge
Gymbox increased my monthly payment without my knowledge.
I signed a contract for an annual membership, with a pre-agreed monthly payment that was part of the lock-in 12-month period. This month I checked my direct debits and Gymbox had deducted more money from my account than I had agreed to in the contract.
They defend this decision by alleging they had sent me a warning email 2 days before the debit date—they never did. This is absolutely appalling service, showing a total lack of transparency and disrespect for the customer. This increase was never brought to my attention nor was it part of the original agreed terms.
I was never notified of the change. Nor was I informed of this increase in price when I signed the contract. They have decided to increase it without my knowledge. That's totally unacceptable.
I will never have a membership with Gymbox again and I'll make sure to tell my friends and family to do the same.
SCAM - stay away!!!!
Aside from being a smelly, ogling men’s gym that’s overpriced and not properly cleaned, they ignored my cancellation email. When I cancelled my direct debit, they set up a new one without authorisation and continued taking £94 a month without my consent. And no, I was not locked in to a contract. So yes, this is 100% unacceptable — in fact, it’s stealing.
Very disappointed with GYMBOX and I’m…
Very disappointed with GYMBOX and I’m on the verge of cancelling I’m shocked at my experience today somebody has stolen my property and it’s not the first time the gym is fairly clean but half of the showers are broken the Sauna isn’t even working consistently the towels they provide smell and half of the time u go for a shower there’s no shampoo or conditioner and if u go to the gym after 4 u will wait 10 -20minutes for almost any piece of equipment you need to use even cardio machines are all busy and booking any of there classes is a myth as it’s fully booked in minutes so what is the point in staying at a gym with poor customer service and people who think it’s funny to mess with somebody that has a long term health condition I urge you all to steer clear of this place I’m referring to the Ealing gymbox.
Sloths
Sloths. Even sloths manage to complete what they are supposed to do.
From gym staff to managers to general managers to CEO. All of them are money oriented, self-centered. Complaint center is only on papers, no pays attention and there isn't a department that can resolve issues or listen to members ie customers. If you pay more you may get heard otherwise keep raising support tickets and queries. No-one literally, no-one will get back to you. You raise a query on the social media platforms, no one will pay attention to your comments Unless they are good ones. Cheaper gyms are rather better than this company. They hire staff who can model better, go around in the gym like a celebrity but do F* all. I would have given a negative scoring if allowed. Being a member for the past 5 years... this company has gone downhill in terms of customer ie member satisfaction.
Don't trust the contract you're signing
I signed up to Gymbox in June 2025 on a fixed minimum term contract. At the time, the Terms & Conditions clearly included a clause allowing members with more than three months remaining to terminate early by paying 50% of the remaining balance.
Midway through my minimum term, Gymbox quietly removed this clause from their Terms & Conditions in December 2025. When I attempted to rely on the early termination option that formed part of the contract I originally signed, I was told it was “no longer available”.
Instead, I was offered a much more expensive “early termination” calculation that involved retrospectively repricing my membership to a higher short-term rate and charging the difference. In my case, this meant paying more to leave early than simply continuing the contract until the end.
There was no clear communication to me that a key financial exit clause had been removed during my active minimum term. Only after querying it was I informed that the T&Cs had changed.
Regardless of the legal technicalities, this feels like a stealthy and unfair way to alter the financial terms of an ongoing contract.
If you’re considering joining Gymbox, make sure you download and keep a copy of the Terms & Conditions on the day you sign up. They may not be the same a few months later.
SCAM - only want money and not care about customers direct request
This is the worst place to try any membership. I Clearly stated my intentions to cancel during my trial period. Only 2 weeks during the 2 months trial and I knew they would put me on a year contract if I didn’t cancel. I CLEARLY made an email request to cancel an they replied with another email ignoring my request asking for another reply to confirm my cancellation and Now I’m being charged £200 and put on a contract that I did not sign up for. IVE been emailing and emailing and nothing yet. My charges are just gonna get accumulated. I’ve contacted by phone to one of the Gymboxes and they said the only way is by email. How are they ignoring my clear request and want to charge me money for somewhere I havnt even been going to. I’m very disappointed and have not heard back any communication from them for 10 days. And then they will charge me more money when my intentions are clear.
The worst gym I've been too!!
I'm not usually one to leave reviews but I've been a member of July 2025 and I do not recommend this gym whatsoever!! Their customer service is so bad, I've been trying to get a hold of someone for over a week and a half now. I've called my branch multiple times but they don't deal with membership queries. I've attended better gyms for a fraction of the amount I've been paying. On top of that the facilities are not worth it. The sauna was out of bounds for months and only just started working this week again.
Aggressive growth strategy affecting quality
They keep offering more and more discounts for new members, whilst the gyms are already over-crowded. So depending on when you joined, you could be paying more for your membership than others and just be getting a more and more crowded gym. They need to open more gyms to alleviate the crowds.
Gymbox Westfield has been a huge…
Gymbox Westfield has been a huge letdown. There’s a continual lack of hot water in both the showers and sinks, which somehow keeps happening with no real fix in sight. On top of that, the sauna has been out of order for over two months — one of the core facilities people actually pay a premium for.
What makes this worse is the complete lack of accountability: no reimbursement, no compensation, not even a meaningful acknowledgment to members for losing access to essential facilities. For a gym that brands itself as premium, this level of service is unacceptable.
Paying full price for half the experience. Do better
Gymbox westfield white city
Hello. I hope that Head Office will respond to my email, because the manager of Gymbox doesn't care at all about the problems of this gym. Everyone I talk to at Gymbox is dissatisfied. Unfortunately, Gymbox is not like it used to be and has lost its quality and prestige. And I think the problem is with the manager of this branch, because I spoke with people who are members of other Gymbox locations and they don't have problems like we do.
One of the issues that has prompted me to send this email now is that the shower and bathroom area has a very strong smell of sewage and feces. The dispensers for shampoo and conditioner are broken and don't work properly. The equipment on the gym floor is not properly secured to the ground; it shakes or doesn't work. The gym environment is cold on some days. The sauna has not been working for more than two months, which is very bad.
I spoke to the reception staff, but they answered rudely and indifferently, saying 'that's just how it is and nothing can be done,' and I asked them to inform the gym manager, but I didn't get a proper response.
I want a full refund for the months I have been coming because I am completely unsatisfied with the service and the gym. And I will keep following up until you respond to this email.
