Good quality fishing items

Had issues linking my membership card on the website as it wouldn’t accept the number. I called the Chester/Saltney store to check stock, and they confirmed the item was available, so I went in person to buy it. The staff explained the website is new and still experiencing some issues. Overall, the in-store experience was much better and more helpful compared to shopping online.

It was lovely to be greeted by Leigh at the door she made you feel welcome. I told her I was looking for a Rab jacket. She took me to the rail and explained the contents of the coat. She went to the stock room to see if they had thicker ones with a hood on and lo and behold she came back with the goods. Also another nice member of staff was Alice the cashier. In all great members of staff, and show an interest in there job. Also girls he loved the jacket.

SALTNEY BRANCH

Nice display of clothing, reasonably friendly staff (unless you interrupt their conversation) a good variety of outdoor gear and a relatively clear floor space.

The toilets are an absolute disgrace however!

Three of the female toilets were blocked completely with toilet roll. One had unflushed fecal matter in, and the other one had unflushed urine in.

None were suitable to be used, and all five of the toilet seats are hanging off making them unsafe.

I tried the disabled toilet instead, and this wasn’t much better with the raised support bars not working at all because they were jammed in the upright position and the toilet seat yet again was hanging off. No soap in the dispenser.

Go outdoors you really are letting yourself down with this state of affairs! The whole toilet area needs to be replaced.

When I left the shop, I quietly and kindly mentioned this to the very young boy at the counter who didn’t know what to say. It seemed he was unused to dealing with people in any other way, than just taking their money and saying goodbye.

The staff here are wonderful. Friendly, knowledgeable and really cannot do enough to help their customers. I had a fantastic experience in store today. Charlie served me and could not have been more reassuring, helpful and supportive. His colleagues were also equally charming and kind. Also the lady who helped me look for a coat in the size I wanted at the start. At the till, Charlie (& colleagues) I cannot praise highly enough. You are lucky to have staff such as these in your Saltney store.

Excellent choice of outdoor equipment at the Chester branch. Found everything that i was after without the need of a pushy salesperson. Alison on the till was very confident and pleasant to deal with.

Dealt with Simon and Chester branch about an issue I had with a purchase. He was a total professional and a pleasure to deal with. Totally satisfied with the outcome. Simon’s customer service/ support is without a doubt 5 stars.

We visited the Saltney store to buy sleeping bags, pillows, a bag and some maps etc for a backpacking trip we are doing soon and were served by Charlie on the tills who was very helpful, polite and funny! It made it such a good shopping experience. We will definitely be back. The Liverpool branch is actually closer to our house but we would rather travel to Chester for a better shopping experience

2nd Time ordering online, 2nd time being let down, AWFUL service, 100% failure rate, First order wasn't there when I arrived after payment despite phone call before travelling, 2nd time cancelled the only 2 items I wanted as no stock allegedly, despite web showing in stock at the time and also still available the next day............AVOID

AWFUL
Two items both showing as in stock ordered only for one item cancelled and refunded with no email explaining then second item shortly after was also cancelled. Reordered both again after verbally checking stock availability for the entire order once again to be cancelled with no explanation or information. Wasted three weeks and countless calls and emails back and forth. Entire experience and interactions with company a joke

Fantastic service by Simon in the Chester store. After enquiring about ordering a Mammut waterproof jacket online and use my birthday gift card, only to find out I was unable to use it online and only in store, I was very disappointed. Simon assisted me in store to purchase a different brand. Unfortunately not the purchase I originally wanted, but pleased with the outcome. Would have given 5 stars if it wasn’t for the gift card issue.
