I will not advocate that the public invest here. Withdrawal is rarely executed. After achieving what appeared impossible with swap safety. I was ultimately able to withdraw whatever I had here, and all of my unexplained losses were also reimbursed.

I’ve lived in China, Australia, uk, amoung other places and these are the single worst providers i have ever come across. There just aren’t words to describe how bad they are. If they didn’t have almost a monopoly up here they would go out of business inside a week.
GCI NASSTAR AVOID AT ALL COSTS
GCI NASSTAR - Without doubt the worst IT service provider I have ever had the misfortune to have had to work with in over 25 years of being an IT Manager. Unfortunately I inherited a legacy contract in a new role.
The account managers will literally lie to your face then get swapped out when you complain, they are non responsive, will actively charge for services not being provided with no duty of care and exiting is like pulling teeth out.
Zero IT knowledge, all outsourced support.
Avoid at all costs there are no good people here.

GCI stole money from me then repeatedly lied to me about issuing a refund.
GCI launched a new payment platform in May. I went online to pay my bill using an updated payment method, and the system just kept spooling and spooling. I didn't think it was accepting my updated payment method for some reason. I next attempted to pay my bill using the account information already on my profile and I got the same result - spooling and spooling. Finally, I tried submitting payment using another credit card and that payment went through and I received a message thanking me for my payment.
I checked my account and saw that, in fact, every payment had gone through. I had ended up paying over $900 when I only meant to pay just over $300.
I called customer service immediately and was told GCI doesn't give refunds. I explained what happened, and the representative spoke to a supervisor who authorized the rep to supposedly issue a refund check to me which, I was told, would take 7 - 10 days to process. After 3 weeks I called back and spoke to a supervisor who told me he didn't know why that refund didn't go through but he could authorize a $300 refund that day to my credit card. He literally said he was doing it while we were on the phone. That was June 6. Yesterday, July 7, I called again because I have still not received any refund. The manager I spoke with told me he saw a refund was approved on June 6 and he was going to talk to accounting and call me this morning at 9 am. It's 9:20 and I've received no call.
GCI is a company of thieves and liars. They say whatever they need to say to get customers off the phone. They don't care that I couldn't make my house payment last month. Shame on them.
Unhappy with this company…
I would get a different company if it were easier to do with my small business needs. I miss the former GCI and especially technical support reps who were reliable, helpful and competent. I cannot say this in any way about the changeover. Also, the phones themselves are not programmed right. If I want business tech support, I get customer service, for example and they don’t identify themselves. When I do finally get tech support, I need a supervisor because the calibre of help is not helpful. I had a huge breakdown with my email recently and the GCI rep said they could not help me because it was a third party: Outlook, which I have always used and gotten help if needed from the former GCI. Though I cannot recall a need like this was. I am still not sure how GCI was involved in the complete breakdown with email which I need for my business. I had to pay for tech support here in Ketchikan to fix this which was excellent but I feel resentful GCI now can just like that bow out of previously known technical assistance yet I pay so much monthly to GCi as a small business. I now try not to call GCi if at all possible. This last and recent experience did it. How convenient for GCI not to get calls from me anymore as a high paying small business customer and yet. I am unhappy with this company.

Unbelievable horrendous customer service the staff
- appear appear - to be exploited oversea's / offshore CS'ers regardless one can hardly carry on a conversation with even the supervisors with the very very loud background noise of multiple people and with some CS'ers one can even hear chickens in the background. This company seems to employ one trick after the other you feel like your dealing with the Mafia or maybe Comcast bought them out secretly.

A monopoly that has slow and useless customers support and is basically extortion to Alaskan natives, eating as much as they can off of their PFD like every other furniture or car sales person. 315$ for anyone who does not live in Anchorage or Dillingham, everyone else in villages or towns all around Alaska is subjected to only 100gb and """"up to"""" 10mb download speeds and """"up tp"""" 6mb upload speeds, the Up To part basically means they NEVER keep it that way, for the first couple of days, its standard at 10/6 but after that, it's throttled to be anything lower. just get Starlink bc its 1tb(1024gb) and 90$ a month(650 starting price for equipment)
I wish we had never gotten GCI
If I could put zero stars I would. We had to pay about $450 to get out of a contract after a year, then it took over 2 weeks to port our numbers over to the new carrier because of two errors that GCI made. During that time we had no cell service from either carrier. At that time when we had no service, my husband was applying for jobs and couldn’t receive calls from prospective employers, and my job requires on-call hours, which I couldn’t do in that time with no service, so my coworkers had to do extra for me. There were more headaches, too, (and a surprise bill after we were told we had paid in full) but that’s a little taste of our experience. The only reason we had gotten GCI to begin with is because we were moving to a place that did not have any other service. . . If we were to do it again, we would not get GCI even though there were no other carriers. It would have been better to have to make WiFi calls and get a satellite phone for emergencies rather than go through the headache and cost of dealing with GCI.

No 24hr support
What company that is as big as this doesn't have 24hr customer support my internet is useless right now I have better wifi from my cell phone with a half bar of service and to top it off can't get support to even listen to me or try to help garbage
So disappointed in customer service
Received a notice on our iphone and called to ask what/why it was about. The lady that answered had such a heavy accent that after asking her to repeat herself multiple times I gave up. I felt like the conversation went from language barrier to her being condescending.
There has to be a better choice.
The Only Internet in Alaska
Unfortunately this is basically the only internet provider in Alaska. It sucks that they have a monopoly on the entire market. I have not only set up internet with them twice, but both times they have claimed that I never returned my equipment. Not only is it insanely more expensive than any internet anywhere else in America, they don’t have good customer service. You can always expect to wait upwards of an hour at any of their stores. I wish we had a second option for internet where we lived.

Caleb from GCI came over to unhook our internet line because we were going to get some very large trees cut down. He showed up on time and called too. He later came back to rebook it back up and tested to make sure internet was working. He was respectful and very nice. I highly recommend Caleb from GCI. He had a lot of jobs to take care of that day but made sure he did ours. Thank you Caleb

How is it that a company that charges outrageous prices for internet/other services doesn’t have anybody to pick up the phone. I have waited for 58 minutes on hold to speak to a customer representative. Rip off at it’s best.

The worst customer service!
The worst customer service I’ve encountered in years (or rather, NOT encountered because they are virtually unreachable). They never answer phones and do not return calls. Their chat also does not activate. Their internet is very fine but don’t expect human interaction at any portal!

This company will be gone soon! You can only take advantage of a community for so long until it catches up with you. Charging long distance charges to anchorage and $180 for terrible internet is wrong. Let’s go Star Link!
