No debit card, unreliable app

Does not provide a card, only reimbursement, which means you have to front your own money many times, and when you go to submit a receipt, half the time the app gives a network error, so you can't immediately submit receipts, making them hard to keep track of. Feds should have an alternative option to encourage this service to step up its game. It wouldn't take much for any other FSA service to outperform them.

Denied Denied Denied

Denied, Denied, Denied for an Iron defiency because they need codes and a note that has a physical signature. Letterheads from the VA are not good enough. Now I'm stuck with 8 plus resubmits for a 41 dollar iron supplement....And it's my money. I'm increasing my TSP next year (2027) with this money, and cancelling FSAFEDS since they like playing games. DONE

Horrible!!

They suck! Worst company for FSA reimbursement. If they approve the expense, it is quickly paid (their only positive). Their document requirement is abnormally demanding. It’s very variable on what is approved. Even if the receipt says fsa on it, they may still deny the claim. They make medical offices do additional work to provide necessary documents than the standard. Would never recommend this company.

They epitomize the bad reputation for us, as federal civilians

"What went wrong this time?" That's a good suggestion, as to how to begin my review. For years, very often I've had my claims denied. As I've told their customer service reps many times, as a federal civilian employee, if I had any choice whatsoever for another flexible spending account, I would immediately drop FSAFEDS. The heartache and frustration don't seem to be worth the income tax savings - so this may be my final year that my family and I have ANY flexible spending account.

The latest problem: Last year I spent $690 as a one-time payment for Chiropractic Care. After resubmitting that claim, I was reimbursed in January 2025. With the already long history of denied claims, a couple weeks ago I took the receipt that FSAFEDS accepted last year for reimbursement to the secretary in the chiropractor's office. She very graciously wrote a customized receipt - with the exact wording, and fee, from my approved claim in January 2025.

I submitted that receipt on January 5, 2026, but it was denied. I then called FSAFEDS and spoke with a supervisor who suggested a way to have the claim paid upon resubmission - but it was denied a second time. When I called FSAFEDS again, another customer service rep agreed that it "should" have been reimbursed, and she resubmitted my claim for payment - only to have it denied a third time. I then called FSAFEDS yet again, and another customer service rep told me to make another slight change in the wording, which I did - only to have it denied for the fourth time.

Today I called yet again, and spoke to another supervisor. She said I should start over again with the FSAFEDS "Health Claim Form"; drive back to the chiropractor for another 1-hour roundtrip; and have the chiropractor actually "sign" the health claim form. I did that, and I uploaded that signed form this afternoon.

Since I'm not an idiot, I have no confidence that this $690 claim will ever be paid - either after this fifth attempt, or at any time in the future. The only further recourse of which I'm aware, would be to file a complaint with my member of Congress. Obviously, almost the "last" thing I would "want" to do would be to spend all of that additional time, after the hours I've already spent on this claim.

Bottom line: It would be difficult to imagine a more broken and dysfunctional system than that of FSAFEDS. I'm quite sure, however, that the claims processors would be more willing to follow the instructions of the supervisors in their customer service department, if their "own" funds and livelihood were at stake. Maybe that's the only way to fix this mess - too bad they would never allow it.

FSAFEDS IS MORE OF A CRIMINAL…

FSAFEDS IS MORE OF A CRIMINAL ORGANIZATION. They deny claims constantly especially if they're closer to the 4 figure claims. On multiple occasions I provided receipts that were provided to me by kaiser and other medical providers and on a majority of those instances they denied my claims. They are ran more like a criminal organization that continously denies your claims and keeps your money. A bunch of thief's. If you have 4000 or more taken from your pay and get $100 back on approved claims, they're criminal. Anyone else would have an attorney general or district attorney breathing down their necks, well, not these guys.

Login.gov website for FSAfeds is an absolute pile of garbage. I can login but it can't find my account. Phone has been on hold now for 1.5 hours. Sure hoping the new administration can fire the people maintaining it.

FSA feds sent my check to the wrong…

FSA feds sent my check to the wrong address. after being locked out of my account for a year i finally got back in and used my funds for glasses. I also changed my address and my direct deposit information that takes 7 to 10 days to approve. This branch of government should be shut down. They now are making me wait 10 working days today is the 10th day but still wont help till tomorrow. Pathetic. This is the only FSA that doesn't have a card to use and they pick apart your claims like your a convict going on parole. I will never use this again even though i have to add money to roll over my 175.00 still in there so they do not keep it instead of giving it back. again Pathetic.

WHAT FLAMING IDIOT THOUGHT THIS WAS A…

WHAT FLAMING IDIOT THOUGHT THIS WAS A GOOD IDEA???? Too bad there isn't a negative 100 stars! I used to go into FSAFeds and make a claim, no problem. Then some doofus decided gee, let's make this so hard that employees cannot even get into the dang thing to make a claim. Then if you don't you cannot get your money out of it. I have a huge dental bill that I put on a credit card that I need to pay. I have tried for months to get access to my account. They do not have my work email, they require you to have two emails a personal and professional but they do not recognize my federal email. So, my husband and I on a combined account so he has access to my account when his runs out and vice versa so now I have to go through his account when previously this was not a dang issue. This is not transparent, it is difficult to navigate, there is little technical support and the number for the tech support is some sort of freaking mystery apparently because I had to call Login. gov to get the FSA support who is the only one who can fix this flaming pile of not-worth-the-powder-to- blow-it-to-the-hinges-of-hades. Who ever thought this was a great update needs to find other employment. Why do you people insist on security that does nothing but frustrate the actual legitimate user? After this, I am not signing up for FSA again because I am sick of this constant inability to access the benefit that I have deducted from my pay. Oh and for the love of freaking GAWD you have to get a code sent to your email to submit this review. Will this unnecessary stuff ever end?

FSAfeds is garbage and needs to be dumped by govt

Ok, so long time fed employee. So unfortunate that we have zero say and everything is structured nowadays so there is zero accountability to the customer. That alone is frustrating. So, I have medical treatments that due to the sedation involved I cannot drive. I cannot take a taxi because the gig economy destroyed that. So, Uber it is. But FSAfeds doesn't like approving those. So I have to jump through hoops compiling a bunch of info to "prove" my claim. I take the Uber receipt, highight the date, Uber's name, my name, the amount, "trip fare", both the to and from addresses yada, yada, yada all to meet the "IRS guidelines" which FSAfeds won't look for in their review unless i highlight it ALL for them. The processors shouldn't have to do their jobs. I need to do it for them to get my money back from them. I also have a PDF of my doctor's office website clearly showing their address to prove my destinations are medical. Then I wait for the Explanation of Benefits (EOB) from my insurer and highlight yet more of the same information all to make things painfully easy for them in approving. AND STILL my claims periodically get denied and they claim that I didn't provide adequate documentation!!!! Heaven forbid my doctor make a clerical mistake with a date which cannot be fixed. I'm just SOL then for those expenses as my trips with Uber won't match the EOB. And the customer service people you call or chat with just throw up their hands and toss it back into your lap to either lose the money or keep busting your hump to convince them this 16.95 or 15.90 you're trying to reclaim from them is valid for them to give back to you. U.S. Govt needs to stop with the unnecessary redtape and wasting employees personal time reclaiming a few hundred dollars of our own hard earned money back!!! So many companies use a debit card and they love the ease and convenience, but we are slaves to contractors.

Hire tech people who know their jobs

Couldn't submit claim online anymore. In the past, quick and easy. Now, after login.gov move, it is a nightmare. Wasted hours talking to bots??? Richard and Alex.
Claims tab wouldn't open. Also, have not gotten confirmation yet of faxed claim like we used too.

She knows the job thoroughly, highly effective, she knows where to start and what all i shold do - her supervisor is also helpful on how much i have and how much i should spend before such and such date - Kristina or Christina i belive- Please ensure they both are regarded as a Great Asset to the Organization please
