I had a telephone chat with one of Fresh Solar’s salesmen. We discussed all possible options and eventually came up with a price that I found acceptable. The next day the quote was emailed to me and the quote had increased by £2,509 with no reason given. All I say is beware, if a quote can increase by £2,500 overnight, are they a trustworthy company?

Installation was completed on 16 June, and I was promised that the MCS certificate would be provided within 30 days. However, there is still no sign of the certificate.

What makes this more frustrating is the difficulty in reaching Freshsolar’s customer service. It has been very hard to get a clear response or proper update, which is disappointing after the installation has already been completed.

Based on my experience so far, I would advise others to be very careful when dealing with Freshsolar. The installation may be completed, but the aftercare, communication, and follow-up on important documentation have been poor.

The salesman, Michael, lied about the degree of support that would be given post installation and then vanished into the brickwork when problems arose. The installer of the panels left his rubbish all over the Scaffolding so it blew into the garden over the next couple of weeks. The guy installing the electrics admitted that he didn’t know how to install the EV charger but he fiddled with it anyway. Two more engineers came out when the charger didn’t work and both reprogrammed it. Both were informed that I was with octopus intelligent go, the tariff that the salesman advised me to take out. Octopus save the day by instructing me to take all the time programming out out of the EV charger, which is what the engineer should have done, if he had fully understood his job. The customer service manager tried to wash his hands of the whole thing and told me to contact the manufacturer. The scaffolders broke one of their planks while taking down the rig and left the broken panel in my garden. I am sure there are a lot of installers out there who will give you a lot less hassle.

The installation wasn’t too bad, scaffolders turned up late and then we didn’t think they were coming back to take it down.
They only went through 2 panels on my garage roof even though I offered them a scaffold board to work off.
Was told we could get electricity at 5p a unit at night so we could charge batteries which was a lie unless you have an EV.
Took a month to actually get to supply electricity to the grid ( I think this was the electricity company) so I gave away electricity.
Now one of the breakers continues to trip weekly so you have to keep an eye on it or any export you set up doesn’t work, today I noticed it at 7.15pm and now have 30kw of electricity I could have exported at 29p per kw. I have emailed their ‘customer support guy’ loads of times but don’t get a reply and even their complaint email and they won’t respond either!
Not impressed at all especially with the amount we spent out

I gave the project because of Costco in March 2026 and the first instalation date was cancelled on 27th May and reschedued for 4th June -today.
We have to ring yesteday what is happening to the scaffolding. then we got the scaffolderds at 12 pm and they did. not have the courtesy to tell us, theey finshed the job and left with open gates to thee garden (Normally locked) and the front gates.
This morning (4-6-26) they did not turnup beetween 8 and 9PM. Afteeer teh email at 09.30, I got the callsaying thee van is broken down and they have to cancel the installation and will do following Tuesday possibly.
I got annoyed and shouted at the person to canc ethe whole thing and take the scaffolding off.
When you ring the company nobody answers and the voice mail says write an email.
Now AG rings and rearrange for Tuesday and will take the scaffolding sooner which is a security risk.

There are problems with communication and the language is not helpful either.

I chose them because of their links with Costco, so I felt it was a safe bet from the start. There was great flexibility when it came to the installation. My system is located in the garage, so it required quite a bit of rerouting of wires, which was handled really well.
The engineers followed my instructions and placed everything exactly where I wanted, even though it made the job a bit more difficult. I really appreciated that.
Pricing is very competitive compared to others, and a big thanks to Leo for the quotes and for the ongoing support whenever I’ve had any questions.
Overall, I’d definitely recommend them.

I recently received a fresh solar recommendation from Costco, who I always trust. Because I already had Give Energy batteries, I contacted this company for two Give Energy all-in-one batteries. They gave me a quote, and I paid the deposit. The installation was booked for 9th December.

However, after weeks of waiting, I suddenly received a full refund and an email from Jack saying:

“The necessary software commissioning and integration processes are outside the scope of work our engineers are currently comfortable taking on, as they involve a high risk of future recurring service issues and necessary revisits.”

There was no phone call, no explanation, and no courtesy. When I called them after receiving the refund, they stopped answering the phone and only sent an email cancelling everything. This was extremely disappointing, especially for a £10,500 job where trust and communication are so important.

It is sad that after taking the deposit and giving installation dates, the company cancelled without any proper decency. It feels like they were trying to push me towards Chinese batteries instead of supporting Give Energy, which is a trusted British-made company.

My time was wasted, and the service was very poor. Please be aware before booking.

Chris, Matt and Dan did a great job installing our system. They were prompt, reliable and friendly, and when a glitch arose because of the design of our old house, they bent over backwards to sort it out. Excellent.
