Only 3 stars as although everything worked out in the end, the experience was not as good as it could have been.

There is absolutely no point giving a 'mid market' price when that is not what you give clients.
I asked if I exchanged 900,000 euros to Sterling on the 18/11/25 what price would I get and was quoted 1.1378
on 11/12/25 i gave an expected settlement euro settlement figure, and asked for the days price, which was not answered in the response.
on the 12/12/25 I asked again for the price and the exact settlement figure was given and was quoted a rather vague 'just over 1.14' answer.
On Monday with funds received 0n 17/12/25 the firm rate was suddenly 1.1485 resulting in a difference of £5081.30 from a price of 1.141.
Using a price that clients do not receive just sets expectation unrealistically high.
Bearing in mind I had plenty of other options to exchange the rate, quoting mid price against my actual price quoted by Nationwide, helped you secure the business, as the end result was around £8000 higher, but I actually doubt the price achieved was higher than the Nationwide.
Under FCA guidelines, a firm needs to act honestly and transparently, which I do not believe you did.

FCP was recommended to me by the estate agent in France, where I was purchasing a ski apartment. I had already set up a currency exchange company, but I took the time to also explore what FCP could offer. I was so pleased I did this. From the beginning, I was so impressed by the professionalism of the original discussion, which instilled a great deal of faith in where I was entrusting my money. From then on, every interaction with FCP was of the highest professional level, and the advice and service were outstanding throughout every process.

I was made to feel comfortable from my first communication with FCP.
The account manager made this clear from the start , and linked well with the foreign lawyers and agents.
The eventual funds received were acceptable , thanks to the negotiation of a favourable exchange rate.

We were approached by this company several months ago to effect various currency exchanges in $, € and £

We were hesitant to do so as we have for many years worked with the market leaders

However, we had experienced an issue with them transferring monies from Malta and so this time around we thought we would try FCP instead.

Setting up an account was the first hurdle but eventually we were able to do this and transferred $10,000 from our USA account into the FCP partner account (Visa Global Services) as a trial transaction.

Unlike the market leaders whereby you go online to check rates and get an immediate offer, FCP do not work in this way.

Once you place your account in funds, they will call you to fix a rate and effect a trade. Essentially you are holding onto your phone whilst FCP are calling other currency brokers to get a competitive rate for your acceptance.

We tried this with FCP whilst keeping open the website with the other company

We were converting $10,000 into sterling and transferring these funds into our UK bank account.

Disappointingly, the first offer was £85 less than the other company then whilst we waited this was reduced to a £25 differential.

My wife was handling the transaction but I told her it made no sense to complete a trade with FCP when we would do much better with the market leaders

So, we asked FCP to return our funds back to our original US bank account.

Well, for several hours there was silence but the representative came back with a revised trade offer that we finally accepted.
