Great insights and I am around 25% up overall. A few are down but thats par for the course. Some recommendations are on the dear side so I stick to the shares up to around £10. Overall very happy :)
A great service for budding investors and more experienced folk alike. Share Advisor provides well researched recommendations, that are explained clearly so that you can understand the rationale for investing and the potential risks.
I have bought the guide on and off for a few years. I find that there are too many shares that are recommended, quite a few foreign that I do not want.
I probably do not buy enough shares to warrant the expense of the quide, as I only buy a few times a year. I like the ice and fire separation. As with all shares some go up and some go down in value, there have been quite a few big losers, which surprised me, maybe the research was not diligent enough for these.
I have used the Motley Fools' services for many years & have found them invaluable to my financial wellbeing. Good advice & good investment choices are what you get from the Fools' subscription services.
Generally a great service, giving both tips for investments as well as information on investing. Big drawback is having very high priced separate memberships for 5G and VR shares, so this lucrative share market advice is absent.
On the whole, a very good service for giving you distilled information on a range of shares and reinforcing the investing principles one should apply, eg. diverse portfolio for the long term. But this should be one of a range of sources of information on shares and investments.
Most of the recommendations I have invested in have been successful, some very successful. A few have lost me money but I regard this as a reality of investing.
Motley Fool is a great service. I've used their Share Advisor for several years. Makes me think "outside the box" giving me fresh ideas and share recommendations off my usual radar. All are quality companies you would be happy to keep for many years. What's more it costs a fraction of what a stockbroker charges for the same thing.
We're very happy with the "Foolish" services, particularly as we have no knowledge ourselves of the stock market and no time to do the research necessary.
Our choices were performing very well up until recently, but we're not taking any panic measures, just riding the wave.
We appreciate the honest appraisals and the information in the newsletters advising not only what to buy, but also occasionally, what to sell.
All in all, we would highly recommend The Motley Fool and only wish we'd got started sooner.
At my time of life, I am trying to keep my portfolio simple. I am concerned that we are getting more and more US listed recommendations which I am not interested in. Over the many years I have been a member, I have sustained a few substantial losses, but overall have always shown a surplus. More recently I have noticed that often recommendations have been made too late to be able benefit from sharp rises in share prices. For the above reasons, I have decided to renew my Share Advisor membership, but not PRO.
I’ve been a member of Motley Fool Share Advisor for over 5 years now and have found their news and advice about stock market investments to be unbiased, straightforward and sound. They look at a company’s basic financial situation and its position in its sector before making a recommendation. Sometimes a company is on a watchlist for some time before a recommendation to buy is made. It hasn’t been plain sailing, especially since Christmas, but I’m in profit with my investments so far, easily beating the savings interest rates. RECOMMENDED.
Fools as they are, the advice is generally good, I like the presentations and explanations of the research that they give. There are a lot of writers and the newsletters make for good reading. I would say not all their advice is spot on but 90% is decent, helps me choose for my SIPP especially these days where fund managers seem to lag behind the index. I am not especially gifted financially so the help is great. The only thing I struggle with is that they always seem to have yet another service which you have to pay a massive amount to join which to be honest is well out of my ability to join. Hence the 4 stars generally though, good solid advice.
I have subscribed to the Hidden Winners service for a number of years. This is a great service for those that don’t have the time and/or expertise to carry out the research themselves and although I don’t invest in all of their recommendations, nearly all of the companies I have invested in have produced some very impressive returns. Well worth the cost of the subscription which I highly recommend.
A very helpful service for those of us who want to invest in the stock market but don't have time to do our own research into which companies are best to invest in at the moment. Well worth the subscription fee.
The Motley Fool have an excellent track record. If you stay invested in their stock tips and buy a little more each month, you’ll be set for the long term. I don’t have time searching stocks for myself, but I love reading their stock tips every two weeks (frequency depending on the service) and find out more about all the great companies they recommend buying.
I have used Motley Fool for some years. Not as my only investment tool, but as a useful part of my portfolio of tools. I could do without all the high pressure selling focused on specific opportunities, but apart from that their research is useful, timely, and reminds me to look at companies that I might otherwise overlook or dismiss as being too staid !!
Been a member for years, 5 or so, and over that time I have seen some good returns. However, more and more now we receive US listed recommendations, instead of UK. I signed up for motley fool UK not USA. Unfortunately the performance of picks vs the market has decreased to being almost equal.
Unlikely to renew membership.
I have been with the Motley Fool since I read their guide to investing in the early 2000’s. I have been a member of their UK and US share adviser services for many years. They have provided me with a great financial education and tips. I thoroughly recommend them to anyone who wants to manage their own finances and build a brighter financial future for themselves. That’s what I have achieved. Thank you Fools!!
If you are an amateur investor and want good sound advice about how to invest for the long term then I would highly recommend Motley Fool Us & UK. As a family we started investing with them around 10 years ago and we have made great gains even thought we are very much amateurs when it comes to stock picking.
I have been a subscriber of Hidden Winners and Share Advisor on and off for a few years.
They are very good platforms for novices and MF’s podcasts are great, albeit dedicated almost exclusively to the USA.
I’d love to give MF 5 stars but I shall take one star off because in the last year their advice, in my case, wasn’t the best and I took the hit in several investments that may or may not recover in the next years.
The other star they are not getting is due to their focus on the USA and I am much more comfortable and interested in investing in the UK and Europe.
