Visited yesterday to drop off more Platy fry that I bred at home and to buy some needful things and a new Amano shrimp.
As always, the staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Advice is always readily available. So good to have a store that actually knows about its products!!... thank you again!

Have visitedany times and bought a few things from them. They are not the cheapest but it's the only "real" lfs around. I purchased 10 green neon tetra from there Wenvoe store and 4 have died within a week! I've noticed a few have fungus on them so trying to treat them. All the other fish I have in the same tank have been fine for months untill I added these new ones from maidenhead Wenvoe and since have lost 1 of my rasboras aswell! My water paremeters are all spot on aswell as the temps. No cover bag was given or offered when I purchased them either so had to carry them out under my jumper. Staff don't ask what type of tank you have or what other fish you have them going in with they just don't seem to care at all. I won't be going back there I'll buy my fish from pets at home as I've had no issues with fish from there and there cheaper.

Been a customer at their store in Swansea for years and always been treated with respect. Told to a return a faulty pond item after an enquiry midweek and was ‘served’ by an ill mannered staff member who told me it was MY fault it wasn’t working, to do some research before I bought it, interrupted me constantly, and when I said I wasn’t happy with her attitude, was served by another staff member as she shouted her name across the shop so I could make a complaint about her! New staff member said no idea what to do about faulty product, had no experience of pond equipment and no manager on site and suggested I come back when there was.

After having a rubbish experience with a well known pet store, we thought we’d try this fish centre with Yarnton nurseries. A very helpful and knowledgeable man called Jason went out of his way to explain different types of fish and which would work best with our size tank. I left with a beta, two loach and two snails and will be going back for some tetras once these have settled in. Very well stocked centre and very helpful staff

been a customer of SHEFFIELD branch since they opened and have spent quite abit on fish and plants over this time .This occasion i went for substrate gravel soil and few plants etc there were few tubs of salvinia bt noticed most of the pot was brown (dead ) but still salvageable i thought so i asked if i bought these 2 any chance of a bit cheaper He said no thats how they come so against my better knowledge bought them anyway and on way home gt some from pets at home jst to be safe which were (perfect) by the way 70%of both tubs were dead and seeing pets at home NO THEY DONT COME LIKE THAT they are at least a green nt (mulch) so very dissapointed in Maidenhead Aquatics since then all have died they were past point of no return others are thriving .so lesson learnt dnt assume they know anything or care enough and go with your better judgement otherwise stick to items not alive and then the only thing to dissapoint you is their Extremly High Pricing on a vast ammount of items

I purchased 6 fish from Brislington bristol 5 died in days 1 survived , I took pictures evidence videos , plus a water sample back to this store !! No one believes you !! Make excuses Alex is a liar makes it up as he goes along, said he only offered me 50% of my amount spent refund my partner said he mentioned nothing , after misplaced receipt my fault!! 2 visits back when I got my statement from my card supplier they said I needed fair enough but they never believed a word because its a smoke screen for there lies, blamed my water easy option lol .. absolutely nothing wrong with my water I've kept tropical fish 35 yrs in Bristol, there tanks are dirty . Save your money go to Bedminster aquatic store its ran better more honestly JASON AND ALEX are both untrained in customer service and both rude , I gave them chances to do the right thing both need better experience especially in customer service

I'm experienced in keeping tropical fish and have been looking after them for many years. I thought Guppy Fish would be enjoyable to have again and purchase from the Wellington store. The first five lasted about a month although showed problems soon after purchase. Firstly, I blamed myself and thought it was the water quality not at the correct balance, tried every trick in the book but sadly they were in such a state I had no choice but to euthanize them humanely with clove oil. Purchased (We'ton store) the same again, changed everything in the tank, and started fresh (at a considerable cost). This time after a couple of months all the Guppies (one by one) did the same. Thought I was doing something very wrong but could not figure out what was going on. Ok, try again, and this time purchase form the Aquarium store very close to Ottery St Mary, Devon. Bingo, finally the fish are doing very well and my insanity is restored. Some time passed, purchased another three fish from the Wellington store, History repeated itself, but thankfully did not infect my other fish. I would strongly advise you not to buy Guppies from the Wellington store! It can be very heartbreaking and expensive for new people trying their hand at tropical fish, and Guppies are usually the first fish to go for.

Never will I purchase anything from Maidenhead or fishkeeper again! Beware anyone who buys fish from these stores they are most likely diseased. I had three lovely clowns bought two more to add to the collection only for two of my original clown to die with a week of putting the new clowns in. I’ve also lost one of the new clowns due whatever diseases they had. No treatment could cure whatever it was they had and I now have 2 clowns instead of five. Really disappointed that you pay over the top prices for these fish and they kill perfectly healthy fish within days. I’ve also heard they do not quarantine fish the tanks aren’t the cleanest and you will prob see a dead fish in each tank. These stores need to up their game and they need to respond to thier customers. Disgusting practices and terrible consequences for these fish and corals mostly half dead in the tanks.

Appallingly bad. Of the £90.00 worth of fish I bought, over 50% were dead within 3 or 4 days. The remainder have white spot and I'm battling with medications and water changes to save them. I've been keeping freshwater tropical fish for 15+ years and have never experienced anything like this. They have of course lost my business permanently, but such a store is horrendously bad for the hobby in general. N.B. Review is specific to the Leeds North store. Other branches have infinitely higher standards IME.

Called in at the sheffield store today to buy 6 white widow tetras .had a glance at them checked for white spot and bacterial infection looked ok so requested 6 but noticed there was a hight fin variety in there which I stated I did not want. So into the bag they went then covered with the brown invisibility bag .Got home, placed the bag in the tank for 30 minutes and had a quick look at them, this is what I got for my £20.
A high fin white widow which I stated I did not want, 2 with one eye and 1 with half a dorsal fin and 2 were ok. Not very pleased at this point, thought I'd be fair and ring the store to see if they could rectify the problem and this is what he said "come back to the store and I will give you two more you can also keep the 2 one eyed fish if you like". That's all well and good if I'd just not traveled from the other side of rotherham and back, so it's my problem I have to spend another £5 in fuel. I already have 5 fully grown widow tetras in my large tank what chance do you think the 2 one eyed tetras will stand if you know any thing about these fish? their whole aim in life is to kill each other. Won't be bothering calling for the 2 replacement fish as I will not step foot in your shop again Enjoy the free money

I visited the York store recently which is closest to me, as I am wanting to get back into fishkeeping/aquascaping after a break of many years. This was the first shop I thought to visit after following Fish Shop Matt and MD Fish Tanks on YouTube for quite some time. (Matt worked in a branch of Maidenhead Aquatics down south). All Maidenhead Aquatic shops should/would be of the same standard right? Wrong!!
I visited for some inspiration. I walked in giddy and excited and walked out disgusted and disappointed. In only the first three fish tanks I looked in, there were two dead fish, things did not improve as I looked in every tank. Dead fish, half eaten fish, fish covered in fungus or white spot, ripped fins, dead shrimp. The cold water tanks weren't any better. The tanks were dirty, terribly scratched, many being extremely overpopulated. Many tanks along one wall had white, milky water. The rest of the shop was messy, dirty and dusty. There seemed to only be one member of staff, surely not ideal. I will definitely be going elsewhere when I decide on my set ups. Very sad and upsetting, all those poor fish.

Wanted to leave a review for my recent experience at the Derby store. A really lovely store and shopping experience with a lot of care put into the place and the livestock. Want to give a special thanks to Tom and Deanne - they were so helpful with an issue I had, were full of great knowledge, and couldn’t do enough for me. I really appreciate all their help l, knowledge and their kindness. Would highly recommend. 🐠

I am absolutely disgusted with the attitude of Maidenhead aquatics.
I purchased a Fluval Roma 200 from them on the 31/10/2023, within 3 months it developed a slight crack at one end, it had not moved nor had it been interfered with, it’s a floating tank so nothing underneath, it is also on the Fluval stand.
I contacted Maidenhead and I was told they would call me back once they had contacted Hagan UK,,, I waited three days so I called them back, I was totally gobsmacked when they told me that the glass is not under guarantee, apparently they only guarantee the joints.
Why do they not tell you this or advertise this,, I know for sure if they did I would not of purchased a tank from them at all
I have since had to purchase another tank and am waiting for trading standards to contact me, a little advice to all, STAY AWAY!!!!!!

I usually go to the Brigg shop but today I went to Lincoln for a change. Greeted by a lovely chap who was very helpful. I really can’t recommend the knowledge and support given by the staff here. Nothing is ever too much trouble and I’m no easy customer!!!

From our very first visit I thought the entire team at St Albans were great. We were complete beginners and not sure which kind of fish/tank we wanted to set up. Since then and over the past two months, the team, under the experienced guidance of the manager Stuart have given us every piece of pertinent information we needed to help us make our decision and have guided us step by step throughout the set up of the tank and the choices and purchases of our fish family. Ryan in particular has been an absolute star, he is just so knowledgable and so passionate about fish!

Kez made it all so special for our visits, ask a question she's got the answer in detail, very enthusiastic about the fish and plants, she recommends what plants are suitable for your needs, as with the fish happy to discuss different tempraments different fish have, even down to the various benifitial filters, so if in doubt go for help and advice at maidenhead aquatics.
